Yami made his way towards the Battle arena aiming to take on the first of the battle leaders, a woman named Jenna and her bug pokemon. He was planning to use a single pokemon against her, his Shelgon. While his Shelgon was incredibly strong and it might annoyance the first battle leader to use such a powerful pokemon he had his reasons. He wanted to train his Shelgon up and get the dragon type as strong as possible. His Shelgon Seiryu was his greatest companion and they had been together for a while now and he wanted his pokemon to evolve into a Salamence so he could complete his friends dream of being able to fly. He threw the pokeball of his companion up and down in his hand as he walked into the Battle room and began to survey the area before he took up a position on the arena floor and threw the pokeball into the air summoning out his Shelgon. Seiryu landed on the ground giving a loud dragon like roar as he stood their proudly. He was a dragon and as such he would do his race proud. Yami slowly cleared his throat and declared himself, 'I Hateshiginai, Yamijin of the Hoenn Dorm with my Pokemon Shelgon wish to battle against the Battle Leader Jenna!" he called before turning his attention to his Shelgon. Seiryu ran up to him and nodded. Yami crouched down and patted him, "Let's do our best. If we win here you'll be one step closer to flying" he said in a soft tone. Jenna, the battle leader, appeared quite quickly upon hearing the challenger. She did not like to keep the students waiting. Plus, she was always eager to get some battling in! She nodded in acknowledgement and acceptance to the young man as she came to stand at her usual position on the battle field. The field was a bright grassy field, suitable for bug type Pokemon. She gave Yami a bright smile. "Alright. This will be a three-on-three battle. My name is Jenna, and I specialize in bug type Pokemon because they are awesome, in my opinion at least." She reached for a Pokeball and gently tossed it into the air. "Come on out, Sparkles!" She smiled up at her Butterfree as she appeared. "You may have the first move," she said, looking back at the challenger. Yami ran his fingers through his hair as his opponent called out her butterfree sparkles. Yami looked at his opponent giving her a blank stare as he spoke up, "I apologise in advance" he commented referring to his incredibly strong Shelgon, he could have used another one of his pokemon but he was looking to boost the strength of his Shelgon. Yami then looked at his dragon, " Seiryuu you know what to do" he called. Seiryuu nodded and began to dance moving from side to side as a bright red aura erupted around him enhancing his speed and strength from his dragon dance. Seiryuu then opened his mouth releasing a stream of raging hot red flames. The flames poured forth through the air flying towards the butterfree. Jenna took in her opponent's Pokemon. He looked really strong, stronger than Sparkles. It made her wonder why the student had not challenged her earlier. She supposed this may have seemed easier to him. Or, perhaps, he was going to try to beat all of her Pokemon with just this one. Well, she was not about to let him do that easily! "Sparkles, up!" she said as the fire flew towards her. She smiled when her Butterfree was able to escape the flames. "Strength is not everything," she said, addressing Yami. She looked up at Sparkles. "Good. Now use Confusion!" Considering how much stronger the Shelgon was, the move would not cause too much damage, but at least it would do something. Plus, there was the chance of him becoming paralyzed. That was always helpful.
Sparkles immediately tilted upward and flew as quick as she could towards the ceiling of the gym, away from the flames. She flew down a little so she was not so far away from her opponent. Then, she sent a telekinetic force at the Shelgon. (OOC: Hoping to continue this battle, but will need someone to mod it again) Shelgon stood his ground as the telekinetic force struck him head on. He moved back a single inch as he dug his feet into the battle field. He then shook the attack of his beady yellow eyes locking onto the Butterfree. Yami folded his arms over his chest keeping his cool as he eyed his opponents pokemon. He was expecting this to go down quickly, he had prepared himself thoroughly for this battle, making sure the roster he chose would be strong enough to thrash Jenna's pokemon, " Seiryu Sunny Day and Flame Thrower!" commanded the noble trainer. Seiryuu nodded his head and his body began to shine as he released a bright light from his body causing everything to become lighter as the temperature began to heat up as he used his sunny day attack to enhance the suns rays of light. With his moved used he then inhaled his cheeks puffing out before he opened his mouth. Unlike before where the flames were a bright red, the flames released from his mouth were a burning bright white. The raging inferno of white flames roared to life expanding in size easily three times the size of Shelgons own body, their size and heat greatly enhanced by the enhanced sun light. The powerful flames soared towards the butterfree the intense heat from the flames began to rise the temperature of their surroundings. ((Ooc: Flame thrower is a special based attack, so it is only +, not ++.)) Sparkles was blinded by the sudden increase in light and did not see the incoming Flamethrower until it was too late to evade. Forced to take the blow, The Butterfree fell towards the ground, Jenna returning her to her Pokeball before she landed. "No need to worry, I'll get you with the next one!" Jenna proclaimed cheerfully, sending out her Shuckle, the only Pokemon she had which was not weak to Fire attacks. "Let's go for it, Linda! Use Bide!" Yami eyed the battled with a carefree expression as the flames engulfed the butterfree, one down two more to go. Yami raised a single eyebrow as Jenna called out her second pokemon a shuckle, a bug rock type pokemon. Yami brought forth Seiryuu's pokeball, " Return' a beam of light shot forth hitting Shelgon dead on returning it to the confines of the spheres as the Shuckle used its bide attack. He would have to be careful and not attack for the next few turns in order to avoid the effects of the bide attack. Yami reached into his kimono, he had originally planned to use Seiryuu only but it was time to give another one of his partners a try, someone he had never really battled with before. He extracted a master ball from his pocket and made it expand, " Chiyo your up!" he tossed the ball up into the air. The light shot up into the air taking the form of an eight metre eighty centimetre long Onix! The giant stone serpent pokemon looked over the Shuckle its head nearly touching the roof as its tail slammed into the ground making the earth quiver under its weight. Chiyo loomed over the bug type pokemon her shadow engulfing the battle field. Chiyo parted her stone lips releasing a loud roar. Jenna would usually be horrified to see a Rock Type in her gym, but Linda's duel typing made this no problem for her. Besides, it's not like she could switch out, not with Bide still in effect. "Come on, Trainer" She said impatiently, Knowing that if this battle were to drag out, it would not be in her favor, not that things were looking up with that Dragon type involved in this battle.

Yami eyed the battle leader as she seemed to grow impatient, there was no need to rush things just yet, especially with bide in effect, he wasn't stupid enough to launch an attack while that was active no need for the damage to come back at him twice as strong, "With bide in effect I'm not about to rush things and risk losing this fight" spoke Yami in a calm tone before he turned towards his Onix, "Chiyo use harden bolster your defence" Onix roared as she began to glow her stone body becoming stronger and harder increasing its density preparing herself for the battle ahead. Level: 10 Abilities: Rock Head, Sturdy, Weak Armour Attacks: Rock Tomb, Rock Throw, Curse, Bind, Harden, Tackle, Mud Sport

Jenna was angry that Linda's Bide had failed. She decided to take a different approach and gave her pokemon her instructions. "Linda, use Withdraw." She called out smiling, Knowing quite well that it will take a lot of effort for Yami's Onix to defeat her Shuckle.

Yami ran his fingers through his hair as he got to work planning out his attack patterns. Shuckle was a bug rock type pokemon while it was no longer weak to flying or fire type moves that only made it weak to water type moves as well as steel type moves, but it was still weak to rock type moves. " Your Shuckle may not be weak to fire attacks, but it's still weak to rock type moves. Chiyo Harden and follow up with Rock Tomb!" commanded the dragon trainer. Chiyo roared as her body glowed her stone body becoming harder as she bolstered her defence. Her rock like body glistened in the light from the sunny day attack that was still in effect. She moved forth onto her belly bringing her slim tail upwards before slamming into the ground tearing up the field as she sent dozens of large boulders flying through the air in order to crash down around and upon the shuckle to slow its movements down and damage it. Linda took the hit, and looked like she barely even felt it. "You might be right about her weakness to Rock type attacks, Trainer, But Linda has a very high defensive ability. You won't damage her easily." Jenna taunted, and she snapped her fingers, to which Linda responded by using Withdraw again. "And that will make it even harder for you to beat her."

Yami didn't bother retorting to the gym leaders words, instead he merely focused on his onix, "Chiyo curse" Chiyo gave a roar as her body began to glow brightly again her attack and defence rising while her speed began to drop, "Follow up with Rock Tomb" Chiyo slammed her tail into the ground again releasing a barrage of boulders towards her opponent again. This was going to be a long drawn out battle but as long as chiyo could hold out, plus once her Shuckle capped her defence all he had to do was cap Chiyo's offence in order to balance the two out. Rock Tomb did not do that much damage either. Jenna wondered why Yami was not switching up his strategy yet. Did he have something else up his sleeve? Well, it was time for her to shake things up. "Linda, use Constrict!" That should keep that Onix still for a bit.
Linda felt rocks hitting her again, but it was not too bad. <You'll have to do better than that!> She was glad she had another chance to attack. She extended her limbs so that they were really long, and she flung them towards the Onix, hoping to wrap them around him.

Yami eyed the battle with a calm mind, keeping himself in control. His eyes followed every movement. His Onix roared as the limbs wrapped around her body constricting but barely doing any damage. It was time to change things up, if he left Chiyo out on the field this battle would take far to long. He pulled Chiyo's ball from his kimono sleeve, "Chiyo return" a beam of light shot out from the sphere hitting Onix dead on returning her to the confines of the pokeball. He pulled a second pokeball out, " Seiryuu come back out" In a beam of light his Shelgon returned to the field giving a mighty roar as he felt stronger than ever before. The Dragon type locked its eyes onto the Shuckle growling lightly, <I hope you can give me a challenge>" spoke the dragon type. He was eager to finish this battle off so he could be closer to becoming a Salamence and gaining the gift of flight. The heat in the room began to rise as the dragon parted his lips a stream of bright orange and red flames roaring to life as they soared towards the Rock Bug Type pokemon.
