All students are divided up into teams, which represent five of the Pokemon regions. Each team has its own residence hall where guests are not welcome. The teams compete against each other by trying to win points through battling and catching Pokemon. Rivalries are encouraged, but do not go overboard and use personal attacks. We all attend the same school, and we are all able to become friends.
This is the list of activities for which points can be earned:
* Catching a Pokemon: 5 pts
* Catching a Pokemon in your region: 10 pts
* Defeating a wild Pokemon in battle: 15 pts
* Defeating another trainer's Pokemon in battle: 20 pts
* Winning a Pokemon contest battle: 20 pts
* Winning a Pokemon contest battle with a Pokemon from your region: 25 pts
* Defeating any Pokemon with a Pokemon from your region: 25 pts
* Winning a battle against another trainer in your team: 30 pts
* Winning a battle against another trainer in another team: 50 pts
* Defeating a battle leader: 75 pts
* Winning a contest: 100 pts
The points you win for your team will be reflected in your team's total points. The amount of points recorded for your team will go through an equation to account for differing sizes of teams. The last month of the year (which is the last month of the spring semester), six trainers will advance to a battle competition. The structure of the competition will be similar to that of the NFL playoffs with a seed and wildcard system.
The bracket looks like this:
The numbers represent the seeds. The four teams with the highest number of total points will have their top trainers enter the tournament with seeds 1-4 (seeded according to total points). The two trainers with the next highest scores, regardless of teams, earn the 5th and 6th seeds. The trainers with seeds 1 and 2 do not play the first round. The trainers battle each other as shown above until there is only one victor. The battles are one on one, and the Pokemon must be within two levels of each other. The tournament takes place during the last month of the year
The victorious trainer earns a rare Pokemon and $1,000. Every member of the victorious team wins an uncommon Pokemon and $500. At the beginning of a new semester, the points start over. It is encouraged to work with your teammates and help each other grow as trainers so that your team will have the best chance of winning the prize.
