The students at Cherrilli Academy are just like the kids at any other school. They have their friends, enemies, boyfriends and girlfriends, and tons of drama, but they are Pokemon trainers! Each trainer is a member of a team that represents a Pokemon region. The teams compete against each other for the grand prize at the end of the semester. Good luck!
Gary frowned as he stared down at his Joltik, June. He had nearly scared her to death when he had caught her. His Farfetch'd had been bent on eating her, and it was hard to keep the two of them apart now. The Joltik seemed afraid of everything now, even him. This was not going to do at all. At least she was not running. Still, he knew he had to fix this problem. "I'm not going to hurt you," he said with an exasperated sigh. How were they supposed to work together if she did not even trust him?
<Your bird is going to eat me,> June said. Why couldn't he understand? She wished she was back in the forest with her friends. There were dangers there, but at least she had others who could help her. She did not know what to expect with this trainer and his Pokemon. The thought of interacting with them frightened her.

Zoey smiled softly as she successfully found the park in Shupert City. Her Meowth Meowthers was by her side. She had known that between the two of them, they would be able to figure out the way to the park. This particular trip was made in order for the two of them to bond some more, for she thought it really important to spend some quality time with each of her Pokemon outside of any kind of training and class.
"What do you think, Meowthers?" she asked as she glanced around while they walked. She loved to be outside in nature; it was a good place to relax and think. Plus, there was always a chance of seeing a Pokemon! She wasn't interested in catching one that day, but she did like to observe Pokemon in their natural habitat. It was really interesting. When she noticed a boy and his Pokemon nearby, she stopped and just watched them, not wanting to interrupt, but she couldn't help her interest in what was being said.

Meowthers felt happy as he padded alongside his trainer. So far he enjoyed living with her. She did not push him too hard in training, and she let him sleep on her bed while she was at class. Plus, she always had good food to give him. It did not get much better than this. <This looks great,> he said as he glanced around the part. He enjoyed wide open spaces. He could run around if he wanted to. A trainer and a Joltik caught his attention. Would they like to be friends? Forgetting about his own trainer for a second, he bounded forward until he was close to the Joltik. <Hi there!> He smiled and swished his tail back and forth.
June nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw a Meowth running towards her. Usually cat Pokemon were pretty scary. Was this one going to eat her? She shivered as she looked up at him. <H-hi,> she said. He seemed friendly, but she could not be sure of his intentions. It could be a trick.
Gary was surprised to see a Meowth appear. "Hello there," he said. "Be careful. You don't want to scare the little Joltik." She was already frightened enough as it was. Where had the Meowth come from? The trainer looked ahead and noticed a girl nearby. He wondered if the Meowth belonged to her. "Is this your Pokemon?" he called out to her. He thought he recognized her, but he could not remember her name.

Zoey blinked when she saw Meowthers run. She smiled when she saw he was trying to make friends with the trainer's Pokemon. She frowned slightly, however, when the Pokemon reacted with fear. She had only known Meowthers for a little while, but she was certain he would never harm a bug Pokemon. "Yep," she said in response to the trainer as she walked up to him. "His name is Meowthers." Now, looking at him closer, she recognized him. She was unsure of whether they had had a class together or not, but she vaguely remembered meeting at lunch some time. "You're Gary, right?" The name was easy to remember because she recalled his grandfather was professor Oak.
Looking down at the little bug Pokemon, she crouched down so she was closer to her. "I love your Joltik." She was adorable. "Hello, there. My name is Zoey. Are you alright?" She spoke with a soft and friendly tone while smiling gently. She hoped she would not be scared of her too; she was usually able to make friends with wild Pokemon very easily. Making friends with humans, on the other hand...

Meowthers frowned when he realized the Joltik was scared of him. <I'm not going to hurt you,> he said. He was rather peaceful and did not like to bother other Pokemon. He just wanted to make friends. He looked up at the trainer and smiled. <Hi. Sorry. I did not mean to scare her.> He hoped the trainer would relay his good intentions to his Pokemon.
Gary nodded when the girl spoke his name. "That's me." Her name was Zoey. Right. Now he remembered her. He looked down to observe Meowthers. The Pokemon seemed friendly enough. At least he was not causing June to run off and hide. Maybe there was hope after all. He looked up when the other trainer spoke again. "Thanks. Her name is June. I just caught her, but, unfortunately, she's having trouble adjusting to me and my team. I think it may be because I used my Farfetch'd, who has a bit of an attitude problem, to battle her. I think he wanted to eat her and scared her to death." He frowned. "Now I can't seem to do anything to make her feel comfortable." He wondered if she would have any ideas. Maybe she had come across something like this before.
June calmed slightly when Meowthers said he was not going to hurt her, but she was still wary. She could not bee too careful after what she had been through. Now there was another human nearby. This one seemed as friendly as her Pokemon. The Joltik did not know what to make of her. <H-hi,> she said timidly. <I'm just trying not to be eaten.> She wished she was back in the forest where she felt safe.

The Joltik still seemed to be afraid. This made Zoey sad. She straightened up as Gary spoke so they were at eye level. She frowned in concern for the Pokemon at his words. "That's terrible." What could be done to help? She tried to think of something. Did they teach about this is Pokemon Psychology? She thought back to what she had learned from observing Pokemon in the wild and from interacting with them.
"Pokemon tend to trust other Pokemon quicker than humans. She probably needs a friend who she can trust first. Then, she'll feel safer knowing she's not alone in this scary situation. She would be able to count on her friend to protect her if your Farfetch'd tries to attack again or is just scaring her. Plus, if that friend trusts you, then it'll be easier for her to also trust you." She paused. It seemed like it would work. The hard part was getting her to trust another Pokemon. "Have you introduced her to any of your other Pokemon?" She hoped he had one that appeared friendly and nonthreatening.
OOC: And he just came out of nowhere and started attacking...
Gary thought about what she said. It seemed to make sense. "No, I haven't done that yet," he admitted. Maybe it was worth giving it a try. "My Squirtle is pretty friendly." He wondered if he would be able to help the Joltik feel at home. He found Skipper's Pokeball and released him. "Hey, Skipper, say hello to our new friend, June."
Skipper turned to look at the Joltik curiously. <Hello. How are you doing?> He had not known many bug type Pokemon. He was interested to see what he was like.
<I've been better,> June said, eying the Squirtle with caution. <Are you going to eat me?> He did not seem like he would, but she thought it best to ask just in case.
<Of course not. We're friends.> Why would she think such a thing? He turned to look at Meowthers upon noticing him. <Hi. Who are you?>
OOC: He was excited to start catching Pokemon and got a bit ahead of himself...

Meowthers became sad when he heard the story of the little Joltik. It was too bad that she did not feel safe with her trainer. He wondered if there was anything he could do to help. He smiled when his owner trainer made a suggestion. Yes, that seemed good to him. He was glad when a friendly-looking Squirtle appeared. <Hi,> he said. <I'm Meowthers.> He swished his tail back and forth as he looked back at June. <Everything is going to be okay.> They could all fix this together.

Zoey smiled when Gary's Squirtle appeared. He was cute and did look friendly. He also didn't look threatening to a bug type Pokemon. She watched silently as the Pokemon interacted. It was always fascinating to watch. No matter what type they were, they always seemed to be able to connect and become friends. She was sure the little Joltik would be able to become comfortable with Skipper and the rest of Gary's team eventually. It just took some time. However, she was not very sure about what would happen with her relationship and feelings towards his Farfetch'd. That ship may have sailed. Though, it seemed like a simple misunderstanding that could be fixed if it was really worked at. If they were going to be a team, they had to get along, after all.
Gary was satisfied that this could work. If Skipper could earn June's trust, he could show her that there was nothing to fear from the team or the trainer. Now the only problem would be Scout. If he tried to eat her again, he may have to start the process of calming her down all over. This was not good. "Thank you for the suggestion," he said to Zoey. "Do you have any idea how I can get her and my Farfetch'd to get along?" There had to be something he could do.
<Friends,> June repeated. She liked friends. Maybe these two were not so bad after all. <Have you seen that bird that attacked me?> She wanted to know if she was safe from him. He could be nearby.
<I'm Skipper,> the Squirtle said to Meowthers. <Nice to meet you.> He glanced back at June. <Don't worry; Scout is in his Pokeball.>

Meowthers nodded at Skipper. Then smiled at June again. <Yes, friends.> He looked around at everyone while he wagged his tail. <Do any of you want to play?> They were in a park, after all, and parks were meant for playing. That was why Zoey had brought him here, right? And maybe playing something would help make the Joltik feel a little bit more comfortable.

Zoey smiled and nodded when Gary thanked her. From how all three of the Pokemon were interacting, she was confident the little Joltik would be fine. All someone needed to feel more confident and comfortable was a friend or two by their side. She frowned slightly in thought at Gary's question. She was sure it could be done, but it would be hard work. She was silent for a moment as she thought. Then something hit her. "You know, tag team battles are designed to make two trainers work together with each other as well as their Pokemon. Maybe it would help your Farfetch'd and Joltik if you had them battle together against two other Pokemon. You could have them battle two of your other Pokemon or just battle another trainer using two Pokemon at a time. You'd have to make sure June is protected from him at first, though, in case he tries to attack her again." Thinking it over again, she thought it was a pretty good shot. If it failed, then, well, they could think of something else. She would have to think longer about another idea, though.
Gary listened carefully to Zoey's idea. It was an interesting one. He did need to get June to like battles. What if she was unable to work with Scout, though? "I guess I should have paid more attention in Pokemon Psychology," he said, chuckling and rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. "It might work if I battled another trainer. I could appeal to Scout's pride, and that may cause him to try to work with June." Yeah, he would give that a try. Still, he wondered if there was something else he could do. He was still learning, and he would likely figure something else out in the future. "I wonder if some sort of special food might be of any help..." Some Pokemon would do anything for food. Maybe if Scout had a good food source, he wouldn't want to eat bug Pokemon.
<Sure,> Skipper said, smiling at Meowthers. He loved playing with new friends. <What do you want to play?>
<Ok,> June said softly. Playing was fun as long as it was not something too rough. She wondered what kind of games these Pokemon knew.
