The wind howled as a lone challenger made his way towards the battle station which housed the battle leaders of Cherilli Academy. The challenger was a young man of the Hoenn dorm, Kagirinai Ikazuchiarashi. He had finally made the decision to act and challenge the first battle leader, Jenna and her bug type pokemon. He was armed to the teeth having already chosen the three pokemon he would use in today's challenge. He would start off with his powerful Tauros Gyuki and follow up with his Slakoth Hiruko and finally his most powerful pokemon Nidorino Dokuton. His team had been armed with various tms in order to allow them maximum efficiency in battle to give him an upper hand. He licked his lips as he slipped his right hand out of his lab coats right pocket and pushed the doors to the arena open and slowly made his way in. With his left hand he extracted a lone pokeball containing his mighty Tauros. He bounced the pokeball up and down as he made his way into the room. Kagirinai threw the pokeball up into the air where it enlarged and opened shooting out a beam of white light. The light struck the ground taking the shape of his chosen pokemon Tauros. Kagirinai pushed his glasses up and spoke in a loud voice, " I Ikazuchiarashi, Kagirinai of the Hoenn dorm have come to challenge Battle Leader Jenna with my Tauros!" called the young scientist. His Tauros Gyuki snorted loudly causing steam to shoot out of his nostrils. His tails swayed back and forth as he stomped the earth with his front right hoof causing the entire floor to shake. A young woman emerged from a back room in a the gym. A small smile graced her face as her eyes fell on the challenger. She loved having battled with young trainers. She liked to test their skills and help them on their way of achieving their dreams. "Hello, Kagirinai," she said politely. "I'm Jenna, and I accept your challenge." She took out a Pokeball and pressed the middle button. Immediately, a beautiful Butterfly appeared in front of her. "Your first opponent will be by Sparkles. You may have the first move." She stepped onto her side of the battlefield with her Pokemon and then waited for the student to act. She could tell his Tauros was strong. This was going to be great!

Gyuki snorted loudly as he stomped the ground with his right hoof before giving a loud battle cry at the appearance of his opponent, a Butterfree. Kagirinai pushed his glasses up as he eyed the bug flying type, a two times weakness to ice, electric, flying and fire types with a four time weakness to rock types, pity he didn't teach Gyuki any rock type moves but his Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and Flame Thrower would be more than enough for this. Kagirinai let a crazed smirk slowly began to form as his eyes began to widen an insane glint forming in them, "Gyuki! Let us begin the experiment! Let us see what effects shock therapy has on our foe?" called the scientist to be as he pressed his index finger again the middle of his glasses. Gyuki howled as steam flew from his nostrils. Electricity began to spark around his body causing his fur to stand on edge. His tails swayed behind him in a threatening manner. The electricity intensity spiked as it coated his body. The electric flowed to his twin horns making them glow. He aimed his horns and released a large bolt of electrical energy at the Butterfree, he had just used Thunderbolt. The challenger was wasting no time in getting right to business. Jenna immediately got into the battle mode herself. She was surprised that the normal type Pokemon knew an electric type move. It was probably a TM, which she had encountered in the past. As a battle leader, she had trainer her Pokemon to battle against their weaknesses. "You're going to have to try harder than that," she said. Type advantage alone was not going to get him a win. "Dodge and use Confusion!"
While most Pokemon would not be able to dodge an attack like Thunderbolt, Sparkles was especially trained. Her cuteness and elegance was only a distraction from her real power. She swiftly flew up in the air and zigzagged, avoiding the attack. Then she swooped down to use Confusion.

Kagirinai merely pushed his glasses up with the bottom of his palm as the opposing Butterfree Sparkles dodged the incoming thunder bolt and retaliated with a confusion, "Stand your ground!" Gyuki nodded as he dug his hooves into the field allowing the confusion to connect. His knees buckled but he withstood the attack never budging a single inch back. His tails whipped about cutting through the air with each sway, "Gyuki lets brighten things up" called Kagirinai. Gyuki released a loud bellow as his body began to glow as he launched a small bright yellow sphere up into the air which dispersed creating intense rays of light, "Lets try shocking her again!" Electricity sparked around Gyuki's body before it gathered in the tips of his horns. He aimed released a powerful bolt of lightning. Jenna watched as the Tauros began to use Sunny Day. She took this as her chance to attack back. "Sparkles, Poisonpowder before attacking again!" Since the Butterfree only knew one damaging move, it would be very helpful if they could poison their opponent. If this did not work, they had other tricks up their sleeve.
While the Tauros was using Sunny Day, Sparkles flew down close and threw a cloud of glittering dust at him. Unfortunately, this meant she was in close range for the Thunderbolt attack, and she was immediately struck. Then she flew up to avoid further damage and issued another Confusion attack.

Gyuki gave a loud bellow as the poison powder fell around him poisoning his system. He bellowed again as he was struck by the confusion for the second time. He dug his hooves in keeping his body positioned for the next attack, it was about time to bring the chill. Kagirinai grinned as he pushed stuffed his hands into his lab coat, "Gyuki cool things down!" commanded the young scientist. Gyuki grinned as he slowly breathed in his cheeks expanded as did his stomach. He opened his mouth releasing a large stream of cyan light that shot forth. As the light flew through the air the area around it became colder as the temperature dropped. Stray rays of light flew off striking the ground freezing it over as the ice beam soared forth to strike the Butterfree. He could have resorted to Flame Thrower but he wanted to keep that as his ace. So, the Tauros knew Ice Beam as well. Now Jenna was really going to have to make sure she did not make it easy on them. She liked to challenge opponents and test their limits. Nothing was learned from a quick, easy win. "Stun Spore and Confusion!" That should do it for now. She was on guard for any other surprises they would throw out.
Sparkles zigzagged across the room, successfully dodging the Ice Beam. As a flying type, it did not matter to her if the ground was frozen. She zoomed closer to the normal type and scattered glittering gold dust on top of him as he passed. Then she turned and used another Confusion attack.

Kagirinai fiddled inside his pockets as the Butterfree avoided his attack again before flying over with stun spore, "Gyuki charge!" commanded Kagirinai. The Taurous gaze a loud bellow and shot forth pushing with all his strength. His hooves pounded against the battle floor as he charged towards the other side allowing the stun spore to fall behind him. He charged across the battle field running with all his might turning ever so slightly to change his directory. He turned facing the Butterfree charging forth in her direction as she used her confusion, " Stampede through it!" Gyuki bellowed as he stampeded right through the confusion ignoring any pain as he sped forth towards the Butterfree his tails sway about to lower her defence. Kagirinai sighed perhaps it was time to use flame thrower he would have liked to keep it a secret but this bug continued to avoid his attack, " Use it!"Gyuki nodded as he charged on only to push down with all his might and leapt upwards higher than any Tauros had ever jumped in the hopes of catching the Butterfree off guard. He released a loud bellow as a roar of fire rushed forth. A stream of bright orange flames roared forth towards the Butterfree. Jenna thought the Tauros probably knew a fire attack because of the Sunny Day. However, she did not have a chance to warn her own Pokemon. She watched as Sparkles was nearly taken down by the Flamethrower. "Impressive," she said. She could tell this guy relied on power and type advantage. While it was not her preferred way of battling, it seemed to work for him. "Sparkles, Confusion and then Sleep Powder!" They were entering the final stretch of this round.
The Butterfree's eyes widened in alarm when the Tauros came charging at her. She tried to fly away, but it was no use. She was hit by most of the Flamethrower, and it hurt badly. How did a normal type know a fire move? He had to be cheating! She pushed off her concerns as she prepared to strike back. Luckily, she had just enough strength to give him another good confusion. Then she attempted to fly over him and sprinkle him with Sleep Powder.

Gyuki dug his hooves in as the confusion struck again this Butterfree was getting on his nerves. His eyes narrowed as the butterfree came down with its sleep powder, "Hold your breathe!" called Kagirinai over head. Gyuki sucked it in and held his breathe as the sleep powder fell over him. He shook it from his fur before releasing his breathe. He snorted as his tails lashed through the air with a tail whip, "Burn her up!" Gyuki bellowed as he opened his mouth releasing another powerful stream of flames at the Butterfree moving his head ever so slightly making the stream of flames fall on a horizontal angle for a wider target area. He didn't want it to miss again. Sparkles lighten slightly when she saw that at least one of her attacks had hit. She tried to dodge the next Flamethrower, but the Tauros' actions made it impossible for her to dodge. The fire was too much for her to overcome, and she began to fall to the ground, fainted.
"Try to dodge!" Jenna shouted when she saw the Tauros attempting another fire attack. Unfortunately, their opponent was too good. She took out Sparkles' Pokeball and returned her before she could fall tot he ground. "Good work," she said to Kagirinai. "Let's see if you can do it again. Come on out, June!" She took out another ball and released her second Pokemon. A Paras appeared in front of her, looking ready to battle. "Let's start off with Scratch!"
A determined look crossed June's face when she was ordered to attack. The Tauros looked big and strong, but she could take him! <Here I come!> she cried as she charged forward. When she got close to her opponent, she lifted her right claw to swipe at him.

Gyuki snorted loudly as he stomped the earth his blow had worked, the butterfree was defeated. He was that much closer to winning. His eyes narrowed as the girl brought out her Paras commanding it to use scratch. Gyuki lowered his head allowing the blow to connect sending him sliding back over to his trainer. He shook his head from the powerful blow having purposely lowered his guard to allow a critical to hit to activate his Anger point. He released a loud bellow as anger burned within him. Kagirinai pushed his glasses up as he removed two pokeballs from his right pocket and began to juggle them with one hand giving a bored expression, "Gyuki compress your flame and burn her!" Gyuki bellowed in acknowledgement. He shut his jaw tight as his stomach began to swell. His fur stood on each as his cheeks began to expand. Small tongues of flames escaped from the side of his mouth before he parted his lips. A wall of fire roared forth with such force they sent the Tauros sliding backwards as the flames formed a fireball that expanded the Tauros's own body. It was a simple matter to compress the flames and build them up instead of releasing them. With the immediate release they became a stream of fire that could be easily dodged, but by holding them back it would cause the fire to compress into a large bulk. He made the note to replace Gyuki's flame thrower with fire blast later on. He was hoping by instead of releasing a single stream, that by using the compression it would prevent the Paras from avoiding the attack due to the large area range. With a four times weakness to fire and Gyuki's anger point active if it hit he was hoping it did a considerable amount of damage. If it missed no doubt Gyuki would be out of the game next turn, a pity. Jenna watched carefully as the Tauros prepared his fire attack. It looked like it would be difficult to dodge, but she was going to have to try. If the attack would not do much damage she might have considered allowing it to hit. However, as the potential for damage was great, she wanted to stick to her vow of making the battle challenging and not letting her opponent win so easily, even if that was what he seemed to want. What was the point in facing a battle leader if there was no challenge, right? "Try to dodge it!" she commanded. "If you can't, use Leech Life!" That would help a bit. The Tauros could not stand forever.
It took much effort for June not to tremble as she watched a fiery attack form. If that thing hit her, she knew it would hurt a lot. She calmed slightly at the sound of her trainer's voice. Yes, she could do this. She had prepared. She immediately started zipping around the battlefield to pick up speed and make her better able to dodge. As soon as she saw the attack coming, she ran away from it to avoid it. Unfortunately, she got hit by the tail-end of the attack, harming her slightly. She took a deep breath before turning to her opponent to use Leech Life and get back some of her energy.

Gyuki grunted with pain as the leech life struck draining him off his health bringing it down to dangerously low. He bellowed loudly as the poison took affect sending him crashing into the ground knocked right out. Kagirinai sighed as he stopped juggling his pokeballs catching them in his hand, " Return" he held out one of the pokeballs returning Gyuki to its confines to rest. He pocketed the pokeball before throwing the second up into the air. A beam erupted from the sphere hitting the ground and taking the form of his strongest pokemon, Nidorino. Dokuton bellowed loudly as his spikes glistened in the light of the arena, " Dokuton Poison Jab!" Dokuton bellowed as he lowered his horn allowing it to light up bright purple before he released a barrage of poison needles, one of the good things about poison jab was it had a thirty percent chance to poison the opponent.
