Mr. Knight jogged down the hall, his Sneasel on his heels. He was running late for class. Well, he was running late for being early. He always liked to be in his room before any students. This would be fine, though. He would arrive in time to start the class. He slowed down as he neared the room. Then he opened the door and walked inside. Frost hopped onto his desk and sat down while he took his seat behind the desk. He had just enough time to pull out the enrollment sheet and check who was supposed to be in the class: Nate Kerston, Kiki Jones, Zane Lathurna, Faith Donnellon, and Nanami Tachibana. He was sure this was going to be an excellent class.

Cody the Lillipup ran excitedly down the hall. He loved running around with his trainer. She had said this was not the time to play, but as long as they had to get somewhere, he had to run! Kiki chuckled as she jogged down the hall after him. She would let him be as long as he did not cause anyone any trouble. They were on their way to her contest training class. She was not a coordinator, but she found that she enjoyed contests. She had even won a ribbon! This may not be here future, but it was at least a fun hobby. Cody found the door to the room and sat down before it, wagging his tail. His trainer smiled as she opened the door for him. He bounded inside and looked around for someone to talk to. Meanwhile, Kiki took a seat up front near the middle and waited for her classmates to arrive.

Nanuk the Cubchoo walked uncertainly beside Zane as they made their way down the hall. The ice type was quite shy, which was why his trainer wanted to bring him to a contest training class. Zane was not much of a coordinator, but the class sounded interesting and he had a space in his schedule to fill. "You'll be just fine," he said to Nanuk. If he could learn to perform on stage, then he could do anything. The boy opened the door to the room and bounded inside. The Cubchoo walked in much slower. There was only one other person in the room. Zane smiled brightly at her before sitting down in the front. Nanuk climbed into the chair next to him and looked around cautiously.

Nate and his Shinx, Chelsea, trotted down the hall. It was time for another class. The boy was taking contest training classes to improve his contest skills. He was no an avid coordinator, but he did enjoy the occasional contest. he had heard contests were good experience for breeders like him. He had not used Chelsea in a contests yet, and he hoped this class would help her decide if she was interested. He stepped through the door, nodding at the teacher as he passed. Then he headed to the other side of the room, where he sat in the middle.

Faith held her Fennekin, Amber, in her arms as she walked to class. The fire type was slowly beginning to trust her, and she was allowing her to carry her now. The two of them had been in a contest together but had lost. Amber had seemed to like it, so her trainer thought she would bring her to her contest training class. She held her in one arm as she opened the door and entered. "Hey, guys," she greeted her friends in the room. She sat down next to Kiki and set her Fennekin on the desk in front of her. She smiled at the girl beside her. "How's it going?"

Mr. Knight watched as all the students entered the room. By the time class was to start, he could tell there was one student missing. He knew everyone by now, but he still had to formally take attendance. "Good morning, class," he said as he lifted the attendance sheet in his hands. "Please raise your hand when I call your name. Nate Kerston... Kiki Jones... Zane Lathurna... Faith Donnellon... Nana Tachibana..." He made a not on the paper before setting it down. "Now I'd like you all to give your name, the name of your Pokemon you've brought with you, and if you've ever been in a contest here at Cherilli and how far you got. You already know me and my Pokemon, so someone else can go." He waited for someone to speak up.

Faith stopped talking to her friend and turned her attention to the front of the room when class began. She was very interested in seeing what they would learn today, and she was eager to give her introduction. "I'm Faith Donnellon and this is Amber. I have been in two contests so far. I won the first one, but I lost in the final round of the second one." Still, that was probably better than anyone else in this class. She was proud to have done so well this early in her career. Her mother's success must have rubbed off on her.

Zane thought about the one time he had entered a contest. He had just arrived at the school, so he did not have much time to prepare. Still, the experience had been good for him, and he would learn from it. Contests seemed like a fun hobby he could use to grow closer to his Pokemon. He was eager to share his experiences in his introduction. "Hi!" he chirped. "My name is Zane Lathurna, and this Cubchoo is Nanuk. I have been in one contest, but I did not make it past the appeals round." Next time, he would do much better for sure.

Nate pulled out his notebook and a pen. Then he watched the door as others entered. Soon, it was time for class to start. He listened to the instructions for the introductions and took a minute to think of his answer. His previous experience soon came to his mind, and he was ready to go. "I'm Nate Kerston. This is Shinx, Chelsea. I have been in three contests. The first two I did not make it past the appeals round, the in the second I lost in the semifinals." He was definitely improving. He hoped this class would improve his skills so he could one day win a contest.

Kiki glanced at Faith and offered her a small smile. "Hi. Not bad. Just waiting for class to start. How are you?" They talked for a bit, and then class began. She had always liked Mr. Knight. She was sure this class of his would be as great as the others. Her contest experience? That was easy. "I'm Kiki Jones, and this is Cody the Lillipup." The normal type barked when his name was mentioned. His trainer smiled. "I have been in three contests as well. I won the first and last, and I lost in the final round of the second contest." That was a pretty good record. She had not come to the academy expecting to compete in contest, but it seemed like she had a hidden talent. She would keep that in mind for the future.

Mr. Knight listened carefully to each student speak. He always loved hearing more about them. He could better teach the class if he knew them as individuals! "Very good. Thank you. Now it;s time to go over the syllabus." He picked up a stack of papers and handed a sheet to each student in the room. He spent a few minutes going over the syllabus. Then it was time for class to really begin. He stood in front of the desk as he addressed the class. "Since this is the second level of this course, I would like to access your progress thus far. I will give you 20 minutes to come up with an appeals performance with the Pokemon you have brought to class. it does not have to be too polished; there is no grade. Relax and have fun!" He was eager to see what they could come up with in such a short time. OOC: Nana has been dropped from this class. She may no longer receive credit for it.

Nate took the syllabus when it was handed to him and looked it over. It seemed pretty standard. He was glad when they moved onto the lesson for the day. Mr. Knight wanted them to come up with a performance? He had never performed with Chelsea before, but he was sure he could come up with something. "Let's get to work," he said to the Shinx." He stood up so that he would have room to work. He spent a minute going over Chelsea's attacks in his head and trying to figure out some combinations. "Ok, try using Baby-Doll Eyes and Charge."
Chelsea followed her trainer off to the side. She hoped this would be good training. She was still uneasy about contests. At Nate's words, she sat down and made her eyes look cute while electricity sparked around her from using Charge.

Kiki grabbed the syllabus and scanned it with her eyes. Everything seemed to be in order. She liked how the points were distributed this year. It seemed like they would be getting some more hands on contest experience. This was going to be excellent. She was equally pleased with their first assignment. It was great to start thinking about her next contest. Perhaps she would use Cody after all. "Come on, Cody," she called to her Lillipup. She got up and walked to the left a little so that they could practice. Her puppy scampered over and stood in front of her. "Let's see now... How about we see what your Take Down looks like?" They had not used the attack often, so she did not know if it would work for a performance.
Cody sat down and wagged his tail. Take Down? He could do that! He leapt to his feet and prepared for the attack. He ran forward as fast as he could. He could not slow down and ended up slamming into the wall.

Faith took hold of the syllabus and read it thoroughly. She wanted to make sure she clearly understood the expectations of her class. This was her favorite topic, and she wanted to get everything right. She was eager to become a better coordinator right away, and she was pleased to see that Mr. Knight seemed to have the same idea. She turned to Amber and grinned when they were set loose. "Well, let's do this!" She stood up and pushed her chair in. Then she quickly thought about what she could do with the Fennekin. "Your fire attack works best, so show me a Tail Whip followed by an Ember straight in the air."
Amber gave her trainer a small smile. She was getting used to being around her, and she was slowly beginning to trust her. She did enjoy contests, so she was happy to do as she was told. She stood before Faith and prepared herself. She bent down low and swished her tail back and forth. Then she lifted her head and spat fire balls up into the air.

Zane casually took the syllabus and scanned it with his eyes. He did not take much of it in. It was boring enough to be in class, and he did not want to read something. He could always read it later if he needed to. Most of these classes were the same anyway. The class assignment was a little more interesting. Practicing his contest combinations sounded pretty good. "Let's get to it," he said to his Cubchoo. He stood up and pushed his chair in. "Ok, use Powder Snow." Nanuk did not know many moves, so that was all that could really happen right now.
Nanuk stood on the floor looking up at his trainer nervously. He had never been in a contest before, and he was not sure how he would like it. He had to try it, though, so he stood a deep breath and let out a wind of snowflakes.
