There was a smile on Faith's face as she walked out of her hotel and into Pewter City. She was excited about being in the Kanto region for the first time. Everything was so different here than Hoenn! It was just too bad that the field trip was only for the weekend. She wanted to explore everything! She was not interested in gym battles, and she figured she could look for Pokemon anytime, so she decided to explore the city a bit. She walked along a road, looking at all of the shops and people who passed by. Perhaps she could make a new friend and maybe even have a Pokemon battle! She wondered what contests were like in Kanto. OOC: I want to battle a Kanto NPC. |

 Bursting forth from the nearby foliage was a young boy in a wide brimmed head, green open jacket khaki pants, white shirt carrying a large net. He looked at the young girl with a smirk on his face, "Hey wanna see my awesome bug pokemon! I challenge you!" called the boy his tone full of excitement was he removed a single pokeball from his back pouch. He tossed the pokeball up into the air and out appeared a fierce looking scyther. The powerful bug type pokemon gave a battle cry, "Scy ther, Scy Ther! Scy Scy!" cried the pokemon as he slashed the air with his twin blades.

Faith was surprised when a boy suddenly appeared in front of her. Why was he carrying a net? Was it some sort of Kanto thing? Before she could respond to his question, he was already challenging her. Alright then. It looked like she was having a battle. Hmm... bug Pokemon. She knew that fire was good against bug types, so she pulled out Amber's Pokeball. "Come on out!" She pushed the button to release the Fennekin. "Use Ember!"
Amber yawned before taking in the Scyther. Usually she was not big on battles, but she could take a bug type... even if his scythes looked kind of scary. She took a deep breath and then let it out in a series of fire balls headed straight for the other Pokemon. The Scyther dug his twin scythe blades into the ground as the barrage of tiny fire balls launched forth towards him slamming into his form, the flames scolding his flesh causing him to grit his teeth in pain. He dug his feet into the ground keeping himself steady. He growled as he tore his blades out from the ground sending debris flying out into the air.
The bug catcher swung his net through the air and pointed it towards his Scyther, "Alright Katana utilise your vacuum wave!" cried the bug catcher as he gave his pokemon the command. He received a nod from his scyther as acknowledgement for the command that was given.
The Scyther identified as Katana, most likely due to the sword like blades he had launched forth towards the the Fenniken his blades raised high poised into the air as a swirl of wind wrapped around his twin scythes. He slashed downwards the moment he was in range launching a vacuum wave of wind blades that launched forth.

Faith was pleased with the effects of her Fennekin's fire. Excellent. The Scyther's Vacuum Wave surprised her only because she had never heard of it before. It seemed to be a fighting type move. At least it did not inflict too much damage this time. "Ok, Amber, use Tail Whip and Scratch with a jump!" She thought the boy would see another fire attack coming, so she switched it up. Plus, she used some of her contest moves to make it interesting.
Amber enjoyed her Ember attack. She could not wait to learn more fire moves! This was what kept her training and battling hard. She stumbled backward when her opponent came towards her. The wind caused her to shiver. That was not pleasant! She shook the feeling off and got ready to run. She raced forward on her paws, moving her tail back and forth along the way. When she got close to the bug type, she jumped in the air, planning to Scratch him as she passed him. "Katana stand your ground! Stay strong you can do it!" commanded the bug trainer getting a nod from the Scyther who dug in as the fire type connected with a scratch attack driving him back, ""Follow up with Leer and Quick Attack!" commanded the bug trainer as he grit his teeth and clenched his fists. The bug pokemon roared, " SCYTHER!" as he charged forth using his leer to lower his foes attack before blitzing forth becoming a dangerous blur as he moved all around the Fennikin creating after images of himself before he rushed in from behind. Level: 10 Attacks: Focus Energy, Vacuum Wave, Pursuit, Leer, Quick Attack Abilities: Swarm, Technician, Stead Fast Debuff: Def - Hit By: Tail Whip, Scratch Used: Leer, Quick Attack Health: Low Yellow

"Try to dodge it!" Faith called out. She spoke too late, it seemed. She held her breath as she watched the Pokemon collide. She could still do this. She held the advantage. It was time to try more fire. "Now Ember!" She wondered if this would be enough to take down the Scyther.
Amber jumped back when she finished her scratch attack. The sight of the leer caused her to shiver and freeze in place. She remembered her old habits of being afraid, and she found herself unable to move. She finally snapped out of it when the Scyther rammed into her. Slightly annoyed with herself, she vowed to make up for her mistake. She sucked in a sharp breath and let it out in a fierce ember attack. Bug Trainer Ritchy gritted his teeth as his opponents pokemon continued to stand, "KATANA! Stop messing about and win this already you useless pokemon!" shouted the enraged trainer as he belittled his pokemon beginning to show his real colours, of course he received a glare of disdain from the scyther. Katana glared at his trainer before focusing on the incoming barrage of embers that were headed his way. He decided to ignore his trainer and do his own thing. He let wind spiral around his scythe blades preparing his vaccuum wave attack. Once the embers were in range he swung his blades releasing the wave of compressed wind that tore the embers in half reducing the size of the fire attack by over half. He gritted his teeth as the flames licked across his skin. Faith was impressed with the way the Scyther countered the Ember attack. Maybe it wasn't the Pokemon that was useless. She pushed the thoughts way. That was not a nice way to think. "Alright, try Tail Whip and Scratch again, from the side!" She could see she had to be patient if she wanted to win.
Amber expected her fire to do a lot of damage, but she was surprised to see her opponent block her attack with one of her own. That was not fair! She angrily charged forward, swishing her tail in the process. She moved to the Scyther's left side and held out her left paw to strike him with her claws. The bug trainer gritted his teeth in annoyance, " You useless pokemon" spat the boy as he returned Scyther to the confines of his pokeball. He then removed a second pokeball enlarging it, "Go Crusher!" he tossed the sphere up into the air and in a beam of light appeared a menacing Pinsir. The pokemon raised it's pincer like horns pinching them together as he glared towards the fire type pokemon clearly ready for battle. The pokemon stomped the ground roaring loudly. Level: 10 Attacks: Focus Energy, Vacuum Wave, Pursuit, Leer, Quick Attack Abilities: Swarm, Technician, Stead Fast Debuff: Def -- Hit By: Tail Whip, Scratch Used: Health: ---- Level: 8 Attacks: Vice Grip, Focus Energy, Bind, Seismic Toss Abilities: Hyper Cutter, Mold Breaker, Moxie Hit By: Used: Health: High Green

Faith smiled proudly at her Fennekin. "Great job, girl!" She hoped winning this battle would increase her confidence. She certainly needed it. Now it was time to get another one! "Alright, now use Ember!"
Amber was surprised when the bug Pokemon fainted. Had it really been that easy? Perhaps there was something to this battle thing after all. She turned her head and gave her trainer a small smile. She supposed it was time to continue. Taking in her new opponent, she took a deep breath before using her Ember. Ritchy grumbled to himself about annoying fire types. "Ok, Vice Grip!" This would get that Fennekin for sure. He was not going to lose this one! Crush attempted to block the Ember with his arms but to no avail. He narrowed his eyes at the fire type. Gathering up his strength, he ran right at her. He lowered his head, planning on grasping her with his pincers.

Faith was not intimidated by the bug type. She knew her Fennekin could defeat him. Still, she knew she had to be careful so her Pokemon did not loose confidence in herself. "Use Scratch and then Howl!"
Amber whimpered when she found herself in the strange Pokemon's clutches. Fear almost overtook her, but she was able to latch onto her trainer's words. Gathering all her courage, she slashed at her opponent to free herself. Then she howled while backing away from him. Ritchy growled in frustration. That was it. He was going for his best move. "Use Seismic Toss!" If this did not do serious damage, he did not know what would. Crush stumbled as he tried to follow the Fennekin's movements. She was too fast for him, and he groaned when he was struck. He needed to end this fast. He attempted to grab the fire type so he could lift her in the air and slam her to the ground.

Faith tried to call out to her Fennekin, but her words stuck in her throat. She did not like this attack at all. She had to end this battle quickly so her Pokemon would not suffer serious damage. "Amber, use Ember!"
Amber froze when she saw the bug flying at her. He could do that? Suddenly she was lifted in the air, and she let out a yelp. She was helpless as she was swung around and then flung to the ground. It was a struggle to stand up, but she managed to face the bug again and aim her Ember at him. Level: 13 Attacks: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember, Howl Abilities: Blaze, Magician Hit By: Seismic Toss Used: Ember Health: High Yellow |
