Nate whistled as he strolled through the city. He had enjoyed the Cherilli field trips so far, and he was sure he would like this one as well. He decided to explore the city and see if he could find any city Pokemon. He knew it might be difficult, but he was up for the challenge. If he couldn't find one, he could always find a trainer who he could test his skills against. Either way, it was bound to be a fun day. |

A Dedenne scurried through the streets. Most of her type lived in the forest, but she enjoyed the city because she could find food much easier. Many trainers found her cute and would give her their scraps. She had a good life! Her whiskers twitched when she sensed food nearby. And it was not just any food; it was really good Pokemon food! She ran towards the smell. She soon came across a boy. She climbed up his pant leg and stared at his face. <Food, please?>  Gender: Female Level: 7 |

Nate noticed something coming at him, but it was too small for him to see what it was. Then suddenly, something scurried up his leg. He was surprised at first, but he relaxed when he saw it was just a cute little Pokemon. "Hello there. What do you want?" It looked like he was begging for something, and he could guess what it was. "Hold on a minute." He took his backpack off his back and dug through it. He smiled when he found what he was looking for: Pokemon food he had made especially for his Shinx. Since Dedenne was an electric type, he thought she would like it as well. "Here you go." He poured some food onto the ground. |

The Dedenne squealed in glee. This trainer actually had food! She ran around excitedly. When the food was placed down, she leapt forward and started to stuff her cheeks. Several minutes later, the bowl was empty. The little mouse smiled in satisfaction. <That was good, thanks. Is there anything I can do for you?> She watched the trainer curiously. Nate smiled as he watched the Dedenne consume the food. "I'm glad you like it." It was good to get feedback on his special Pokemon food. He wondered what the electric type wanted when she continued to stare at him. She could not still be hungry. Perhaps she wanted to do something to repay him. There was one thing he could think of. "Would you like to battle? I could use the practice." |

The Dedenne cocked her head to the side. A battle? She supposed that was the least she could do to repay this trainer. He was nice, so she knew he would not go too hard on her. Nate smiled. It seemed like the Dedenne wanted to battle after all. Since she was a friendly Pokemon, he decided to use one of his weaker Pokemon. "This is Manny." He released his Swinub. "Manny, this is Dedenne. You two are going to battle, ok? So start off with Tackle!"
Manny gave the Dedenne a tired smile. <Hello.> He had been woken up from a nap, but he did like meeting new Pokemon. A battle, huh? He supposed he could do that. <Alright.> He took a minute to stretch his body. Then he moved forward to Tackle the electric type. The Dedenne smiled at Manny. <Hello! I bet this will be fun.> She followed his movements with her eyes. She thought she could get out of the way in time, but she miscalculated. Once she was back on her feet, she prepared to use her electricity. Nate noticed that the Dedenne had made a mistake. He thought about taking advantage of this fact, but then he thought better of it. This was just a friendly battle after all. "Sorry. Electric type moves have no effects on ground types. Now, Manny, use Tackle!"
Manny felt something tickle him, but he was not harmed at all. His trainer's explanation made sense. Oh well. He was sure the little electric type would learn. While he had the chance, he moved to use Tackle again. The Dedenne decided to be proactive and plan her attack. She ran at Manny while he came at her. The two of them collided, sending the electric type onto her back. Nate smiled when the Dedenne altered her plan. he was sure she would be good at battles with a little practice. "Manny, use Tackle again!" The Swinub did not know any other physical attacks, so the battle would be pretty basic.
Manny felt good about hitting his mark. He took a little while to get going, but he enjoyed battles if he could go at his own pace. Unfortunately, the electric type struck him at the same time. He took a moment to gather his energy and then attempted to attack again. The Dedenne did not have time to dodge the attack from the Swinub. She was become tuckered out even though she had not taken much damage yet. This was why she needed practice!

Nate waited for the Dedenne to do something. Then he noticed she was already exhausted. He hoped this battle would be good for her. She seemed to have the right spirit. "Tackle!"
Manny took his time moving on the ground. It did not seem like the little mouse would attack him soon, so he took the opportunity to get close to her. Manny moved to the right, but the Dedenne was quicker than him. He let out a small 'oof' as he was struck. He turned towards his opponent and moved towards her to strike back.
