Zane knew it was time to train his Pokemon. He had to win contests or battles to graduate school, and he chose the battle route. However, his Pokemon were not ready to face the first battle leader. He hoped that this cool virtual machine would help him in his current quest. "Tessie, you're first." The Pichu crawled down his leg onto the floor. The boy put a helmet on both of them. Suddenly, they were transported to a white room. What happened next? Zane grinned when he saw the hologram appear. This was going to be so cool! "Ok, Tessie, use Thunder Shock!" It would not do much against the grass type, but what choice did he have?
Tessie bounced up and down on her tail. Ooo... this was a different experience. She would not have to hold back if her opponent was not even real. Sparks flew between her cheeks as she got ready. "Quick, dodge it!" Zane called out. If Tessie's electric moves would not do much damage against the grass type, then he was going to have to use some good strategy. He tried to come up with a plan on the spot. "Use Thunder Shock again and follow it up with Charm!"
Tessie jumped to the right, and the Turtwig flew past her. She turned and stuck her tongue out at him. <Ha!> She released another Thunder Shock. Then she spun around and whipped her little tail back and forth. Zane felt confident about this battle. He and his Pichu could defeat any hologram together! "Alright, now Charm and Thunder Shock!" This was actually kind of fun.
Sparks flew across Tessie's cheeks. her opponent may have been a hologram, but she was still fired up. This time, she was knocked over by the Turtwig. She quickly got up and made herself look cute. How can anyone resist her? Then it was time for another electric attack. The Turtwig was struck by Charm and smiled lovingly at Tessie in response. It did not move after it was hit by the electric attack. Finally, it snapped out of its trance and ran at the Pichu. Zane knew it would be tough to defeat the grass type, but he was up for the challenge. This virtual training room was really giving him some good ideas. "Dodge that and use Thunder Shock followed by Tail Whip!"
Tessie used her energy to dart back and forth, evading the slow Turtwig. When she was a safe distance away, she released her electricity. Then she taunted the hologram by waving her tail in its direction. Zane did not like the slow pace of this battle. There had to be a way to speed it up! There was one thing he could think of that would help. "Now use Volt Tackle!" This should be fun.
Tessie felt powerful against the Turtwig even though it was a grass type. It was not even using any grass type moves! She got on all four paws and ran forward. Electricity formed around her before she smashed right into her opponent's Tackle. Zane was pleased with the power of Volt Tackle. It was only too bad it could not be used often because of recoil damage. "Alright, Tail Whip and then Thunder Shock!"
Tessie jumped up and down in joy. Her own attack had harmed her, but it was worth the cost of such an excellent move. Unfortunately, she was struck by the Tackle as well. She moved her tail as she stood up. Then she prepared one of her thunder shocks. "Keep on going!" Zane called excitedly. The Turtwig looked pretty worn out now, so one good attack should do it. "Use Volt Tackle!" He thought it was worth the risk at this point.
Tessie fell over when the hologram struck her. How did something so fake hurt so much? She gathered her energy as she stood up. She was just about ready to be done with this pest. She focused on her electricity as she raced right at the fake grass type.
