OOC: This thread is for Zane and Tamaki's battle. Zane will go post first. He also has the first move.
IC: After a quick break, Principal Sash made her way back on stage. "We're back, folks! Now it is time for the final realm of the June contest. Please give a warm welcome to Zane from Kalos and Tamaki from Sinnoh!" She smiled as she made her way back to Maya and her seat. |

Zane bounded out onto the stage. He could not believe he was in the contest finals. This was so exciting! Of course he had to choose his partner. "Let's go, Tessie!" The Pichu did a flip in the air and then posed on stage. Tamaki strolled onto the stage with his head held high. He was pleased to be in the finals representing his team. He was sure that he and his Pokemon would have a lot of fun. "Hello," he said to Nate. "I wish you luck. Now, Andre!" He released the Minun, who took his place on the stage. Zane smiled and waved at Tamaki. "Thanks. Me too." So, two electric mouses were battling each other. This was going to be interesting. "Tessie, start off with Sweet Kiss and follow it up with Thunder Shock!"
Tessie smiled at the Minun. <Hello there! I hope we both have fun!> Maybe they could be friends after this. He was kind of cute. She shook the thoughts away and focused on the battle. She kissed the air and then prepared her electric attack. Tamaki thought this would be a fun battle. Electric Pokemon battling each other! It would be hard to get good hits in, but at least contests were not all about winning the battle. He was about to call out an attack when he realized his Minun was acting funny. "Andre, you're not confused, are you?"
Andre smiled and nodded at the Pichu. <Yeah, sure.> He became transfixed at the kiss she put into the air. Did she liked him? When the kiss struck him, he suddenly felt odd. He could not dodge the Thunder Shock, and when he tried to attack back, he ended up hitting himself. Zane smiled in approval. "Great, Tessie. Now Volt Tackle!" This should be a good one. He hoped the judges liked it too.
Tessie jumped up and down excitedly. <Woo!> She knew this was her chance. She took a deep breath and channeled her electric energy. Then she raced forward. Electricity covered her as she neared the Minun. Tamaki winced as the Pichu ran right at his Minun. "Snap out of it!" He called. Unfortunately, the little Minun as unable to dodge. And he still appeared confused after the move. The boy did not know what he could do. His whole plan was messed up now! "Come on, Andre..." Zane grinned. This was so awesome! He had this in the bag. "Tessie, Tail Whip followed by Thunder Shock!" Electric battles were really cool.
Tessie smiled sweetly at the Minun. <What's wrong? Can't move?> she teased. She elaborately moved her tail back and forth for the audience. Then she jumped in the air and released her electricity. Tamki bit his lip while he waited for his Pokemon to move. Finally, it seemed like he snapped out of it. Tamaki let out a breath of relief. "Good. Now use Growl and Spark!"
Andre tried his best to clear his head. Everything slowly started to make sense again but not in time to dodge the Thunder Shock. She shook his body as he prepared his own attack. Growling, he released an electric spark of his own. Zane was disappointed that the Minun could move now. However, his opponent had a lot of catching up to do if he wanted to win. "Alright, now use Charm and Thunder Shock!"
Tessie endured the hit. At least electric moves did not feel so bad. She focused on looking cute to charm the Minun and her opponent. Then she released another one of her Thunder Shocks. Tamaki knew he had to act quickly if he wanted to win this contest. "Now Nasty Plot followed by Spark!" Would it be enough to make up for all the time lost?
Andre was taken in by Tessie's cuteness. By the time he realized what was going on, it was too late. He shook his head to clear it. He had to get serious! He made it obvious he was plotting something and then released another Spark. Zane still felt confident he could win this battle. He already had the head start. He just had to last until the time ran out. "Jump up and use Tail Whip followed by Thunder Shock!"
Tessie hopped in the air but still got hit by the Spark attack. She did a flip in the air while waving her tail. Then upon her descent, she unleashed a Thunder Shock. Tamaki racked his brain for a plan. Unfortunately, he did not have enough contest experience to figure out what to do. He decided to just continue fighting. "Use Nuzzle!"
Andre ran around in circles in an attempt to dodge the attack. However, there was no way he could dodge the Thunder Shock. After he was struck, he headed straight for his opponent. Upon getting close, he leapt at her to nuzzle her. Zane still felt confident about his chances in this battle. Time was almost up, and he was still way ahead. "Tessie, use Thunder Shock one last time!"
Tessie stumbled backwards to get away from the Minun. She found some space and took a deep breath. She calle dupon the full strength of her electric power and then let a Thunder Shock loose. Andre was struck by one more Thunder Shock. This one he could not take, and he fainted on the spot.
"Andre!" Tamaki cried. "Thank you for fighting hard, partner." He smiled at Zane. "Congratulations. You deserve this victory."
