Ah. Was this… the lack of confidence her prey felt? The ekans was suddenly aware of the fact that that, if she didn’t end this soon she might… lose. Huh. What a weird thought. All this time, she’d pushed around the other pokemon of the park--they were all mostly grass and normal types anyway, the occasional fairy or flying type not really posing a threat to her. She felt so warm and heavy. There was so much fire. Sluggishly, she hissed in pain as the latest ember hit her. Everything compounded together, not help that the litleo blasted her already burned portion, earning a critical hit. Her shed skin ability hadn’t activated; it wouldn’t, anyway, unless she let go of the litleo and wriggled so she could actually get rid of her outer layer of scales. Weakly, the ekans tried to bite at Kopa again with her poison sting. An ally of sorts emerged from the bushes. He looked nervous. Here, for a second, he thought he would need to help. However, it looked like, at best, he would just be escorting the trainer and her pokemon out. They seemed to have pretty good sway over the neighborhood bully. <Uh… um, I--I thought you could use the help?> he meekly said. However, he glanced over at the ekans. <But, looks like you might have it covered? D-Ding dong, the witch is dead?> What kind of duo was this, anyway? They were so strong… species: ekans level: 10 attacks: wrap, leer, poison sting abilities: shed skin, intimidate hit by: fire spin (4/5), ember (critical) used: wrap (3/4), poison sting health: red (burned)

Sawyer was surprised when a Spritzee flew out from the bushes. She had never seen a fairy Pokemon before. This one did not seem like a threat. Maybe he had been worried about the battle going on. Sawyer guessed that this Ekans was a bully around the park. She would probably be doing them all a favor by taking her away. She nodded at the Pokemon before turning back to the battle. This was getting close, and she was proud of her Litleo for hanging in so long. "Kopa, use Ember one last time!" She hoped this would finish it. She knew he could not withstand another attack.
Kopa started struggle again in the Ekans' grip. When she made to bite him, she banged his head against hers in an attempt to lessen the blow. He was not sure if it had completely worked, but at least he had evaded being poisoned again. A deep growth emanated from his thread. He was not scared of a silly old snake! He would be victorious! He had the power of fire in his body. With his small mane still giving him strength, he opened his mouth to use Ember once again.

With the final ember, that was the last of the ekans. Her muscles loosened and she fell off the litleo. Lacking eyelids, she merely stared blankly into the world. Her jaw was shut. The flames from the battle slowly died off, leaving the faint pokemon at the mercy of those she had tormented. If there had been any kind of poetic justice or mourning taking place, the spritzee was about to ruin it. <W-WOW, YOU DID IT!!> the pink male cheered. He flew around the trainer and then zipped over to the litleo. ”Impressive, impressive, impressive!!> Twirling back a bit, he looked over the duo. Hopefully, they would take the ekans away. At the very least, they’d taught her a lesson in humility she wouldn’t soon forget. Everyone, and the spritzee did mean everyone, knew she needed it. She’d been terrorizing the park for longer than the spritzee had been alive, actually. <Thanks, much!!>Kopa gained three levels! Kopa learned work up!

Kopa let out a breath of relief when he was finally released from the Ekans' grasp. He stood there, staring down at her. He felt almost dazed. He had done it. He had one his first battle. He was pleased when the Spritzee flew around complementing them. <Why, thank you,> he said, puffing out his chest. <And you are quite welcome.> He knew he could do it! He started prancing around in excitement. However, his fatigue soon caught up with him, and he collapsed on the ground, though he was still conscious.
Sawyer could hardly believe they had won either. What a battle! "Excellent work, Kopa," she said. he really had given it his all. She was sure they would make great partners. They would train hard and make it to the top! She was sort of surprised when the Spritzee started flying around. He sure seemed excited. Right now, she had to worry about the other Pokemon. She frowned as her Litleo collapsed. "I think you need a rest." She proceeded to return him to his Pokeball. Then she pulled out an empty ball. Well, she had fought the Ekans to catch her, so that was what she was going to do. Despite her rough behavior, the trainer would feel bad about just leaving her there. It looked like both battling Pokemon could use a trip to the Pokemon Center.
After tossing the empty ball towards the Ekans, she turned back to the Spritzee. "Hello," she said with a slight smile. She was guessing he was happy about the snake's defeat. "I'm glad to have been of service." She did not like the idea of park Pokemon being terrorized. She would figure out a way to give the Ekans a better life going for a greater goal. Everyone would win in the end.

The spritzee panicked when the litleo simply fell. <Oh no!> He certainly was full of energy, wasn’t he? He was only all too glad to see the ekans disappear into Sawyer’s pokeball. He returned to smiling when Sawyer spoke to him. He flew closer to her, buzzing like a hummingbird. <Well, Miss Hero, I know the citizens of the park would be quite grateful to you. We’d all be very happy to escort you around, if you’d like.> Hm, could she even understand him…? <If you wanna look around more, I’m sure there are plenty of pokemon who’d love a strong, kind trainer like you~!> He was one of them, but she seemed to like tougher looking pokemon. Oh well. His day would come, eventually! He had to focus on making sure the hero was taken care of right now. Speaking of which--! The spritzee held up a wing, almost falling in his actions, before flying off. He dove into the bushes and rustled around for a moment before returning, little feet clutching a berry each. It was two oran berries. <I-It’s not much, because it’s winter… but you two helped us so much! I’d hate for our heroes to still hurt…>You earned 5 points for catching the ekans and 15 for defeating it.

Sawyer watched the Spritzee, wishing she knew what he was saying. He was excited about what she had done; that much she could tell. He was an interesting Pokemon, though not exactly her type. She wondered what else lay around the area. With two Pokemon with depleted energy, it was not like she could catch anything else unless it voluntarily chose to go with her. Still, it might be interesting to at least observe some Pokemon. She watched the Spritzee fly off and wondered if he was leaving. But then he returned - with a gift! She smiled as she took the berries from his feet. "Thank you." These would help at least partially heal her two Pokemon. Then they would be fine with just some rest. The trainer cast her gaze around the park. "What else is there around here to see?" She asked out loud. It was winter, but obviously there was still life somewhere.

The spritzee thought for a moment. He knew a couple of his friends who had also been looking for a trainer. She might have to talk to them and the spritzee would have to vouch for her strength since they hadn’t seen the battle just now, but the ekans she now had should be plenty of proof. He nodded happily and began flying towards the bushes, gesturing to the thicker parts of the park. Nothing more than a few high bushes, but still less open. <Please watch your step.>If she followed him, eventually they would reach a thicket. From it would emerge a duo of pokemon. <Hi, guys!> the spritzee chirped. <I found a really strong trainer, and I don’t think I’m her type… but, but, you should listen to her! You’ll be in luck if she likes one of you!>The scyther raised her head and crossed her arms, not impressed by the stranger’s appearance. <Tch. Don’t get poor baby-girl’s hopes up.>The ralts merely eyed Sawyer, not certain what to make of her. <Oh, she’s got a different sort of hair, like baby-girl.> The ralts focused for a moment, shutting his eyes intently. Most psychic pokemon could, with effort, communicate with humans. <Your story?> he managed, still too unskilled for proper sentences with his mind. species: spritzee gender: male level: 6

Sawyer started to follow the Spritzee. She wondered where he was taking her. She looked around as she walked, taking everything in. This really was quite a cool park. She made a note to return here on a later date. Who needed to get lost in the forest when there was this place? She stopped when two Pokemon emerged. Both of them were interesting, though she could tell they were not too impressed with her. She wondered if the Spritzee was trying to talk her up. Would they listen to him? Maybe the Ekans had bothered them as well. At the very least, they had to appreciate her accomplishment of defeating and catching her.
Sawyer started when she heard a voice in her head. The Ralts must have been using telepathy; that was so cool. Her story? Right. She better explain herself to these two. She straightened up before speaking. "My name is Sawyer Fylan. I am a new Pokemon trainer, and I have chosen a Litleo as my partner. Together, we just defeated that Ekans I believe has been tormenting the park. We are looking for strong Pokemon to join us in our journey." She stopped there, deciding that was enough for now. She waited to see if she needed to say anything more.

The scyther and the ralts both dropped their jaws in awe. <I told you she was strong!> the spritzee proudly chirped, landing on a dead branch nearby. A moment of silence followed before the scyther and the ralts began pushing each other. <You beat her?! We were rivals, how’d you beat her?!> the bug demanded. <She’s got a fire type and a poison type! She needs diversity, back off!> Shoving, the two pokemon began shouting insults at each other, arguing about who deserved to go with the trainer. The spritzee sighed. <They’re… very high spirited.>The third and final member of the party peaked around a corner, yawning a bit. <What’s with all the noise?> Looking plump despite winter, the stunky tried to comprehend the siutation <Uh?>species: spritzee gender: male level: 6

From the looks on the two Pokemon's faces, Sawyer guessed she had been able to impress them. This was good, right? She started to say something, but then the two of them began to argue. A sweatdrop appeared on the side of her head. This was troublesome... and unusual. She had heard of two trainers fighting over a Pokemon but never two Pokemon fighting over a trainer. She decided she needed to intervene. "Guys, calm down," she said as she took a step forward. Maybe it was hopeless.
Her attention was diverted when another Pokemon appeared. It was an unusual-looking Skunky. A shiny, she suspected. Cool. She looked a bit sleepy. "Hello," Sawyer said to her with a small smile. "Er, I'm looking for strong Pokemon. Your friends are a bit too eager to accept." She glanced back at the other two, wondering what she was going to do about this situation.

The spritzee grinned when Sawyer looked towards the stunky. Good. His little friend, despite her shininess, had always had a bit of trouble getting anyone to pay attention to her. Of course, with her narcolepsy, it was a bit understandable. A pokemon who could have muscle weakness when they got too excited wasn’t good, nor did it help that she had very, very odd almost uncontrollable sleep patterns. The stunky nodded when Sawyer spoke to her, yawning and shaking her head in an attempt to wake up fully. <Yeah… sorry. They’re just excited, though.> Wait, did she say she was still looking? That meant the stunky had a chance. She worked hard to keep herself calm, but she waddled over to the trainer, putting her paw up to try and touch the trainer’s shin. ”Do, do you want, maybe you’d like me…?> A soft grin played on her face. Good, she thought, I’m not getting too jittery. It would seriously suck to turn to a puddle of limp stunky at a time like this. That would never impress the trainer. The scyther and the ralts finally stopped their fighting long enough to notice that Sawyer was paying attention to the shiny stunky. The female glared, a bit jealous, while the ralts merely grinned. <That’s baby-girl,> he explained. <So, which of us will it be?> this he broad cast to everyone present. <We could fight to the end,> the scyther suggested, crossing her arms once more. species: spritzee gender: male level: 6

Sawyer bent down when the Stunky touched her. This one seemed different than the others. She appeared friendly and nice, not like what she had heard about other Stunky. And she was pretty, too... in a non-girly way. Sawyer brought her hand down and pet the Stunky's head. She already had a poison type, but this one was dark as well, which she liked. She also had two bold, confident Pokemon. Perhaps it would be best to choose a Pokemon with a different sort of personality.
There had to be a reason a shiny Stunky was still running around without a trainer, though, especially if she wanted one. Sawyer did not think on it much. She knew any Pokemon could become strong with the proper training. This one would likely fit in well with her team. Chemistry was important; they could work on the rest. She stood up and nodded at the Ralts when he spoke again. He and the Spritzee seemed to approve of her interest in the Stunky. In order to prevent a fight from breaking out, she had to makeup her mind. "Would you like to go with me?" she asked the Stunky, smiling down at her.

Struggling to keep herself calm, the stunky lowered herself and rubbed against the trainer’s leg. <I’d love that!> She then stood back a bit, waiting eagerly on the pokeball. What would it feel like? She’d heard it felt like dreaming, but you were aware of what happened outside. Maybe it would help her sleep disorder. More than anything, though, she wanted to go. She wanted to prove that her shininess didn’t mean she was to be put upon a pedestal. She wanted to prove that she was powerful. ”Hehe, Miss Sawyer… my trainer,> she whispered, trying out the sound on her tongue. The spritzee and the ralts both clapped as well as they could. The scyther looked on jealously, arms still cross. <Ugh. Good job, baby-girl. Sawyer smiled when the Stunky rubbed against her leg. This one seemed really sweet. They were going to work out well together. She could not wait to start bonding with all of her Pokemon. "Great."She took out an empty Pokeball, made it larger, and bent down. Then she gently touched the Skunky with the circle on the center of the ball. She watched as the ball opened to suck the Pokemon inside. When the process was complete, she stood up and returned the Pokeball to her belt. Then she nodded at the three remaining Pokemon. "Thank for everything, guys. I'm sure you'll all find good trainers soon." She waved at them as she turned to exit the park. That certainly had been quite an adventure. What else waited in store for her? OOC: 5 points, yes? And this is finished.
