The totodile figured it out. The trainer! The trainer was at fault, here! She opened her big maw, chattering away at Ramses. How dare he try to interrupt a maiden’s quest! This time, however, the totodile was not so foolish as to allow herself to get hit mindlessly. When the bulbasaur tackled her this time, her torrent ability kicked in. Pity she had no water moves. Snorting, she jammed her little hands at the bulbasaur, intent on letting him know if he continued to listen to his trainer, she would have none of this. His growls had suppressed a bit of her strength though. Silly girl still didn’t understand that the bulbasaur was battling for his own pleasure, not out of mindless obedience. species: totodile type: water level: 5 attacks: scratch, leer abilities: torrent hit by: tackle, growl used: scratch health: high red |

The effects of the combo seemed to be working well. As Rameses looked on, it appeared that Bulbasaur was hardly losing a step. There would soon be victory if the pace was kept up. As such, the duo would keep it up. "Ryu, recover from that attack, and do what we've been doing." "Saur!" Ryu again stepped back from the recent attack and countered with an attack of his own. The scratches from the Totodile continued to hurt less. The strategy that Rameses had come up with suit this battle well. Was he still growling at her? She felt as if he were truly trying to intimidate her now, not play or anything. The totodile leered at the bulbasaur as he rammed into her again, still muttering little reptilian noises of indignation. As she landed on her haunches, she swiped at him, clicking her teeth. Anger was in her little red eyes as she glared at the mirroring eyes of Ryu. They were so similar! The attack felt a bit stronger than the last. Ryu was growing weary, and it was likely that the Totodile was as well. Rameses acknowledged this too. He knew that he had to wrap up the battle quickly. Bulbasaur was still fairly new, so he didn't have much battle experience. However, he felt a natural link to his partner. "Alright Ryu, one more time!" "Bulbasaur!" Ryu roared in agreement and charged the small water type once more. With any luck, he would soon be able to finish this. Rameses looked on. Was it time to attempt to catch the Totodile yet? He had no idea. The crocodile was definitely a formidable opponent. This was especially true because Ryu knew none of his grass moves yet. When the final tackle hit, the totodile rolled. She stood, wobbling. Her legs trembled and eventually she collapsed. Her eyes fluttered closed and her breathing evened off. Will you catch the totodile? Earned 15 points for winning.

"Ryu, that was an awesome battle."
Rameses took the Pokeball from his belt and returned the Bulbasaur to the device. He returned that one to his belt, and pulled out a fresh one. The trainer wound up and threw the new Pokeball at the Totodile. The device opened with a flash of light, closed, and began to rock back and forth. With any luck, he would soon have an amazing water type added to his growing roster.

Once again Rameses could be been celebrating. The trainer was putting together an impressive team. Once more, he would have to take his Pokemon back to the Pokemon Center before heading out again. However, this next journey he would not be heading out alone. He made sure to contact Rae to go on with him to where he was headed next. Especially because he had heard where he was headed was not a place one should head off to all alone. Yet, he had also heard about the first gym leader, and if the rumors were correct, his Vulpix would likely not be enough.
