December Smoon { a fire in winter } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today had been rather harsh for the young teenager. Today had been when she said good-bye to her parents as they dropped her off at the school gates and left her here. They said it would help her figure out her future, and come out of her shell. Yet so far it had been rather hard. How is getting shoved around by other kids, and basically being spanked by a pokemon gonna help her with anything? Still she did have her own pokemon now, but she didn't have it out. No instead she was laying on her bed, her stuff already unpacked and put away neatly before she even when to Mrs. Sash's office.
Laying there, she had on a pair of purple Pj's with pink hearts, that looked like they where sketched on there in black pen. Or so that was the pattern anyways, the heart's weren't small either, nor where they super huge. She had no socks on her feet, and her hair was an all over mess. It was even still a bit damp from when she had showered. Now with her face down in her white and black striped pillows, which had an interesting contrast to the pink of her bedspread, and purple of her bed sheets, she found that her behind hurt. Her left side, a little more then her right, and her pride was also a but broken as well. There was an ice pack resting on her backside, and as she laid there she hoped her room mate wouldn't come in and ask questions.. Laying on the side of her bed on the floor was a white blanket with a Lapras on it in dulled colors. The blanket was huge, super soft and warm, but she didn't have it over her even though it was her family. No instead she just laid there in bed crying to herself. This day had been rather rough of her, in away she felt defeated.

Dawn had been gone most of the day, shopping for treats. Why? She was getting a new dorm mate! Part of her was upset at her sudden lack of space, but she was mostly excited. Why? She would finally, finally have female friends. She didn’t like to indulge too much, but she figured tonight could be an exception. Carrying tri-flavor ice cream and iced biscuit sticks in one hand and her room key in the other, she hoped her potential friend was already here.
She grew excited when she saw the lights on from under the door. Quickly unlocking the room and bursting in, she yelled in greeting. ”Surprise~! Hi, I’m Da--” Oh. The blue haired girl’s eyes widened and she almost dropped the groceries in shock. The new girl was crying. Not the best at comforting but more than determined enough to make up for it, Dawn quickly shrugged off her jacket and tossed it onto her bed with the snacks.
Shutting the door so that no one nosy (she was the only one allowed to be nosy, thanks) could barge in, Dawn turned her attention to the other girl. ”Hey, what’s wrong?” She went through a mental list of what could have possibly happened to the stranger. In any other situation, Dawn might have rolled her eyes and ignored the girl. A combination of female-companion loneliness, eagerness to make new friends, and an awareness that she would be sharing this room with this girl led to Dawn being much more compassionate than she’d normally be. ”Hey, sssh, come on. What is it?”
Was it a bully, already? Hm, Dawn might not be able to do anything about that, but she knew a few people she could probably turn against pretty much anyone. Thank Arceus people were so easy to manipulate and society had such blatant expectations otherwise she herself wouldn’t be able to get by.
... was that an ice pack on her butt? Dawn raged a bit inside. "THEY BETTER HAVE ASKED PERMISSION!!" Her mind had automatically jumped to harassment. Poor December; the blue haired girl's sudden jump from perky invites to concerned sisterliness to seemingly random rage was probably a bit much. Dawn was very passionate.

December Smoon { a fire in winter } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the time her room mate burst through the door she was almost asleep, almost. Yet at the sound of the door opening Ember reached down to pick up her blanket on the ground. While she throw it over herself she heard what the girl said and shot up. "Why the *** would I give ANYONE permission to attack me!" The girl found herself yelling, but then she became real quiet and looked away, The ice pack fall on the bed as she shifted and winced. "I am sorry." She then whispered as she looked away from Dawn and at her bedding. Pulling the blanket up she wrapped it around herself. "If you just know I was attacked by a pokemon, who wasn't very happy with me not dancing with it." As she remembered that Buneary, she allowed a few more tear to fall down her face.
Turning back around she laid back down on her stomach and mumbled into her pillows. "Stupid Sash and her Buneary. Why would she have matched me up with that one. I hate this school." There it was that emotional inner core that she keeps out in the open to shield herself when just staying quiet and acting depressed didn't work. Taking a deep breath she let out a deep sigh before she sat up again and looked at her room mate. "I am December." She said, and a click could be heard as the girl pushed the button on her pokemon's pokeball that she had with her under her pillow.
As the yellow pokemon came out a friendly 'Sandshrew' was given as the pokemon then turned and hugged her trainer before turning around to look curiously, and calmly at Dawn. "And this is Sandy. Sandy this is our roommate, um...Da girl with blue hair?" She said softly and quietly as she attempted to make a joke, but it was rather bad. "I am sorry forgive me I don't know your name, and I shouldn't try to joke about you. I am sorry please don't hate me." She quickly said as she bowed her head to Dawn, and looked at the ground. Please don't hate me, please don't hate me. She kept thinking over and over again to herself.

Wait, it was an attack?! Dawn was gonna get her roommate up and head straight to the police station! A report needed to be filed, an investigation needed to be st--it was just a pokemon that did it. The blue haired girl calmed a bit. And, here she had been on the verge of calling out the lowlife which had sunk so low as to harassing a high school girl.
”Oh,” was all she could really say. ”I’m sorry.” For what? It was more of a reflexive sympathy thing. ”That’s stupid. Bet the dumb thing couldn’t even lead.” Was that her attempt to comfort December? Probably the best Dawn could do.
The blue haired girl grinned when her roommate finally seemed more prepared to greet her. ”Nice to meet you, December.” Oh, pretty! ”That’s a lovely name.” The beginning of winter, the season of so many holidays. What a wonderful name. She grinned at the sandshrew. ”Hehe, I’m Dawn. It’s really okay~”
She suddenly remembered what she’d brought. ”Oh yeah, I wanted to greet you properly! Here!” She whirled onto her bed and dropped the gallon of ice cream and the box of pocky onto December’s bed. She scrambled for her pokemon’s pokeball. ”Psyche, please keep December entertained for a moment. I forgot the spoons!”
With that, the girl rushed out. There had to be some clean spoons in the kitchen, right?
The kitten, for her part, merely looked up at the duo. She’d caught the end of the joke. <Nice. It’s always good to have a comedian around. What about you, Goldie Scales? You got any jokes?> She really meant it. Psyche was a little warrior, but she enjoyed a good laugh just as much as the next cat.

December Smoon { a fire in winter } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the other girl spoke Ember took a deep breath. She seems a little - hyper. The maroon colored hair girl thought to herself. Smiling she looked at the things that where handed to her, or rather tossed to her and spoke. "Oh, um, I have something for you t--" She really did it was in her drawer, but she wasn't really able to finish what she was saying before the other girl let out her pokemon and ran odd.
"Hi, Psyche was it?" Decemeber then asked the cat pokemon as she looked at the Skitty. Smiling she reached over to the sidetable and pulled out the little box that was wrapped in purple and white wrapping paper, with a white bow on it. Looking at the thing she hoped her new room mate would like what was inside of it. What was inside of it? Well it was a bracelet. It was gold with white colored gems on it. Of course the gems where fake, but it was still shiny and pretty. In all honesty it was something she had brought because her sister June thought it might help her make friends and stuffed it into her suitcase.
Looking at the Skitty again as it asked if she had any more jokes she just lowered her head into her hands and shook in a no. Sandy on the other hand looked at the cat and smiled. <Um what do you call a plusle and minum in a blanket?> The yellow pokemon said as she tried to be funny, but jokes weren't normally her thing. Giving the cat time to reply she smiled and said. <Static cling.> Then gave a small chuckle at the end.

Aw, cute! This one embarrassed easily. Psyche was going to make certain to make it a point to make this one blush as much as possible~ The cat was kind of bad, wanting to make girls hot red, wasn’t she? Regardless, Psyche cackled at Sandy’s joke. <Not half bad, Goldie Scales!> She’d heard, through her pokeball, that the sandshrew was named Sandy. Was she gonna use that name? Nah, unless one of them got the nerve to make the WARRIOR QUEEN do so.
Dawn returned, panting heavily. A light flush from running so much covered her cheeks and she felt a bit dizzy. Her endurance was pitifully low, but given her weight, it was logical that she’d be about pathetic when it came to physical strength. ”Found them~” She held one out to December. As soon as the girl took one, Dawn would point to the bed, silently asking permission to plop down by December.
If the permission was granted, the blue haired girl would gently get up on the bed with the duo, her skitty jumping up to land in Dawn’s arms. ”So, you wanna talk about it, or you just wanna pig out and pretend today didn’t happen?” Ah, yes, the sacred ritual of girl time. Healing with ice cream, sweets, and gossip. At least, Dawn hoped there would be gossip. She had some stuff to share, though December might not, being so new. Finally, the blue haired girl noticed the wrapped present box. ”What’s that?”

December Smoon { a fire in winter } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December smiled towards the cat pokemon as she and Sandy seemed to be getting a long okay. Pushing her hair back behind her ear she looked down and then back up as she heard Dawn coming back. "Oh, are you okay?" She asked as she heard the heavy breathing. Someone needs to run more. She thought to herself for a moment then shook her head to clear it of mean thoughts. No, no, no she couldn't think such things about her roommate. Taking a spoon she nodded her head when Dawn asked to sit down. "Oh, yes of course." She said as Sandy sat down on the pillow next to her while Dawn and her pokemon sat down with them.
This was nice. December didn't really have friends back home. Sure she had maybe one or two people she could chat with, but they where just the kids of her parent's friends. Or her nieces and nephews, but out side of them she had no one. Not even her youngest older sister November who was two years older then her. Why? Well Nov was off with her pokemon in some pokemon rock band the Aron Crew where she played the base, then again it was also the band her brother August sung in as co-lead singer with their sister July. Sighing as she thought about her cool older sisters, and her two older brothers she looked down at the ice cream.
Looking up as Sandy put her hand on her shoulder, Ember looked at the pokemon before looking at Dawn. She had heard the question, but she was trying to figure out how she wanted to answer. Did she really want to take a chance at a possible wonderful friendship with this girl? Or did she just what to say hidden in her normal shell.
"Pretending today never happened would be great, but then tomorrow would just be weird." She mused as she took a spoonful of ice cream and ate it. She left it in her mouth for a few seconds as she tasted it. "Mmmm..." She said softly before she took the spoon out and swallowed. "I have just been pushed and shoved, by kids. Beaten by a Buneary and laughed at by a Minum." She said in a shame filled voice as she looked down and shook her head. That made Sandy reach over and hug her. Looking back up she pretended to smile just so she didn't make Dawn think she was as big as a loser as she seemed. "So perhaps pretending today didn't happen would be a good thing." She added as she then looked down at the box as it was asked about. Picking it up she handed it to the blue haired girl. "Oh, it is for you. My sister June thought it would be a good offering to give to my roommate so she stuff it in my suitcase." She said as she rubbed the back of her head.

Dawn opened the box of biscuits and bit off the very end of it. Nibbling in an attempt to pace herself, she listened to her new friend. She was glad December seemed to like Dawn’s ice cream choices. The prissy girl didn’t allow herself to indulge in sweets too often, so she had to go with old, reliable choices. However, the happy feeling was gone when December mentioned that she had actually be bullied. Dawn had a few bigger, badder friends--she might mention to them to look out for December when she was around. At any rate, Dawn would be sure to stick to the girl from now on. The blue haired girl was short, delicate, and about as unintimidating as it got, but she was manipulative, catty, and not above crossing moral boundaries if she felt the need--all of these things made her a dangerous enemy in a high school.
”Tch. Jerks,” she muttered, thinking of those who had harassed December. ”I dunno what the buneary’s problem was, but minun are always bad news! Plusle, too.” Dawn’s bias was showing. Big time. Taking another bite out of her pocky, Dawn glared at the wall, unsure of how to comfort December but deciding that the sandshrew was doing a better job than she probably could. However, once Ember smiled, Dee Dee relaxed a bit. ”Whatever you want,” she agreed. If anyone bought yesterday up to December, then Dawn was going to make it a point to find out something ugly, dirty, and horrifically embarrassing about that person. She was the alpha female, but she tried to watch after her friends. Tried.
Dawn took the gift, lips forming a small ‘o’ of shock. ”Aw, that’s so sweet~” Even if it had been June who planned it, December was still the one who offered it. Dawn unwrapped the present, wondering who in the family had done the wrapping--it was lovely. But, not as lovely as the bracelet. Dawn cooed at it before taking it out and sliding it on her own wrist. ”December, thank you!” Now, here came the moment.
The moment when December would learn that Dawn had about zero issues with invading another’s personal space, as long as they weren’t trying to intimidate her… of course, that only applied to people she knew. Left unchecked, the blue haired girl would reach over to give the maroon haired girl a full on hug, leaning over the snacks. ”I’ve totally gotta get you something in return.” Wait, hadn’t she thought about friendship bracelets earlier on that date with Rae? Oh, it was finally happening. Sitting back into place, Dawn got lost in dream land. ”Oh… maybe I should find a complementary one~?”
Subtly, Psyche slapped Dawn with her tail. <Pardon my idiot. She. She gets very excited over making new friends and such.>
Drawn back into reality, Dawn tilted her head cutely and began asking personal questions. ”So, tell me about your home life! Are you from Sinnoh, too? I’m from Twinleaf, past Jubilife City and Sandgem Town.”

Ayame walked through the hallway, looked at each room number hoping to find her room... Room 401. Not knowing that there was people she would have to share the room with, she tried the handle. It wouldn't open.
Her Buizel had ran after her, probably got lost like Aya. He looked up at her expectantly.
"C'mon Bruiser! Help me!" She said playfully. She was banging on the door, making a riot. The door wouldn't budge, and the Principle didn't give her a key. "Waaaah!" She cried out. (Not actually crying.)
Her Buizel flopped down beside her, letting out a puff of exhaustion.

Listening to Dawn she nodded her head agreeing with her. After the time she had, oh yea evil little things they where. Then again Ember is a follower not a leader so she is more then likely to agree with whatever is being said. "OOOh" She then said in a bit of a surprised voice as Dawn reached out and hugged her. Of course since hugs where being given Sandy had to get in on that and tried to hug Dawn's Skitty, and Dawn, and December all at the same time, but mostly the other pokemon. At the thing about getting her a gift she looked down and blushed again. Her hair fell into her face she she tucked it slowly back behind her ear as she spoke. "Umm...you don't have to do that." She said shyly, but then was very glad with Dawn's pokemon snapped her out of that state she had been in.
"Well I have lived in every region. You see while my father worked we traveled around a lot. I was born in Celadon City in Kanto, but we moved to Aspertia City in Unova by the time I was two years old, then when I was five we moved to Anistar City in Kalos, um when I was seven we then moved to Fallarbor Town in Hoenn, but we only lived there for three months until we moved to Canalave City were we lived until I was nine. Sinnoh really was the place I liked to live the most which is way I wanted to be on team Sinnoh. Well, I honestly didn't want to come to this school, but my parents made me." She said in a sigh as she took a breath and looked at Dawn and the pokemon on the bed before she went on again. "Then when I was nine we moved to Blackthorn City Johto and stayed there for two more years. It was at age eleven that my dad retired and we moved back to Celadon City." She said with a nod of her head. "My sisters February, we call her Febby for short, and September, who we cal Emma for short live in Sunyshore City with their husbands Kyle, and Bart thought."
Looking back at Dawn she then realized it was probably odd to hear all these people named after months in the year. "Oh um. Yea I have eleven siblings all older then me. Two of them brothers, August and October twins who we cal Gus, and Toby. Um, my brother August is in a band with my sisters November and July. Not sure if you have heard of them - the Aron Crew?" Finally the girl who took a chance and opened, but might have just been long winded now took a breath and shut up. Taking another bite of the ice cream she sat there and opened the floor up to Dawn to get a word in. It was then that she heard a lot of noise from outside. "Oh." The girl said as Sandy got off the bed and ran over to open the door. "Oh dear." She then said softly as she too got up and helped the Sandshrew open the door. "Hello?" She questioned as she looked at the girl and her pokemon who where outside the door.

Psyche nuzzled the sandshrew back. Group hugs were fun! Kicking butt and taking names was more fun, but, hey, this was nice, too.
Dawn listened with intense attention. She grinned wildly at December’s tale. How exciting! Going to all those regions, living in all those different houses! And, with all those siblings, to boot! As an only child, Dawn envied those who had brothers and sisters. However, her heart went out to December when the maroon haired girl mentioned not actually wanting to be here.
I’m going to make this the best school year ever for you!! Dawn vowed in her heart.
”I bet your house is really lively,” she chattered. Not at all like Dawn’s own home. The Berlitz house was neat, organized, and tidy, almost demure. Between Johanna’s regal manner and Dawn’s too-pretty-for-this-nonsense nature, both females kept the house looking and feeling like something out of a magazine--elusive, beautiful, and cold. ”... aren’t they that one up and coming rock band?” Dawn chirped. She didn’t really listen to that type of music, but she could swear this one hyperactive blonde kid back in her hometown had mentioned them once.
Dawn was about to explain her own home life when someone started banging on the door. Dawn looked at it in disgust. ”Wow, rude much?” she grumbled. Dawn meant it towards the stranger, naturally, and crossed her arms on the bed, pocky and ice cream forgotten for the moment as she looked over at the girl who waited outside.
Maybe it was because they were entirely too similar that Dawn at once felt the hairs on the back of her neck prickle. Two opposites attract and two similars repel, probably. ”Pigtails, is there any reason to be that loud?” This stranger was pretty and all, but Dawn could already tell they were probably going to be foils. Thank Arceus December’s going to be in the room. I’ll be able to resist getting too catty with her around.

Ayame wiggled her foot and straitened herself up while sitting outside. She taught Bruiser a hand game, she went through slowly.
"Cheri - berry - is - the - name - of - the - game - if - you - mess - up, - you - got - to - have - a - berry - to - say.
Buizel was intent on her hand movements, staring at them with every move. Ayame gave a cute, "Kya!" As the door opened, to her surprise. She jumped up and scratched her head. Ayame looked at the girl at the door, and the other one that was more in to the dorm.
"People?" Ayame didn't expect people inside the dorm, especially because most of the other dorms were complete empty. She glanced back and forth between the people in the room and herself.
She backed away, her -GRAY- and -OUTDATED- and teal outfit swishing in the wind. (referencing Dawn's Blog.)
"Ahahahahaah! I must've been mistaken, I though that I would get my own dorm..." She sweat dropped and apologized.
She sighed for a second, then Dawn spoke,
To Dawn's comment, "Pigtails? EXCUSE ME." Ayame walked up to Dawn and pointed to her face-framing strands. Aya couldn't help but to be mean,
"What are these, Hypocrite?"
She stopped herself, after all there was another girl in the room. Ayame needed a reason for banging on the door. She dug through her Phanpy Pack (haha pokemon puns) and pulled out a slightly crumpled paper.
It has some info on it liker Aya's horoscope, Aquarius, and her blood type, A. At the bottom it had some print.
This student is to temporarily live in Dorm 401, until either/or student is done with their classes or has enough money to move out.
She gave a smirk at Dawn.

December was starting to draw back into her shell with all the nose, and bickering going on between her roommates. Well it was more like the two where trying to figure out who the real alpha female was and their battling field was over hair. "Bangs?" Ember then squeaked at Dawns defense. Hmmm... she was very unsure about this new girl. Her pokemon was cute though and as December was passed and the teal haired teen went to Dawn and pointed stuff out, Ember saw Sandy her Sandshrew walk over to the water pokemon. <Hi, I am Sandy welcome to dorm room 401.> The pokemon said kindly.
However, Ember just waited her new roommates for a while while they talked. It wasn't until the teal haired one took out her paper and pointing it out that she spoke up. "You should have gotten your key from the lady in the office when you first arrived and signed in at the school." She said softly and shyly. She was like a mouse as she spoke. Her face turning red as she looked at the ground then at the girl, and then at the floor again.
Standing there she played with her fingers pushing them together as she started to go even more back into the shell that Dawn had dug her out of moments ago.

Her own dorm…? What did this girl think she was, freakin’ royalty? That was Dawn, naturally. The spoiled princess. However, the sparks flared in earnest when Ayame decided she was going to get in Dawn’s face. Sliding off the bed and glaring up, fists balled up.
Her favored roommate’s attempt to defend the navy blue haired teen was lost to Dawn. She was on a war path. ”It’s called a hime cut, idiot! It’s traditional and I happen to like the style!” Yes. Wonderful. Truly all girls got along in an endless game of flower crowns and gossip. Mm-hm. ”And, if you so much as get in my face again, we’re gonna have real issues.”
December was certainly right. Alpha female vs alpha female. The short girl was so focused on making sure that Ayame knew her “place” that she all but ignored the maroon haired girl.
Sighing, Psyche hopped over to December’s side. <I’d stay out of it if I were you.>

Bruiser looked at Sandy, sniffing her. <Thanks.> He answered back. <Ayame is sure messing it up again, heheh. I hope she doesn't pull out her leek again.> Bruiser walked to December and Psyche. <Sorry about my trainer.>
Ayame continued bickering with Dawn, passionate not to lose the argument.
"Traditional! More like ancient!" Ayame didn't exactly think of herself of an Alpha female, but Dawn's quick judgement got her angry. Well, yeah she was banging on the door... but still. Since they introduced 'the teams' and split up the dorms, everything seemed quite empty.
"Issues? You are a mere pest in my life!"
Ayame turned around in resentment.
