The Hippopotas was too weak to dodge the Tackle, and the Leer had made it shiver with fear. Chelsea struck it, sending it falling to the white floor. It did not even try to get up, for it had fainted. It slowly disappeared while a mechanical voice, invisible in the room, said, "Congratulations, you have won. Take your helmets off if you are finished."  Hippopotas Level: 6 Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack Hit By: Leer, Tackle Used: Health: -- Chelsea has gained 2 levels.

"Great job!" Nate said with a smile when his Shinx had won. "Let's try one more, ok?" He took off his backpack and searched it for something in particular. He soon found it, pulling out a potion bottle. "Here, take this." He held the bottle out to his Pokemon. The potion would restore a little bit of her power. He hoped it would be enough.
Chelsea smiled tiredly when she won. That had been fun. She was defiantly up for another round. <Thanks,> she said to her trainer. She gratefully drank all of the potion. That was much better. Now she was ready to battle again. She stood her ground as she waited for another opponent to appear.

Nate examined the Sandshrew for a minute. It was pretty cute. Too bad it was not a wild Pokemon he could catch. He glanced down at Chelsea. "Are you ready?" She had not learned any new moves yet, so it was probably best to stick to the same strategy. "Use Leer and Tackle!"
Chelsea's paws were itching to battle. She used Leer against the Sandshrew. She hoped that scared it sufficiently! Then she ran towards him, her head low to strike her target.

The Sandshrew shivered at the Leer. It curled up into a ball in order to protect its weak spots as it was hit by the Tackle. When the attack was over, it uncurled itself and brought its claws out to scratch Chelsea. Nate was not pleased when the Sandshrew curled into a ball. He could guess what was going to happen next, and he could not allow it. "Quickly, skirt around it and use Tackle." There was no time for anything else. This would have to do for now. They would weaken it a little bit at a time.
Chelsea felt like she had run into a large ball. Then her trainer's words hit her ears. She had no time to think about the instructions. She quickly ran around the Sandshrew, effectively dodging its attack. Then, still, moving, she came back in close for another go at a Tackle.

The Sandshrew did not have a chance to dodge. It fell to the floor but quickly got back up. It turned on the Shinx and opened it's mouth, shooting out poison. The Shinx was hit by the attack, but she did not appear to be poisoned, which relieved Nate. It would have been detrimental to her if she had been. "You alright?" he said. "Use Leer and Tackle now." He hoped the combination would work from their new angle. He needed to do something to quickly lower the Sandshrew's health.
Chelsea tried to dodge, but some of the poisonous darts hit her. It hurt a bit, but she did not seem to be too damaged. <I'm fine,> she said to her trainer. This Pokemon was a challenge, but she was willing to take it on. She used Leer against her opponent before moving to Tackle it.

The Sandshrew's defense was lowered from the Leer and could not dodge the attack. It got back up on its feet only to crouch down and used its hands to bring up sand into the eyes of Chelsea. Then, it curled up into a ball. As a ball, it rolled towards Chelsea in order to roll into her continually.

The Sand Attack was not good. Nate knew it would make it difficult or Chelsea to dodge and attack. Then he got an idea. "Chelsea, listen with your ears for the Sandshrew. Then run and intercept its attack with a Tackle." If she was going to be hit, then they were both going to be hit.
Chelsea closed her eyes when the sand flew up. She hated that attack. She did like her trainer's idea, though. Her ears twitched as she listened for movement. She smirked when she heard the direction the Sandshrew was coming from. She turned that way and ran straight toward it. She would get hurt in the process, but at least her opponent would suffer some damage as well.

The Sandshrew could not avoid the Tackle. It crashed right into her, and the force from both of their attacks caused it to be pushed backwards and land on its back. It took a moment but it got back to its feet very slowly. It attempted to run towards her to scratch her again, though it was slower than before. "Quick, dodge it!" Nate exclaimed. He let out a sigh of relief when she was able to do so. He did not know if she would have been able to endure one more attack. It was time to finish this. "Ok, now use Leer and Tackle once more!" He hoped this would be all it would take to defeat the Sandshrew.
Chelsea was able to scamper out of the way , barely missing the Sandshrew's claws. That was close. Even though she had little energy left, she was still ready to go. She wanted to win this and prove she could overcome anything! She leered at her opponent. <Let's see if you can take this,> she said tauntingly. Then she sprang forward to tackle it.

The Sandshrew shivered at the Leer and was unable to dodge it. It fell onto its back and did not get up. A moment later, it fainted. "Congratulations, you have won," a mechanical voice said. "Take your helmets off it you are finished."
Chelsea has gained 2 levels. She now knows Charge.
Nate has earned 40 points for Team Sinnoh!
OOC: Wow, Charge still doesn't give you an electric attack move... Why would that be learned before a real electric attack? O__o |

After colliding with the Sandshrew, Chelsea collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. That had been hard work, but she was proud of herself for succeeding in the challenge. She hoped for many more great adventures in the future.
Nate smiled at his Shinx. "That was great, Chelsea. You deserve a nice, long rest." She really had put up a great fight against two opponents. They could continue their training later. After taking the helmets off returned her to her Pokeball and then chose his next Pokemon. In a flash of light, and Eevee appeared. "Are you ready to fight, Watcher?"
Watcher smiled and swished his tail as his trainer put a helmet on him. <I'm ready!> He loved training. He wanted to become great at battling so that he could help Nate win. When the white screen appeared, he stood ready for his opponent.
