OOC: This is for Kiki and Yami's battle. Kiki will post first and will have the first move. IC: It was finally time for the final round in the spring semester tournament. The two students competing were from Johto and Hoenn. Principal Sash could not wait to find out who would be the champion. There was a bounce in her step as she made her way to the battlefield with Maya. "Hello, folks!" she said cheerfully. "It's finals time! Please welcome Kiki from Johto and Yami from Hoenn!" As everyone clapped and cheered, she and her Vulpix stepped back to make space for the trainers. |

She had done it. Kiki had made it to the final round. The road getting here had been tough, but she had made it through until the end. There was a confident smile upon her face as she entered the battle area. She was ready for this. She decided to stick with her strongest Pokemon since she had already gotten her that far. When she was in her place, she pulled out the correct Pokeball, saying, "Here we go, Alice."
A pretty Bayleef appeared in front of her. Alice looked back at her trainer and smiled. <Let's do this.> Her gaze traveled to where their opponent would emerge. She did not care who it was; she was in this to win.

Yami ran his fingers through his hair as he entered into the battle arena. He had changed his appearance going with a more formal look for the occasion. He was wearing a long flowing silver and green silk kimono that flowed down past his knees to his ankles the fabric touching the floor as he walked. The sleeves of his kimono were white, the shoulders green with two green stripes running down the front and back over the legs where the rest remained white. The front past his legs was cut open in a v with a portion of fabric removed revealing the silver and green hakama pants he wore beneath. Tied around his waste was a silver and green kaku obi sash with a touch of gold tied in a beautifully presented bow at the back. His hands were covered by silk gloves of silver with green lining. Hanging from his shoulders was a long flowing Haori decorated in silver and green, the sleeves were a brilliant shade of silver while the remained remained green with gold designs of a golden dragon and flowering garde woven into the back. His hair was done up in a high ponytail with a ribbon of silver. His foot were had changed to a unique pair of shoes of silver and green to match his clothes. He walked with grace giving him the air of a young noble prince. Yami made his way to the arena eyeing his opponent with a calm gaze as he reached into the pocket of his hakama pants removing a masterball. Normally one would assume a masterball would be storing an incredibly powerful pokemon, the truth was this one continued a pokemon who he had chosen not to battle as he was eager to leave the place of its capture. Yami expanded the size of the pokeball and spoke to his foe in a soft, soothing and calm tone almost regal, "Pleasure to meet you upon this field of battle. I Hateshinai, Yamijin shall graciously accept thy challenge" he said as he extended his right arm, " Kage (Shadow)" a beam of light shot out of the sphere as it began to take the shape of his majestic absol. The pokemon landed on the ground his paws striking the ground as he released a powerful howl that held the strength to shake one to their core. Kiki smiled and nodded in greeting to Yami."Nice to meet you too." He seemed much more pleasant and engaged than her previous opponent. His Pokemon seemed very interesting as well. She prepared herself for a great battle. She had the first move, and she thought quickly about what she wanted to do. She decided to go with Alice's new attack both because it was powerful and it did not miss. "It's time to shine, Alice. Use Growl and Magical Leaf!" She grinned as the battle began.
Alice gave the Absol a small smile. <Hello,> she said politely. <Good luck.> He seemed strong and able. This was going to be fun. She nodded in approval at her first move. She growled as fiercely as she could to lower her opponent's attack power. Then she gathered up her grass energy and used it to send interesting leaves flying towards her opponent. It was kind of cool to watch them spinning in the air.

Kage roared as the wave of magical leaves flew towards him. He could attempt to incinerate them but he wouldn't reveal that move quite soon. Kage steadied himself as the leaves collided after the growl. He sneered as he felt his offensive powers decrease, though it would do no good especially with his move set. While he disliked humans he had to thank his trainer for teaching him those five moves through the use of a Tm, if not he would never come to know them. The dark type pokemon stood tall releasing a roar as a battle cry as he first used leer to try and bolster his attack by lowering the enemy foes physical defence. Now it was time to repay the kind favour she had by using a non evading move himself. His eyes began to glow as an aurora of white began to release itself around his body forming long streaks as he charged forth becoming a blur of white. His paws touched off from the ground as he quite literally flew through the air towards the grass type in order to use the flying based move. Kiki raised her eyebrows slightly when the Absol attacked without a command from his trainer. The same thing had happened in her previous battle. What were they teaching the students in Hoenn? She was not sure if she liked this method of battling, but she supposed it had its advantaged and disadvantages. She would stick to her own strategy. "Alice, Reflect and Razor Leaf!" She was grateful for the Reflect attack that would save the grass type a lot of damage. If she could get it in, Synthesis would also be great.
Alice stared at the Absol calmly. His Leer had basically cancelled out her Growl, but that was fine. She put up her light shield to help her not take as much damage. She was surprised that the dark type knew a flying type move. That knowledge made her wary of what else he might know. She was going to have to keep her guard up. It hurt when the attack hit, but she quickly recovered. She backed away a bit before sending her Razor Leaf at the other Pokemon.

Absol dug his claws into the battlefield as he calmly awaited for his opponent to attack. The Bayleef had been commanded to utilise her reflect and razor leaf, at least with her trainer giving commands it gave him the ability to know briefly what there strategy was but they wouldn't know his. He grinned as his muscles tensed when the barrage of razor sharp leaves was released. He would calmly wait and continue a combined use of his Leer and Aerial ace as they would do for now, no need to reveal his flamethrower and ice beam just yet. He would let them come to know his moves before he took the chance to surprise them. At least with using aerial ace first he had the chance to do some serious damage as it could be dodged. He shut his eyes as the leaves compacted against his white fur wounding him in the process. His eyes snapped open as he leered forth to lower her defence. White streaks erupted around his body as he flew forth with Aerial Ace again, with his super luck ability his move had the potential to do extra damage. Kiki could tell that the Absol was going to use Ariel Ace again. It was unfortunate that that attack was unavoidable. Well, she better make the best of it. "Use Razor Leaf and Growl!" Their opponent had used Leer, so Growl was needed to balance everything out again. Razor Leaf had been used to do some damage when the Pokemon was not in a position to dodge.
Alice was glad that her attack had not missed. If she kept chipping away a little bit at a time, she could win this. She braced herself when the Absol Leered again. This was not good. As he came towards her for another Ariel Ace, she sent her leaves spinning at him again. She hoped that hurt! She was struck and fell back. She tried not to show her pain as she stood up and growled at the other Pokemon.

Absol slid backwards as the leaves slammed into his body messing his beautiful white fur up. He scowled as this and shook his body causing his fur to flatten down before turning and mixing his leer with a glare to show his anger at the other pokemon for trying to ruin his beautiful fur coat. White streaks began to flow from his body again as he charged forth his paws pushing him off the ground as he flew towards the Bayleef to hit her again with his aerial ace. After this perhaps he should switch his tactics up but if he switched to another move their was the chance if the Bayleef dodging unlike his Aerial ace which couldn't be dodged. If he used ice beam there was the hopes of potentially freezing her in place. The battle was moving along at a steady pace. Kiki wondered if the Absol was going to change it up soon to catch them off guard. They were going to have to be prepared. She decided to switch it up herself and try something new "Alright, Poison Powder and Magical Lead." She watched calmly to see what would unfold.
Alice braced herself for another impact. This time, as the dark type sailed towards her, she sent of cloud of poisonous powder in his direction so it would hit him when he came down on her. She grit her teeth as she was struck. She had to keep holding on! She turned slightly and issued her Magical Leaf, hoping this attack would be a little more effective.

Kage sneered as he shook his fur off the poison powder that had landed around him. He would have to finish this quickly. He tensed his muscles as the leaves slammed into his body. It was definitely time to change things up now that he was poisoned. The good thing was with his critical chance boosted he had a better opportunity to cause some increased damage. Perhaps he should use his perish song and in three turns cause both the Bayleef and himself to faint it would be counted as a draw. He pushed that thought from his head first choosing to use leer to further lower the opposing pokemon's defence in order to boost the damage dealt by his own moves. Kage slowly parted his lips as a small light blue sphere began to form. He aimed it towards the Bayleef then fired. The moment the sphere was an inch away it expanded releasing a beam of light blue energy. The beam cut through the air the ground beneath it turning to ice as it sailed towards the grass type pokemon. He had hoped to surprise both the Bayleef and the trainer. Kiki could not tell if the Pokemon was poisoned, but it did seem like he was wearing down. She debated using Synthesis just yet. She was unsure if they had something to counter it. She decided to risk it and focus on doing damage. The Ice Beam caught her off guard. What the heck was that? Why were there no dark type attacks coming? Ok then... "Alice, Growl and Razor Leaf!" It looked like the battle was starting to wind down.
Alice momentarily froze when she saw the Ice Beam heading towards her. Had that Pokemon learned attacks just so it could beat her? The idea seemed crazy, but she could come up with no other explanation. The attack hurt, but it luckily did not freeze her. She growled angrily at the Absol. Then she sent her leaves flying once again, wanting to do as much damage as possible.

Kage licked his lips as as the grass type had been taken completely by surprise from his attack, well of course she would it was not normal for him to naturally learn ice beam or aerial ace same with the other three attacks he knew which allowed him a good advantage over a number of pokemon grass, ice, bug, steel, water, flying, ground, dragon, fire, fighting, psychic and ghost types giving him quite the advantage. Kage sneered as the grass type used growl to lower his attack. As the razor leaf was sent flying towards him Kage slowly opened his mouth forming a sphere of blue light that shot forward releasing a beam of light blue energy that slammed into the razor leaf attack freezing them. Kage slowly opened his mouth again releasing a loud roar releasing a large wave of crimson and black sound waves that echoed through the air. Now with his perish song in set in three turns if he and the Bayleef were still battling they would both faint bringing the match to a draw. Kiki watched the battle in interested. Ice Beam had been used to deflect Razor Leaf, but at least it had not done any damage to Alice. If the Absol wanted to continue with that strategy, he would be giving up his own chance at attacking. Something would give eventually. It seemed like he was using Perish Song, which, if she remembered correctly, would end the battle in a draw if one Pokemon did not win soon. She wondered who would win the tournament if that occurred. This was shaping up to be an interesting battle indeed. "Alright, Growl and Magical Leaf!"
Alice gritted her teeth in frustration when her attack was blocked. Then the Absol did something she did not understand. She shook off her confusion and decided to trust her trainer. She growled once more to continue to lower her opponent's defense. Then she let loose magical leaves that she hoped would not miss, especially with her Overgrow ability activated. She just needed to do a little bit more damage and she would win.

Kage replied with his leer as the grass type utilised her growl in an attempt to lower his offensive capabilities. He would have none of that at all. His muscles tensed as he dug his claws into the ground as he was bombarded by the magical leaves before the poison in his system began to take effect. He gave a powerful howl like battle cry as he shut his jaws tight. Something began to swell inside of him as his lungs began to expand causing his chest to puff out following by his fur. His cheeks began to expand as he parted his lips releasing a bellowing roar. A stream of bright orange flames poured forth from his lips flowing through the air towards the Bayleef to engulf her in flames. Yami on the side tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, " Your Bayleef is strong and naturally I doubt I'd have been able to cause this much damage without Ice beam, Aerial Ace and Flamethrower. However I have equipped Kage with a large arsenal allowing him to contend with the likes of Bug, Ice, Steel, Grass, Dragon, Ground, Flying, Water, Fighting, Ghost and Physic type pokemon thus giving him a type advantage against every type of pokemon barring Dark, Normal, Poison and Fairy types!" proclaimed Yami with a small smirk forming on his lips. While he wasn't one for boasting he did enjoy it every now and then.
