Tornado Beginnings [Open]

Faith could not believe all that had transpired just in a few minutes. The day had started off great with her arrival at Cherilli Academy. She had visited the principal's office and received a Bidoof as her first Pokemon. She had been absolutely delighted until she stepped outside to find that the world was suddenly dark and grey. The green sky indicated that something was terribly wrong. Then she heard the sirens. She recognized them from home, so she knew it meant there was a tornado warning. While she was not usually prone to fear, the fact that she was in unfamiliar surroundings frightened her. She had returned Willy to his Pokeball and quickly tried to find her hall. Luckily, it was easy to find since it was draped in Hoenn colors.
She was breathing heavily by the time she reached the dorm that had been assigned to her. As she unlocked the door with her key, she wondered if there were supposed to meet somewhere when there was a tornado. She had seen no one in the lobby. Were they all in the basement? She still had all of her luggage with her, so she had no choice but to pull it into her room. Her eyes scanned the room. It appeared that she had at least one roommate, but she was nowhere in sight. The 11-year-old dragged her belongings over to the bed on the far left. With a sigh, she sat down on the bed. She wished there was someone else around to show her what to do. She hated the feeling of being completely alone.

Yami wandered down the halls of the Hoenn house the house had been quiet as of late it seemed a number of students had left the school of various reasons so there were not many left. From his knowledge outside of himself he could remember someone his own age who had a love of science that bordered on crazy. So when he had heard there would be a new member joining today he had decided to visit them to make them feel welcome even though he'd rather be out training and working on the strength of them. He felt a tug on his right hakama legging as his Tyrunt nibbled on the cloth receiving a pat on the head as his Gible walked on his left. on his right shoulder was his Bagon, on his left shoulder his Noibat his Absol kage had decided to remain in the dorm and snooze the day away, lazy bum. He ran his fingers through his long black locks as he made his way up the stairs leading to the team's dorms in order to seek out the new member. He was in dorm room 300 with Kagirinai the only other dorm in use was 301 so that would be the best place to start.
Yami moved through the hallway counting the room numbers back from three hundred and six as he began looking for three zero one. His Tyrunt stopped behind him to investigate a trash bin sticking his head inside and getting stuck unknown to his owner. Yami came to a stop as the room number and stared at it as if trying to glare a hole through the door in demand of it opening for him. yami raised his right hand to knock however his Tyrunt Doton came running down the hall towards him flailing and screaming about as he couldn't see a thing. The rock type crashed into Yami causing him to fall forward causing the door to open. yYami crashed into the ground of room 301 with a loud bang his pokemon sprawling across the ground. Tyrunt tumbled over Yami and across the floor hitting the post of the bed of the new occupant as the trash bin on his head flew off and landed in the corner of the room.
Bagon who had been on Yami's shoulder flew the furthest flying onto a bed before bouncing and slamming face first into a wall with a loud grown. gible had gone tumbling as a ball across the floor before crashing into Tyrunt who the rock type was no were near as soft as a pillow. Noibat had flown up to avoid causing injury to herself and merely floated down landing on Yami's head as he slowly stood up brushing his clothing up before fixing his Tyrunt with a glare before sighing as the baby dragon rubbed the back of its head sheepishly. The Gible leapt up and began shouting at the dragon although the Tyrunt was a few days older.
The Gible known as Shinya seemed to wave his hands about and huffed as the baby rock dragon laughed innocently thinking the movements of the ground dragon were funny. Seiryu pried himself from the wall and shook his head a she leapt down between them being the oldest of the group and merely smacked the two upside the head and berated them as they knelt in front of him nodding their head in a rather comical fashion.
Yami glanced at the other occupant of the room an eleven year old girl, "Humble apologies for the rude interruption. My Tyrunt is only just a hatchling and often lets curiosity get the better of him" he spoke in a soft polite tone as he pointed at the trash can which shape had been altered to resemble the head of a Tryunt. Yami bowed politely to the young girl, "Pleasure to meet thee and welcome to Team Hoenn I am Hateshiginai, Yamijin or if you must Yami for short"

A loud crash caused Faith to nearly jump out of her skin. Had the tornado hit the building? She turned to face the source of the noise, her eyes wild. She relaxed slightly when she saw that it was just a trainer and some Pokemon. It took her a minute to fully calm down as she watched the scene unfold. The Pokemon sure were... interesting. She had not seen anything like this before, and she was not sure what to make of it. Thankfully, the boy began to address her. He seemed to be several years older than her, and he was quite polite. She felt a sort of relief when she discovered that he was in her team. Finally, she was not alone. Despite the noisy interruption, she was glad to have some company on her first day at a new school.
"Nice to meet you, too," she said with a small smile. "I'm Faith Donnellon." She wondered how long he had been at the school but decided not to ask just yet. Her eyes fell on the Pokemon once again. She could not help but chuckle at the garbage can in the corner of the room. This was quite a lively bunch. While they had initially startled her, she found their antics amusing. If there were more Pokemon like this alone, she was sure she would enjoy this school very much. She stood up from the bed so that she was in a better position to talk to Yami. "You seem to like dragon Pokemon. Do you specialize in them? Water types are my favorite." She debated bringing out her Bidoof to meet the others. If they planned to stay for awhile, maybe she would. "What are their names?" She had grown more clam and relaxed since first entering the room. She could totally survive!

Yami lifted his right hand to gently pat his Noibat as the female dragon leaned into his touch with a soft purr like soft, "Pleasure to meet you Faith-chan" spoke Yami politely as he added the strange suffix unique to his family and others of a similar ethnic background, chan being used to address young children or girls that were close to oneself, seeing as the girl wasn't close to him but far younger he was using it in the sense of addressing someone younger than him, "And yes I do aim to become a dragon type specialist however the fifth member of my current team is an Absol to add a bit of diversity considering his large move set with the use of TM's" said Yami before he pulled his fingers to his lips and whistled a signal that made his three flightless dragons run back towards him and form a line facing Faith. He had trained them well. The whistle was mainly used to tell his pokemon to line up before him, Noibat tended to just rest on his being. With the whistle his Absol also tended to ignore it in favour of sleeping but the three before him lined up neatly in front of him when called.
Yami crouched down on the ground and placed a hand on his Bagon, "This is my starter Seiryuu" he then placed his hand on Tyrunt, "My newly hatched Tyrunt Doton, my Gible Shinya" said Yami as his hand came to rest on the Gible before he placed it on Noibat, "And this is Tsukuyomi no Mikoto or Tsukuyomi for short. My Absol who is not here is known as Kage" Yami patted his Noibat who cooed into his hand enjoying the touch. His lips twitched slightly as the three dragons standing in front of him ran off to greet the Bidoof. Yami slowly stood up stuffing his hands into his pockets, "Of course stored away I also have a female Vulpix, female Onix, a male Magikarp and a male Dedenne"
Yami let his eyes wandered around the room before bringing his attention back onto the young girl, "As your senior if you ever need to talk or need help or someone to show you around feel free to seek my aid"

Faith was impressed by the obedience the Pokemon explained. They were obviously trained well. They also seemed happy and full of life. She hoped she would be able to raise Pokemon that well. Was she really ready for this challenge? Of course she was. Her mother believed in her, so she had to believe in herself. She nodded at the mention of an Absol. Yes, variety could be good. She herself would focus on water types, but she knew she need other Pokemon to balance out her team. She smiled as the Pokemon were introduced to her. They all had interesting and unique names. "Hello," she greeted them. It was time to bring out her own Pokemon. She reached back, pulled out a Pokeball, and pressed the button to let a Bidoof out. "This is my first Pokemon, Willy."
The Bidoof looked around in curiosity. The last thing he knew, he had been sucked inside his ball because there had been a storm raging outside. Had it gone away? He instantly forgot about that issue when he saw Pokemon in front of him. <Hi!> he said cheerfully.
A small smile appeared on Faith's face at the older boy's offer of aid. "Thank you very much," she said. "I will remember that. Which room are you staying at?" He seemed pretty nice. She was glad to have met someone who could help her out if need be.

Tyrunt waddled up to the Bidoof pointing at the strange new creature. He tilted his head to the right and looked towards his senior dragon Bagon, <Food?> asked the innocent, young naive pokemon as he looked at the Bidoof with a questioning gaze. Bagon shook his head, <Not food. Friend> spoke the Bagon receiving a nod from the Tyrunt who waved at the Bidoof before grinning, <Wanna see something cool> he asked as he slowly opened his jaws forming a small yellow sphere with an orange aurora around it, Draco Meteor. Before he could launch the attack he received a smack upside the head from the Bagon, <Not indoors> he lectured as he shook his hand in a no fashion. The sphere died down and the Tyrunt whined, <But I wanted to show something cool> he said only to get a stern look from the older dragon.
"I live in room 300 with another member of hoenn Kagirinai. He is rather easy to identify by the lab coat he always wears so just keep an eye out for him" said Yami as he grabbed a chair from a table and sad down crossing his right leg over his left as he sat up straight, "May I enquire as to what type of trainer you wish to be? Do you seek to perform in pokemon battles to bolster the strength of your team and as well as your own power? Or do you seek to become a coordinator to show off your creative ability in battle through the use of your pokemon's moves? I myself as you can probably tell am a Pokemon Trainer specialising in the art of battle"

Willy's eyes widened when he was referred to as food. He was not food! He did not want anyone to eat him. He relaxed when the older dragon said he was a friend. Okay, maybe these guys weren't so bad. <Cool?> he said in curiosity. He liked seeing cool things. He had not seen much recently since he had been cooped up in a Pokeball in Principal Sash's office. He was eager to get out and do things. The yellow sphere int he Tyrunt's mouth sure was interested. The Bidoof frowned slightly when the Bagon stopped him from doing whatever it was he had been planning on doing. It seemed like it would do damage inside. <Maybe later.> If they were going to be friends, they would see each other again later.
Faith nodded at Yami's answer. Lab coat... Interesting... Perhaps she would stop by and meet him sometime. She tended to get along with anyone. She hoped she had roommates of her own. She became thoughtful at the question addressed to her. "Well..." It was something she had thought long and hard about, and she still did not have a definite answer. "My mom was a coordinator, and she wants me to be one as well. I'm not sure if it's my thing. I'll try it out and see if I like it. Right now, I'm more interested in battles like you. I might end up going with that." She was glad she had a chance to try out everything at school. She wondered if her father had specialized in gym battles. She wished she knew more about him.

Tyrunt flopped down onto the floor sitting on his behind as he looked around. Bagon pated him on the head before extending his little hand towards the Bidoof <Pleasure to meet you Willy. I'm Seiryuu and this Hatchling is Doton> spoke Bagon as he introduced himself as the baby Tyrunt who nodded his head vigorously. Gible waddled up and grinned, <I'm Shinya and I'm the greatest!> boasted the Gible as he puffed his chest out only for Seiryuu to speak up, <Don't worry about him he's full of hot air>
Yami leaned forward into his chair resting his elbows on his knees locking his fingers together as he sat his chin on them, "I understand how you feel in some ways. Your parents always wish for you to follow the same path as them and throw all these expectations upon your shoulders. You see my family has always valued education and focus on their career my mother a doctor, my father a surgeon, my grandmother a heart surgeon and my grandfather a Lawyer. No one in my family has ever been a pokemon trainer or coordinator. They viewed raising pokemon as nonsense. When I graduated my family had pushed so I would go off to University on the number of Sport and Academic Scholarships I had been offered. When I declined these scholarships and applied for Cherilli Academy, in my families word I had brought shame to them. Of course I could careless about that. I wanted to be a Pokemon Trainer I didn't want to go off and spent the next three-four years studying to become a Doctor, a Lawyer or what ever my family wanted.
Basically what I am saying don't listen to your parents expectations. If you wish to be a Coordinator don't become one for your mother becoming one because it was your choice. If you wish to be a pokemon battler then it is your choice as well. No one can force you to become something that you really don't want to be" said Yami as he spoke to his younger team member. It was true the choice to pick what she wanted to be was her own no one could force her or make her do it.

Willy looked at each Pokemon as they spoke. <It's nice to meet you all,> he said. He was glad to have good neighbors like this. They seemed like a lot of fun. <Do any of you have much battle experience?> He was looking forward to beginning battling himself. He wanted to train hard to become the best Bidoof ever!
Faith listened carefully to the elder student's words. He seemed to have a legitimate point. It was terrible that his family thought Pokemon training was beneath them. At least the only pressure she received from her mom was passive. She knew she would accept any decision she made about her future, even if it disappointed her. She was lucky to have a parent like that. She wanted to please her, but she knew she had to think of her own happiness as well. She nodded at Yami when he finished. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I want to try out both, but I'll try to keep in mind what I actually enjoy." She smiled slightly. There was another reason for her apprehension, but she pushed it away now. "Thanks. I hope you're able to reconcile with your family in the future."

Bagon smiled at the Bidoof, it was nice to meet someone new and interact with another pokemon outside of battle, <Shinya and Tyrunt not so much their newly hatched so they haven't had the chance to fight yet. Tsukuyomi hasn't had the opportunity for battle quite yet. I however have plenty of experience. I've fought a few pokemon and trainers, and shortly we will be heading off to challenge the battle leaders. My trainer will be only using me against the first four battle leaders so next time you see me I will most likely have evolved!> spoke Bagon with a massive grin.
Yami leaned back in his chair giving his hand a small wave through the air, "Who knows maybe one day we shall, but enough of that. Onto more important matters. If you wish to gain some battle experience for your Bidoof feel free to spar or mock battle with me whenever you'd like. I'm sure my Bagon would be able to show your Bidoof a few pointers, and I'd be more than happy to show you a few things" spoke Yami as he uncrossed his legs setting his feet both onto the floor. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and threw it over to her where it bounced on the bed, "My numbers in there"

The Bidoof listened eagerly to the Bagon's explanation. Two of the dragons were newly hatched? Aw, that was cute. No wonder they were so lively and energetic. And he found it awesome that the eldest already had a lot of battle experience. Perhaps he could help teach him a thing or two! <That's great. Good luck with those challenges!> He could not wait to start training so that he could evolve and take on great competitors!
Faith smiled and nodded. It would be good to get some advice from an experienced trainer. "That would be awesome. Thanks." She picked up his phone and took out her own, taking a minute to add both numbers to both phones. When she was down, she tossed Yami's back to him. "Maybe I'll take you up on that after I get settled in a bit." She was looking forward to exploring the surrounding area and discovering Pokemon. She was sure there was a world of adventure out there waiting for her!

Seiryuu gave a big toothy grin as he pat the Bidoof on the shoulder, <If you ever want a tip feel free to ask friend. Our trainer's are house mates meaning we as their pokemon must stick together> spoke the older pokemon before he placed a hand on the heads of Shinya and Tyrunt, <After all if I have to put up with these two knuckleheads twenty four seven I'll go insane> the dragon gave a soft chuckle as he removed his hand from Gible's head after the hatchling attempted to bite him.
Yami's lips twitched slightly forming a soft smile as he grabbed his phone as the younger student tossed it back to him, "It would be my pleasure. After all it is the duty of the older generation to pass on their knowledge to the younger generation as they shall surpass us" spoke Yami as he put his phone away tucking into the right pocket of his hakama pants, "Though I suppose with that line I must sound like an old man" said Yami with a small chuckle before allowing his calm composure to return. He stood up and returned the chair to its previous position. He then whistled causing his pokemon to turn their head and run towards him, "I hate to cut my visit short, but I must go. It was a pleasure to meet you and don't forget I am always free to lend a hand should you need one" Yami bowed politely and left closing the door behind him.

The Bidoof smiled and nodded. <Right.> This team thing sounded pretty cool. It would be good to have friends around to help each other train and become stronger. When the started to leave, he called out to them, <Have a good day!> He hoped he would see them all again soon.
"Right. Thanks," Faith said. it was great this school let in trainers of all ages. They were all at different points in their lives, so they all had something different they could share with each other. She was looking forward to getting to know a variety of people, especially those in her team. She gave Yami a departing smile. "It was nice to meet you too. I'll see you later." She felt better now than when she first arrived at the school. Sometimes it just took one friendly face to put her at ease. When she was alone, she stood up and started the work of unpacking. She then began to wonder again at her roommates.
