Faith had to wait a few days upon arriving at Cherilli Academy before she could really go out and look for Pokemon. The tornado and storm that had accompanied it had left her cooped up in her dorm and in her classroom buildings. At least it had given her a chance to get used to her immediate surroundings before she started exploring. She had decided to start with the forest. That was where everyone began, right? It seemed to be the place where she would find the most Pokemon. She could not wait to see what she would find in this large place. Hoenn was mostly home to Pokemon that were only native to Hoenn, so she was sure she would find some interesting and unusual Pokemon.
Her starter Willy trotted in front of her. The Bidoof was awake and alert, confident in trotting out a path in front of them. Faith wanted water Pokemon but did not want to go to the pond or lake yet because she wanted to open up the possibility of finding other types. She was sure there was a stream or something around the forest, though, so she had set out looking for it. Bidoof naturally loved the water, and this one was setting out to find it. Faith kept her eyes open for anything that might come their way. This was so exciting! She could hardly believe her journey had finally started and her life had begun. |

The storm had really messed up the forest, with cold rains, and a tornado that had ripped families apart. One such family belonged to a young fire pokemon, who had been hiding in her family's tree when the crazy winds pulled the tree and throw it. Now lost, and a lone she missed her two brothers, and her parents. Then again she had missed her parents for a while for one day dad left to go find food, and never returned, then mom left to find dad and she too never came back. Most likely both had lost battles to trainers who had taken them as their own. Luckily though for the nervous and terrified fire pokemon she wasn't completely alone. Her best friend had also been taken a long for the ride while the tree they both called home was flung like a ragdoll.
While the Fennekin cried in a pitiful and sorrowful way in the mess of broken bark, the Pachirius kept watch in hopes that their families found them again. She wasn't holding her breath though as she say as Fennekin's two brothers and her own mother where carried off in the tornado. Hopefully though all three of them had been able to land safely, but as unlikely as it was the electric squirrel still had hope.
Spotting the trainer and her pokemon Pachirisu grow tense and she got ready to defend her heartbroken friend and herself. Ready to leap forward she was quickly drawn back by Fennekin who let out a bone chilling yell, as she cried at the sight of the trainer. Running to her friend Pachirisu stood in front of the log where the fire pokemon was and stared at the trainer. Species: Fennekin Gender: Female Level: 5

Willy saw the two Pokemon first. The Pachirisu looked threatening to him, so he was immediately on his guard. Hackles raised, he growled and stepped forward. <What are you staring at, squirrel?> He would not let her intimidate them!
Faith took a moment to survey the situation. Her eyes swept across the knocked down trees and messy forest. Then they landed on the scared-looking Fennekin. "Wait," she said, holding out her hand to stop her own Pokemon. "I think they're just frightened." The Bidoof seemed uncertain, but he grudgingly stepped back to stand beside her. The girl gazed at the two wild Pokemon with a sympathetic smile. "We're not going to hurt you. Are you alright? Is there anything we can do to help?" She was cautious about stepping forward and scaring them off. She was insure how to best act around wild Pokemon. She supposed that was something she would learn with time and experience. |

(OOC: Hi there. I shall be taking over at Angie's request) The electric squirrel hardened her stare as she glared down the opposing Bidoof puffing her chest out slightly to make herself look larger than what she was to help pull off her intimidating gaze. As the trainer approached the Pachirisu leaned forward growling as electricity began to spark from the pads on her cheek. Her fur stood on edge as she raised her tail into the air unlike her friend Fennekin who was rather timid she was not. She took a single step forward and spoke to her friend, <Stay back> she said. Fennekin nodded as she curled up behind her friend letting her deal with the situation. The electric squirrel eyed the normal type pokemon as the electricity around her cheeks slowly died down. She would protect her friend at all cost even if it meant she had to battle this Bidoof, <I shall make you leave this place!> she called as the fire of battle burned brightly inside her. The squirrel like pokemon released a loud cry much like that of a battle cry in order to challenge the two

Willy narrowed his eyes at the squirrel Pokemon. They were not trying to threaten her! He was offended that they assumed they were up to no good. Had they not met any decent trainers? Well, the Pachirisu was the aggressor, so he would have to defend he honor of himself and his trainer! <If you want a battle, you've got it.> He dug his paws into the ground and took a battle stance.
Faith frowned at the Pachirisu's aggression. Obviously, she was not understanding her. She was unsure of a way to convince her that she meant her no harm. It looked like she was challenging them to a battle, and Willy seemed happy to oblige. This was not the way she had imagined training the Bidoof in his first battle, but she could see no way around it. If she tried to walk away, the Pokemon could attack them from behind. She bit her lip before saying, "Fine. If that's what you want. Willy, use Tackle!"
The Bidoof was glad he had been ordered to attack. <Time to teach you some manners.> He leapt at the Pachirisu, hoping to do her some harm and show her not to mess with him.

Pachirisu stood on edge as she waited for the opposing pokemon to attack her. She would defeat them, she would make them leave this place in order to protect her friend. Her tail flicked back and forth in a dangerous manner as the Bidoof was commanded to use his tackle attack. Pachirisu focused on her energy as she tightened her little hands into clenched fists. She breathed in and focused as the Bidoof slammed into her sending her tiny body sailing through the air. She crashed into a stump with a loud smack. She winced as she landed on the ground and rose to her feet. She could feel her bide beginning to work absorbing the damage taken. After the next blow she would have enough energy to return the damage she had taken two fold. She hid the smirk that was beginning to form by giving a fake expression of pain. She would make it look like the attack had disoriented her from attacking back.

Faith smiled slightly when their attack hit its mark, but she was worried about the Pachirisu for not attacking. Had they been too good? No, she was probably just shaken up. She decided the best thing to do would be to continue with the battle. "Aqua Tail!" She wanted to test out this move and see what it could do. It was exciting that the Bidoof already knew a water type attack.
Willy could care less about the Pachirisu's feelings. If she was too frightened to attack back, then that was her problem. He puffed out his chest before attacking. He ran at the squirrel Pokemon, and at the last second, he turned to swipe at her with a water-covered tail.

Pachirisu stood her ground as the bidoof known as willy rushed forth towards her his tail becoming coated in a layer of water. She dug her tiny feet into the earth as the blow connected sending her sliding backwards across the terrain, her bide continuing to absorb the impact in order to release it next turn at twice the power. She held back a smirk instead throwing up a frightened expression as she took a few steps back. She then opened her mouth and growled weakly at the Bidoof to lower his attack. After the next turn she would release her bide to give him a taste of his own medicine. Species: Pachirisu Gender: Female Level: 6

Willy's attack had hit again. At least the Pachirisu was doing something in return. Wasn't she going to try to use a damaging attack? If she was afraid, why not just run away? She was the one who had been the aggressor in the first place. Faith was becoming suspicious, so she decided to play it safe. "Just use Tackle, Willy." She would wait to use Growl until she knew for certain what the squirrel was up to.
Aqua Tail had been fun, and Willy trotted back to his place when he was done. He wanted to try it again, but he knew he should listen to his trainer. At the growl, he just laughed. <Is that all you've got?> He was going to destroy the little guy! He quickly ran forward to Tackle her.

Pachirisu cried again as the tackle connected. She dug her heels in to prevent her from sailing backwards. With the Bidoof in such close range now was the perfect time to unleash her bide. A crimson aurora appeared around her body as her eyes began to glow. She then struck leaping forth to lash out. With the Bidoof being so close it left him less time to react and to dodge. With her bide at maximum strength she would deal back all the damage she took and more, <Never Underestimate me!> cried the Pachirisu as her meek look vanished. Species: Pachirisu Gender: Female Level: 6

Faith's eyes widened in surprise when the Pachirisu finally attacked back. Where had that come from? That must have been her plan all along. She felt foolish for allowing herself to be tricked like that. She must have looked like a young, incompetent trainer. Unusual anger took over her, making her determined to fight better from this point on. "Alright, Willy, use Growl and Tackle!" This was no time to give up!
Willy did not see the attack coming either. He could see something forming, but when he opened his mouth to question it, he was suddenly shot with a beam of energy. The force of the energy sent him flying back near his trainer. He felt dizzy as he stood up, and he was angry as well. <Little fiend!> he growled. He raced forward to use his best Tackle possible.

Pachirisu sneered at her opponent, they had recovered quickly from her bide attack. She wouldn't be able to use it again as no doubt her foe would predict her attack and not deal any damage to her making the move useless. She shook the growl off before the Bidoof slammed into her with yet again another tackle sending her sliding back across the terrain. She shook her head regaining herself before she began to move becoming a blur as she shot towards the opposing pokemon in order to slam into him with a quick attack. That Pachirisu was resilient. While Faith still felt bad about disturbing her and giving her the wrong impression, but she could not help but be interested in catching her. She was sure she could get through her tough exterior and become her friend, which was much harder when she was still wild. She was up for the challenge. "You're doing fine, Willy. Use Aqua Tail!" She could tell he was beginning to tire. Hopefully, he could hang through until the end.
As soon as he saw what the Pachirisu was going to do, Willy started running. Unfortunately, the back of him was hit by the little Pokemon. He lost his balance and fell to the ground. He quickly stood up and shook himself off. He would not be defeated! He ran towards his opponent, spinning around to whip her with his watery tail at the last second.

Pachirisu cried out as the aqua tail slammed into her sending her tiny body flying through the air. The electric type crashed hard into the ground bouncing off the earth a number of times before she rolled to a stop by her friend Fennekin. The electric type slowly stood up bruising beginning to form as she glared at the Bidoof. She took a step forward before tumbling to the ground only to rise against. She opened her lips and released a loud growl unable to rush forth with a quick attack. The next blow would finish her off. Species: Pachirisu Gender: Female Level: 6

Faith could tell the Pachirisu was tried. When she fell back near the other wild Pokemon, she remembered what had started the battle and felt sort of bad for her. It was too late to back down now, though, so she might as well finish things. It seemed Willy was worn down as well. "Ok, now Tackle!" She hoped this would be enough.
Willy smirked in satisfaction when his attack hit hard. He was so gonna win this! The Growl startled him for a second, but then he was prepared to move. Unfortunately, his opponent was still too quick for him. He shook off the damage and ran forward to Tackle her.
