It was her first time in the adoption center, and already she saw many pokemon that looked like they needed good homes. Some that she thought she might take home. Though, there was an oddly colored (probably a "shiny" pokemon which was a rare occurrence as she understood the phenomenon to be) Totadile. So Serah walked up to the counter, clearing her throat a bit as she began to speak. "Um, excuse me? I'd like to adopt a pokemon." She started, whenever she noticed that she had the attention of the person behind the counter. It was not long before she was looking back at the Totadile once again.
Turning back, Serah continued. "I'd like to adopt that Totadile, if it's at all possible." She didn't know exactly how much it would be to adopt the Johto starter, but she assumed it would be quite a bit. It did look like quite a special pokemon. She began to wonder exactly why it was that this Totadile hadn't been adopted quite yet. Was it the price? She would have to figure that out later.

A young man was at the cash register waiting for a customer. He looked up when Serah approached. "Alright," he said with a nod. He was glad to finally have a customer. It was also good that a Pokemon would be adopted. Some of these poor creatures were here for awhile, and they all needed good homes. He was slightly surprised when she said she wanted to adopt the Totodile. That little guy had been there for as long as he could remember. Not only was he expensive because he was shiny, he also had a bit of a personality problem. The Totodile liked biting people and Pokemon, not realizing that he hurt them. He hoped the girl knew what she was getting herself into.
"Very well," he said. He opened up a drawer from under the counter and searched for a Pokeball. Finding the correct one, he picked it up and wandered over to where the Pokemon were kept. "It's your lucky day," he said to the Totodile, who began to jump up and down excitedly. Smiling slightly, he returned him to the Pokeball. Then he walked back to the cash register and set the ball on the counter. "That will be $85,000." He took the money when offered to him and finished the transaction. "Take good care of him, and good luck." They may both need it.

Well, she knew it wouldn't be cheap to adopt this Totodile. But, at least she had the money for this. "Thank you sir." She said, taking the pokeball. Not only did she now have a new pokemon, but she had a shiny pokemon. Something she never thought she would be able to say. She turned and walked out of the adoption center a happy trainer. Though, she had no idea what she was about to face.
