Sawyer rushed into the Pokemon Center with her shiny Stunky, Tammy, in her arms. Something unusual had just happened. The two of them had been battling a wild Pokemon, and everything had been going well. Then, out of nowhere, Tammy collapsed on the ground. The trainer did not know what had happened since she still should have had plenty of energy left. When she picked her up, she found that she had fallen asleep. Maybe the wild Pokemon had done something to her. She hoped that Nurse Joy would be able to figure out what had gone wrong. "Nurse Joy!" the girl called as she approached the counter. "Can you help my Stunky?" She quickly explained the situation.
Joy nodded as she took Tammy into her arms. "I'll see what I can do for her. We'll figure this out." Then she left for the examining room.
There was a row of chairs alongside one of the walls, and Sawyer walked over to one in the middle and sat down. She leaned her elbows on her knees and placed her hands on the side of her face as she let out a long sigh. She hoped everything was fine with her little Stunky and that she was not sick.

Faith had just been out in the forest catching Pokemon. As such, two of her Pokemon were tired and in need of a check up. There was a small smile on her face as she entered the Pokemon Center. This was her first time being here, but she was sure everything would go well. She stepped up to the counter and waited for someone to appear. Soon, she recognized Nurse Joy coming forth from the back room. "Hi, I'm Faith," the girl greeted the older woman. "Can you take a look at my Pokemon?" She held out two Pokeballs.
"Sure thing," Joy said as she took the Pokeballs. "I'll call you when I'm finished."
Faith smiled at her and nodded. Then she turned to look to see if she could find a place to sit. She was surprised to see another girl sitting down who looked a bit glum. She walked over to greet her, deciding to try to cheer her up. "Hey," she said gently as she sat on her left side, "is something wrong?"

Sawyer lifted her head when she heard someone speak to her. She did not feel like talking to anyone right now, but she did not want to be impolite to someone who was expressing concern for her. She debated about how much information she should give this stranger. She seemed young - probably a student at the academy. She decided she could trust her. "I'm worried about my Stunky. We were having a battle and she faitned for no reason. The other Pokemon's attacks were not even that strong." She hoped Nurse Joy would be able to figure it out. She had just caught that Stunky. She did not want to think she had done something wrong as a trainer.

Faith wondered for a minute if the girl was going to tell her what was wrong. While she herself was very trusting and would confide in strangers, she kenw everyone was not that way. She was almost relieved when the girl began to explain, and she nodded in sympathy as she listened. "Wow. That's terrible. I hope she's alright. Maybe she became exhausted from the heat of the sun?" True, it was no longer summer, but it was still a possiblity. There had to be a reational explanation. "I'm sure Nurse Joy will be able to figure it out and help you take care of her." That was what she was there for, right?

Sawyer stared at her hands and nodded. "Yeah, I suppose so." Tammy had seemed quite healthy before this happened, so she did not think it was anything serious. She would hate to think she had an underlying condition she did not know about. Could Pokemon catch diseases? "I hope it's just heat stroke." Though even that could be very dangerous. At least she had gotten her to the Pokemon Center as quickly as possible. She let out a heavy sigh as she lifted her head to look at the stranger again. "Are you here for any serious reason?" She did not seem too troubled, so she guessed she was just here for a regular checkup.

Heat stroke would still be serious, but since the Pokemon was getting help now, she would recover. Faith could not think of anything else that could have caused a situation like this. Speculating about it would likely only make it worse. It was best to wait for an update from Nurse Joy. When the girl brought the conversation right back to her, she shook her head. "No, nothing serious. Just a checkup. My Pokemon and I were doing some battling, and they got a little tired. I figured I'd bring them here just to be safe." She paused as she thought about what to say next. She then remembered she had not properly introduced herself. "I'm Faith, by the way. Faith Donnellon. From Team Hoenn."

Sawyer nodded when the girl talked about a checkup. "That's good." She did not always make it to the Pokemon Center after a battle, but she supposed it was not a bad idea. Maybe if she had been more diligent, Tammy would not be in trouble now. She had to be alright... She was grateful for the change in conversation to take her mind off of everything. "Nice to meet you. I'm Sawyer Fylan from Unova." She could not remember meeting anyone from Hoenn yet. She wondered what it was like being part of that team. She hoped Faith did not mind that she was not very talkative today. She could not think of much else besides her Pokemon at the moment.

Unova, huh? She had not met anyone from that team yet. She had heard about the Unova region but had never been there since it was so far away. It would be nice to visit sometime. "It's nice to meet you too." She would have said more, but she saw Nurse Joy approaching her.
"Faith?" said Nurse Joy, stopping in front of the girl. "Your Pokemon are all healed, and I did not find any problems." She held out a tray with Pokeballs on it.
Faith smiled as she took her Pokeballs back. She was glad her Pokemon were all fine. "Thank you, Nurse Joy." She hoped her new friend would receive similar positive results.

Sawyer noticed something had taken the other girl's attention away, and she followed her gaze to Nurse Joy. She as glad to hear that Faith's Pokemon were fine. At least there was good news for one of them. "And what about my Stunky?" she asked once there was a pause in the conversation.
"I am still looking over your Stunky," Nurse Joy said. "There seems to be nothing seriously wrong with her. I'm trying hard to get to the problem, and I'll let you know when I'm finished."
Sawyer nodded. She supposed that was the best she was going to get right now. "Ok. Thank you." She wondered if Faith would leave now that she had her Pokemon back.

Faith listened carefully as Nurse Joy talked about the Stunky. After she left, she turned back to Sawyer. "At least there's no imminent danger," she said. She hoped that meant there was nothing seriously wrong. And hopefully, results would come back soon. She wondered if the other girl thought she was going to leave now that she had her Pokemon back. "I'll stay with you until Nurse Joy is done." She paused as she considered something. "Unless you want me to leave." She knew some people preferred to be alone in situations like this, though she could not understand why.

Sawyer nodded at the girl's statement. Yeah, at least Tammy was not terminally ill or something like that. Still, the uncertainty of it all made her anxious. She hated waiting. She was surprised when Faith said she would wait with her. She did not even know her! "No, you're welcome to stay," she said quickly. She appreciated her thoughtfulness, and talking to someone would keep her mind off of her Pokemon. "And thanks." It was not often she met someone as nice as her. She just wished she was better company herself at the moment.

Faith smiled when she said she could stay. "You're welcome," she said. She knew she would want someone else with her in this situation. It would be terrible to go through something like this alone. "Was your Stunky your first Pokemon?" It would be especially terrible if she was, though it was bad either way. She could not imagine how she would feel if Willy were injured. The two of them had not been together long, but they were already very close.

Sawyer shook her head. "I caught her recently in the park. I did not even have to battle her. I befriended her, and she agreed to come with me." It had been quite remarkable. The Stunky had seemed eager to find a trainer. Was there a reason no one else had wanted her? After all, she was a shiny Pokemon, so someone should have caught her rather quickly. She shook the thoughts away as she reflected on the core of Faith's question. "My first Pokemon was my Litleo, Kopa. What about you?" She always found it interesting which Pokemon trainers chose as their starter. She thought it said a lot about them.

Faith thought the way Sawyer caught the Stunky was cool. Battles were fun, but it was awesome to be able to gain a Pokemon's trust and catch it that way. Remembering the Fennekin and Pachirisu she saw, she thought it might be preferable. "A Litleo?" she said. "Awesome! My first Pokemon was a Bidoof. I love water Pokemon, and I cannot wait until he evolves. We're going to train hard!" It was great having a partner who loved the water as much as she did. It was fun swimming together in the pool and lake.

Sawyer thought Bidoof were pretty cool. Their teeth sure were powerful. It seemed that this girl wanted to specialize in a Pokemon type as well. "Good luck. You'll have to train, hard, but I bet it'll be worth it. Kopa will be magnificent when he evolves!" He was bound to be even more powerful and beautiful once he was a full-grown lion instead of a little cub. "I want to focus on fire type Pokemon." She thought they were the best. Even as a kid, she always loved playing with fire, not caring if she got burned.
