She'd made her way through the park and explored for quite a bit, but Eve had decided it better to move on and explore more of the city. She'd kicked off her bike and rode directly south, not really paying attention to rhyme nor reason nor direction on her way with the mindset that she could eventually find her way home. She had figured out that Serenity, her Igglybuff whom she'd named earlier, was comfortable hanging onto the back of her neck and sitting atop her bag while they rode so she could see the sites, and it resulted in her not going too fast but staying at a constant pace to keep balance.
As her tires reached the sand, Eve made the brave decision to keep peddling, pleased that the shore wasn't quite as crowded on an October evening be it too cold, too late in the day, or too what have you for some, and after a good twenty meters or so Eve decided to pull to a stop, let her bike lay in the sand, and climbed off, the first thing she did being removing her shoes and socks and tucking them into her bag so they'd stay relatively sand-free. She looked about the beach and decided it'd be fun to work on tactics and training for a little bit, should she find a willing opponent, knowing that if anything went wrong she could always go to the Pokemon center afterward. She knew Serah didn't know but a couple moves, and it was time to test out her strategy so she could see exactly what, and figure out exactly how raising an Igglybuff would go.

A Poliwag had been happily swimming in the lake. She was enjoying her time alone, but she would not mind a little action. Since it was getting cooler, less Pokemon and trainers were traveling this way. It was a shame, really. Cold weather was the best! She had been floating on her back when she heard someone approaching her home. Curiously, she flopped back in the water and began to paddle back to shore. There she saw a trainer and an Igglybuff. <Hi there!> said the water type, hopping onto the sand. She wondered if they wanted to play or have fun. She loved having fun.

The relaxing afternoon was rolling into evening, and Eve thought back to her first day as a trainer. She'd gotten her first Pokemon, an Igglybuff she named Serenity and would probably refer to as Serah more often than not. She'd met another trainer and student at Cherilli Academy, and come across a big, powerful shiny Charizard. It was a very interesting day, but ending it at the beach with a nice walk, feeling the sand in her toes and letting Serah run about the uncrowded beach was a delightful thought.
As they walked, approaching the water's edge, Eve watched as the Igglybuff ran toward the tide and let the water wash up onto her feet. It was precious, and as the water rushed back out, Eve saw another Pokemon approaching, a little tadpole she recognized as Poliwag. It approached in a seemingly curious manner, and Serah seemed to be able to understand her when she made a sound. "Hi! It's nice to meet you!" The little pink fairy responded the best it could, very playfully making acquaintance with the new arrival to her friendship circle.
Eve stood back, watching the two make friends. She didn't feel like a battle would be necessary if these two became friends, and even if they weren't she wouldn't force them to fight. Poliwag was adorable but wasn't a Pokemon she'd set her heart on; granted, anything that wasn't an Eevee wasn't too high a priority, but still, if Serah made a friend...

The Poliwag smiled at the Igglybuff. She was glad she seemed friendly. Some Pokemon with trainers tried to battle her right away. She did not mind battling, but it was only polite to talk a bit and get to know each other first. Battling was much better when done with friends. <It's nice to meet you too. What brings you out here on this lovely day?> It was indeed a lovely day for the water type. She simply loved fall. It was so beautiful the way the leaves on the trees changed colors and fell to the ground. Sometimes she would play in the leaves that fell near the lake. Oh, there was so much fun to be had!

If there was one thing Eve had learned about her Igglybuff within the few hours they'd been together, it was that Serah was a very friendly Pokemon, and that she was always eager to meet new creatures. And this trip to the beach only seemed to further make that statement true, by her eagerness to befriend a Poliwag that had approached.
Serenity, as Eve had presumed, seemed to be very calm and relaxed around her new friend. It was a nice fall day out, and the leaves that spiraled and fell to the ground seemed to be quite relaxing to her. i came here with my new friend. We're out exploring the town cause she's new here! She smiled, and looked back at Eve rather jubilantly. I bet she'd be happy to call you a friend too if you wanna be our friend! She's really nice! it was just like her to be trying to recruit a new friend to the team without battling. No surprise there, Huh?

<Oh, new friends are lovely,> said the Poliwag. She had several friends herself, and it was always fun to play with them. She had not made any human friends yet. She wondered what they were like. She looked up at Eve curiously before giving her a bright smile. <Hello there. I'll be your friend!> Making new friends was awesome, and these two seemed pretty nice. She bet they were a lot of fun. She turned back to the Igglypuff. She got up on her tail and started bouncing. <I'm ready for some action. Do you want to battle or play something?> What better way to bond with new friends?

Serah was immediately taken back by the thought of battling a new friend, but she knew she had best give it a try rather than standing back and seeming scared. She was aware already that her trainer didn't understand Pokemon language, but the thought that the Poliwag wanted to be friends with the human girl was a plus. Serenity had only just met her, but she trusted the girl. Looking from the Poliwag to the girl and back, she noticed the Poliwag up on her tail and turned back to her handler with a nod. Sure, let's have a battle. It'll be fun. Just warning you though, I'm not very good. Most of my moves are for making you tired..."Seeing this and getting the nod from her pink puff, Eve could tell a battle was bound to happen. "Want to fight, Serah? Let's do it." She didn't give any orders, a little nervous how this was to go, and in the process let Serah control her own fate. The Igglybuff took a deep breath and started to sing, and upon hearing the sound, Eve covered her ears almost urgently. The Poliwag smiled when her new friend agreed to battle. This was going to be fun! She always enjoyed testing her skills, and it was better when it did not matter much because it was against a friend. <Great!> She hopped back on her feet and prepared to battle. <Oh, that's alright. It's just for fun.> Her attacks made her tired? That was interesting. She soon found out just what she was talking about. The beautiful song slowly lulled her into a deep slumber, making her unable to attack back.
