OOC: This is for Paul and Sawyer's battle. Paul will post first and will have the first move. IC: The final round of the summer tournament had finally arrived. Principal Sash was excited to see which team would be crowned victor. The rigning team, Hoenn, had already been knocked out of the tournment, so a new team would have the chance to acheive glory. Maya walked with her trainer as she stepped up onto the battleifled with a microphone to greet the crowd. "Hello!" she said in a booming voice. "The moment has finally arrived. The champion team will be decided here today. Please welcome Paul from Sinnoh and Sawyer from Unova as they battle it out for their team's honor!" There was loud cheering as everyone waited for the traners to arrive. The principal and ver Vulpix walked back to their seats to get a good view of the action. |

Sawyer was ready for the final battle. She was so close to gaining victory for her team, and this excited her. She knew the name of her opponent, but she had not ever met him. If he had made it this far, she knew he would be difficult to beat. She was planning on giving it her all. Kopa needed to rest, so she decided to use Isis, her second best Pokemon, this time. She was sure the Ekans would love chance to gain glory by winning the tournament with her. This was going to be great.
She strode confidently onto the battlefield with her head held high, giving a slight nod to Principal Sash as she passed. It felt great to hear her teammates cheer for her in the audience. She would not let them down. She noted she was the first one there as she took her place on one side of the field. That was fine with her. "Isis, help me out." She tossed a Pokeball in the air, and the Ekans appeared before her. Isis hissed menacingly as she waited for her opponent to arrive.

Paul entered the battle field once more. He had made it to the finals. Anyone would think that was a big deal, but he did not. That was due to the fact that his first battle had been pathetic and the second was even more pathetic since the guy hadn't even bothered to show up. The final battle better have more action to it. Otherwise, he was going to have to rethink sticking around this school, seeing that he hadn't been running into many competent trainers. He studied his opponent in front of him once he got to his spot on the field. She seemed a bit young. He hoped that didn't match her skill. "Private, stand by for battle!" he said as he let his Farfetch'd out. He would be facing an Ekans. His flying should help with dodging, seeing as the snake-like Pokemon could not jump. "Use Peck," he ordered. He wondered how good the Ekans was at dodging.
Private appeared flying in mid-air. Immediately, he prepared for battle. He appeared pleased as he eyed the Ekans. Yes, he would actually get to battle this time. At his trainer's order, he flew down towards his opponent, aiming his sharp beak at her. Sawyer took a minute to examine the Farfetch'd and his trainer. They seemed pretty tough. They were certainly getting right down to business. Excellent. She was not one for small talk anywhere. It would be difficult to strike the flying type, but at least her Ekans knew one move that did not require physical contact. She would start with that and then move onto her special strategy. "Isis, dodge and use Poison Sting!"
Isis hissed at the Farfetch'd. The dudck Pokemon looked pretty tasty to her. She was dying to bite into him and taste him. He seemed pretty resilient, though. This was not going to be easy. She waited until he was nearly upon her before quickly darting forward, missing his attack. Then she turned, and while his back was still at her, she shot out poison darts at him.

Paul observed how the Ekans escaped Private's move. "Dodge!" he said when he saw that the Ekans was attacking while Private's back was turned. The Farfetch'd flew upwards but was unable to get away from the poison sting in time. He did not appear to be poisoned, though. "Leer and Poison Jab!" His first impression was that this battle was going to take some strategy. This was good; he hoped it would continue like that.
Private let out an angered cry at being struck in the back. <Hey!> He flew up into the air and spun around to face the Ekans. She was going down. He would not allow himself to lose and fail his trainer. He sent her a menacing leer before flying back down towards her, aiming his poison coated beak. Sawyer watched as the Poison Sting hit. It did not seem to poison their opponent, so they would have to try again later. The other trainer was now using a poison attack as well. At least Isis could not become poisoned because she was a poison type. It seemed now was a good time to take a risk. "Stay still and use Wrap!" She hoped this plan would work.
Isis hissed when she saw the bird flying towards her. She did not move as he swept down to attack. She was strong and could take it. She did not show she was in pain as she took the Poison Jab. Instead, the second she felt contact, she moved swiftly to wrap her tail around the Farfetch'd and attempt to squeeze him.

Paul knew Poison Jab would not be as effective poison-wise, but it still had some effect damage-wise. As soon as he heard Sawyer instruct her Ekans to use Wrap, he told Private, "Keep your leek free!" He watched as his Farfetch'd struggled to keep his left wing free while he was pulled into the wrapping of the Ekans. There had been a possibility of dodging the move, but Paul had not wanted to take the chance of him failing and then having no wing free. "Use Leer and Fury Cutter!" With the wing that holds his leek free, he would be able to do this even while being squeezed.
Private turned around to see the snake Pokemon begin to wrap itself around him. He lifted his left wing, the one with his leek, up and away from the Ekans just as his trainer ordered him to. He grimaced as he was wrapped and squeezed, not liking it but glad he had his leek free. Being a bird Pokemon, he was able to turn his head so that he could face the Ekans and give her a fierce leer once more. He then turned back and slashed the part of the Ekans that was wrapped around him with his leek in fury. Sawyer found Paul's plan to be quite ingenious. he sure knew what he was doing. She found it quite motivating to be up against an excellent opponent. It would feel great to beat him, and if she lost, she could take everything she learned from it to improve in the future. "Hang in there, Isis. Use Leer and Bite!" She knew it was risky to keep on using Wrap, but she might not have another chance for their most powerful attack.
Isis enjoyed squeezing the bird, though she wished she would get a chance to eat him. She snarled when he started to attack her. How dare he do that! She held on stubbornly and leered at him. He would soon learn why he should not mess with her. She opened her jaws wide and lunged her head forward to bite him near his neck.

Paul watched as his plan worked out. He had been working on keeping his Farfetch'd cautious about his leek potentially getting constricted or attacked. Plenty of opponents could try to do that, which would put him in a predicament. He smirked when the Ekans leered at Private. Due to his defiant ability, his attack power would increase from his defense decreasing. It was a problem that Private could not avoid the Bite, but at least he could still attack, this time with more power. Plus, the Ekans had to let go sometime. "Leer and Fury Cutter again." Fury Cutter doubled in power for each consecutive time it hit. Thanks to Wrap, Private was not the only one not going anywhere.
Private did not like that leer, but he could feel it doing something good to him as well. He shivered in pain as he was bitten. He gave the Ekans another menacing leer, in return for the one given him. Once that was done with, he slashed his opponent again with his leek, feeling more powerful than before. Take that! Sawyer's strategy was working as intended, but it also seemed to be helping her opponent. At this rate, both Pokemon were going to wear each other out. She knew when it was time to move onto something else. Continuing on this way was too much of a risk, even for her. "Good job, Isis. You can let go now and use Glare followed by Poison Sting!" Hopefully she would be able to attack fast enough to hit her mark.
Isis hissed as she was hit by another Fury Cutter. Obviously, her Bite had not deterred the bird. When was he going to learn his lesson? She was disappointed when she was told to let go of him, but she knew she had to obey. She did her best to throw him to the ground before backing up. She then moved her belly around to intimidate the Farfetch'd with its pattern and cause paralysis. Then she lowered herself back to the ground while spitting out poisonous darts.

Paul was glad when the Ekans finally let go of his Farfetch'd. His plan had worked quite well. He watched as Private was struck by paralysis from the Glare. The shock of it kept him from being able to dodge the oncoming Poison Sting. He did not seem to be poisoned, and he was still standing. Even if he had been poisoned, it would not have mattered; they were going to end this. Now. After assessing his Pokemon, Paul concluded that the paralysis was not keeping him from attacking at this point. "Use Brave Bird!" he said. It was his most powerful attack. It would cause significant damage to Private as well, who was already pretty worn out by now, but there was nothing else to do.
Private glared at the Ekans as the Glare struck him, causing paralysis. Great. How was he supposed to attack now? He braced himself as he was hit with some more poison. It depleted more of his energy, but he still stood. His trainer called out Brave Bird. He knew this would hurt him a lot, but he had to do it for Paul. Tucking in his wings, Private charged at the Ekans from a low altitude with as much force as he could muster. Isis was glad that her darts had hit their target. The paralysis should have worked, but would the Farfetch'd be able to attack? Unfortunately for her, the answer was yes. She could see he was aiming for a big attack, and she knew she had to make him miss. She attempted to wiggle out of the way, but it proved to be of little use. She endured a hard move that was too much for her. The force of the attack sent her skidding in the ground near her trainer. Then she fainted.
sawyer watched the battle with fierce intensity. She could tell this battle was going to be a close one. She knew Brave Bird was a powerful attack, but it also caused damage to the user. Whatever happened, this was going to be it. "Dodge it!" she cried out. She watched in dismay as the Farfetch'd struck her Ekans. She had lost. She put on a small smile as she took out her Pokemon. "Thanks for trying, Isis. You can take a rest now." After returning her, she looked across the field at Paul. "Congratulations. You're really strong." She had learned a lot from battling with him, and she hoped they would meet again.

Paul watched as Private hit the Ekans with Brave Bird. It had the desired results. Isis fainted while Private stood standing. The Farfetch'd was shaking a little from the effort it took him to remain on his feet, for the attack had taken a toll on him. Paul waited until the battle was declared over before taking out a Pokeball and returning Private to it. The Farfetch'd had proved strong enough; however, there was still a lot more work to be done. He refrained from speaking to him like his opponent did to her Pokemon and instead looked at her. He nodded at her words. "It was a good battle." He was pleased with the battle; it had been a worthy one. He knew he could still be stronger, though, so this battle was not the end. It was yet another continuation of his quest to becoming strong and powerful. OOC: Congratulations! I will PM Paul and the other Sinnoh members with their prizes later. Principal Sash enjoyed watching the battle very much. It was great when she couldn't predict who would win. Both trainers had fought very hard, and they should be proud of their accomplishments. In the end, it was Sinnoh that had come away with the crown. After it was all finished, she walked up to the battlefield with Maya by her side. "Good work to both of you," she said. "You battled well for your teams." She turned toward the crowd and smiled. "Our victor is Paul from Sinnoh!" She paused to let everyone cheer and clap. "Everyone in Sinnoh will receive prizes as an incentive for everyone to try their hardest next semester. I'll see you in a few months!" Another semester was a success! Private has gained three levels. He may now learn Knock Off. |
