OOC: You have a chance to take home a Johto start Pokemon. In order to qualify, you must have eight roleplay post within the month of November. Post here having your character attending the lecture once this is achieved. IC: Principal Sash thought last month's lecture with Professor Oak had gone quite well. She was excited to move onto Professor Elm and the Johto region. Everything was all set up and ready to go. Once both the professor and students had arrived, the principal stepped up to the microphone at the stage to speak. "Hello, students," she said cheerfully. "Thank you for attending today. I am pleased to introduce you to Professor Elm from the Johto Region!" She stepped back as everyone applauded. This would be great!
Professor Elm stepped up to the microphone. He smiled at everyone before grabbing it an speaking. "Thank you for having me, Principal Sash, and thank you for coming, everyone. I'm here to talk to you about the Johto Region. At the end, you have the chance to win one of the three Johto start Pokemon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile." He was so excited to begin that he got right into the lecture. |

Sawyer was headed to another lecture. This one was being given by the professor from Johto, Professor Elm. While it was unlikely she would win a Pokemon since she had won one last month, it did not hurt her interest to try. Plus, she was genuinely interested in learning about Johto. Once she arrived at the gym, she looked around for a place to sit. She ended up choosing a spot in the middle of the rows of chairs that had been set up for the lecture. Then she waited eagerly for the event to begin. |

Gary thought it was a brilliant idea to have profssors come to talk about the different regions. The previous month, he had lsitened to his grandfather talk about the Kanto Region. Of course, he already knew all about that since he was from the region and had grown up witht he professor, but he had attended anyway in order to support him. He was excited to hear Professor Elm speak. he had been to Johto a few times, but he knew there was much he did not know. And winning Pokemon was a plus. He walked into the gym and took a second to figure out where to sit. He liked sitting on the side, so he chose a seat on the right near the front. |

Faith skipped down the hall, headed in the direction of the gym. She had heard Professor Elm was in town, and she wanted to hear him speak. She thought Johto was an interesting region, so she wanted to learn more about it. Also, Johto Pokemon were just so cute! She entered the gym and immediately started for the first row. She wanted to get a god seat! She sat down near the middle and then looked up, waiting for the lecture to begin. |

Nate and Watcher were headed to the gym to listen to Professor Elm's lecture. The trainer had enjoyed Professor Oak's lecture the previous month, so he was eager to see if the Johto professor's talk would be just as good. He loved learning about all the other regions. Plus, who would not want a chance to win one of those cool Johto starters? He was not sure who he would choose if he won, but he figured he could make the decision on the spot. There was no use spending too much time thinking about something that was unlikely to happen. As he entered the gym, he found Gary and sat beside him. "Hi," he greeted his friend. Watcher hopped onto the seat next to him. |

Professor Elm gave an excellent lecture. After his conclusion, he said, "Now it is time for what you have all been waiting for: the Pokemon drawing. Let me show you the three Pokemon you may choose for your starter in the Johto region." He took out three Pokeballs and released Chiorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. "Now I am going to draw three names from those in attendance." Principal Sash stepped forward and handed him a hat. Professor Elm stuck his hand in the hat and pulled out a slip of paper. "Gary Oak! Please come down here and choose your Pokemon!" He waited with a smile to see what would happen now.

Gary listened closely to Professor Elm's lecture. Like expected, it was quite informative. He hoped he would get the chance to visit Johto someday. It sounded like a really neat place! He was sure to have all sorts of adventures there. He was so caught up in all the information, he was surprised when he heard his name called. He had won? He had won! There was a small smirk on his face as he stood up and strolled toward the stage. Now, who should he choose? All three starter Pokemon looked great, but there was something about the fire type that caught his eye. "I will take the Cyndaquil, sir," he said politely as h stood before the professor. This was so cool! |

Professor Elm smiled and nodded at the boy. "You are welcome. Excellent choice. Here is its Pokeball." As he handed the item order, he could not help but think that the boy's name was familiar. Then it hit im. "You're Professor Oak's grandson, aren't you? Give him my greeting for me." After Gary had left, the professor turned to the hat again. "Now for the next winner." He pulled out a slip and held it up to his face to read it. "Faith Donnellon!" He looked around the gym for the owner of the name.

Gary smiled broadly when Professor Elm recognized him. "I am, and I will. Thank you, professor." He took the Pokeball and turning to the Cyndaquil, grinning. "We're going to have fun." He returned the fire type to the Pokeball and then clipped the item to his belt. He wondered if Elm would have time to chat after he was finished here. With this thought in mind, he walked back to his seat. |

Faith watched as Gary was chosen to receive a Pokemon. The Cyndaquil he picked was pretty cute. She wondered who would go next. She was surprised to find out that the decision would go to her! Oh, how exciting! She stood up and smiled. She could not remember ever being this lucky. She quickly got to the aisle and walked up it. "Thank you so much, sir," she said upon reaching professor Elm. "Can I have the Totodile?" Of course she wanted the water type. She just adored them! |

Professor Elm found this whole process quite delightful. It was great to see students go home with new friends! "Ok. Here you are, young lady." He handed her the Totodile's Pokeball. Then he smiled at the remaining Pokemon. "I will now draw to see who will take home this lovely Chikorita." He stuck his hand in the hat once more, clearing his throat before reading the name. "Nate Kerston!"

Nate was excited for Gary when he was chosen to receive a Pokemon. "Congratulations," he whispered when his friend came back with a Cyndaquil. He did not recognize the second winner, but he politely clapped for her. Then the last winner was called, and it was Nate! He was still in shock as he stood up and walked forward towards the stage. His eyes landed on the Chikorita, and a small smile appeared on his face. "Hello, there, little guy." He glanced up at Professor Elm. "Thanks a lot, sir." |

Faith accepted the Pokeball and then returned the Totodile. She grinned at the sphere in her hand. She finally had a water Pokemon on her team! She could not wait to introduce it to everyone else. She was sure they were all going to be great friends. She retained her smile as she trotted back to her seat. What a great day! |

Professor Elm nodded. "You are welcome. Here is Chikorita's Pokeball. Have fun together." He held out the Pokeball to the girl. Then he nodded at Principal Sash, and she stepped back again. "Thank you all again for attending my lecture. If any of you decide to travel to Johto, I hope you will come by my lab and pay me a visit. I will stay here a little longer if anyone wants to chat!" He smiled and stepped back as everyone applauded. He thought that had gone quite well!
