OOC: You have a chance to take home a Hoenn start Pokemon. In order to qualify, you must have eight roleplay post within the month of December. Post here having your character attending the lecture once this is achieved. IC: The third month of the lecture series had arrived. So far, the program had gone well. Principal Sash could not wait to see how much the students will grow by the end of it all. She was also interested in seeing how they developed bonds with their new Pokemon. Being a principal was so exciting. She stood back on the stage while everyone filed into the gym. Once it look like no one else would be coming, she stepped up to the microphone and spoke into it: "Thank you for coming to our third lecture. Today's topic is the Hoenn region. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Professor Birch!"
Professor Birch stepped forward as Principal Sash stepped back. He looked around at the crowd and grinned at everyone. He was glad to have the chance to come here and speak to the students. He loved doing things like this. "Thank you so much for coming here today, and thanks to Principal Sash for having me! I'm sure you're all excited to see the Pokemon I brought with me, but first I have some exciting information to share about the Hoenn region. I hope you all have a chance to visit someday." His goal was to make the region sound so attractive that they would do just that! He promptly began his lecture. |

Faith hurried to the gym for Professor Birch's lecture. She had met the professor a few times in the past, and she was eager to hear him speak. Since she was from Hoenn, she already knew all about the region, but she wanted to be there to support the professor and Hoenn. The last lecture she attended, she had won a Totodile! She might not win a Pokemon this time, but she wanted to give it a shot. Showing up was half the battle, right? It would be awesome if she could obtain a Treecko just like her mom. That would make her proud of her! After entering the gym, the girl rushed to the front row of seats. She sat down near the middle and looked up at the stage eagerly. |

Nate was eager to hear Professor Birch's lecture. he had attended the previous two lectures on Kanto and Johto, and he was sue this one would be just as great. At the previous lecture, he had even won a Chikorita. Whether or not he got a Pokemon this time, he was sure to learn something new and interesting. He had never been to Hoenn and did not know much about it, so he was eager to fill his mind with knowledge. He slipped into the gym and found a seat near the back so that he would not have to walk far. |

Sawyer trotted down the hall, headed towards the gym. She was not big on lectures, but the professors from the different regions had already proved to be quite interesting. It did not hurt that she had already won a Pokemon. This really was a neat program that Principal Sash was putting on. She wondered if their were field trips to the regions in their future. The possibility excited her. After entering the gym, she spotted a seat in the middle and quickly made her way over to it. Then she sat down and waited for the lecture to begin. |

Paul arrived at the gym just in time for the lecture. He had thought that learning about the different regions would be good information to know. He wanted to know about the different Pokemon in each region as well as the different terrains, sites, and resources available. He wondered if one of the regions had stronger Pokemon than the others. By knowing all that, he would be able to decide which place he would travel to first once he graduated. He had been unable to attend the first two lectures, but he planned to attend the future ones. Once he entered the gym, he promptly found an available seat and looked up at Professor Birch as he spoke.

Professor Birch gave an excellent lecture. At the end, he looked around at the audience with a wide smile and said, "Well, that's all I have for you today. Thank you for coming out here. I hope I did not bore you. Now we are going to have a drawing to win one of the three starter Pokemon you can choose in Hoenn. Let me introduce you to them." He took out three Pokeballs and released them one by one. "This is Treecko, Torrchic, and Mudkip. Let me draw the first name." Principal Sash stepped forward with a hat full of names. Birch stuck his hand inside and pulled one out. "Paul gruff. Will you please step up to the stage and choose one of these lovely Pokemon?" |

Paul found the lecture pretty interesting. He learned a lot of valuable information from it, and he was glad he had come. He noted many things during it that he wanted to store and remember for later. When his name was called, he stood up and walked up to the stage, feeling slightly surprised but pleased. He looked at the three starters. Fire types interested him, particularly the Torchic because it would evolve into a fire as well as a fight type. He could see it potentially becoming a strong Pokemon on his team. "I'll take the Torchic, sir," he told the professor.

Professor Birch watched as the student approached, and he waited for him to make his decision. He bet he had not been planning on winning, so e probably did not know which one he wanted yes. He smiled when he finally got his answer. "Very good. Torchic, return." After taking out a Pokeball and returning it, he handed it to Paul. "Here you are. Take good care of it. Now, I'll draw a second name." He pulled a name out of the hat and read it. "Faith Donnellon."

Paul accepted the Pokeball and nodded to Professor Birch. "Thank you, Professor." He would have to train with it later to see how strong it was and what potential it contained. After the lecture finished seemed like it would work. Deciding that, he headed back to his seat and sat down. Two more people would be called to choose a Pokemon, and then it would be over. This lecture had been very useful.

Even though she already knew a lot about Hoenn, Faith enjoyed the lecture. She always loved hearing Professor Birch speak. She hoped this had made other students excited about visiting her region. Perhaps she could take some friends with her there someday! Then came the drawings. She held her breath when the first winner chose his Pokemon, letting it out as she saw the Treecko was still free. Then the next name was called, and it was her! She could hardly believe she had won again. Grinning, she stood up and walked quickly to the stage. "Hi, Professor Birch!" she said cheerfully, wondering if he would recognize her. "Can I have the Treecko, please?" This was so awesome! |

Professor Birch smiled and nodded at the girl who walked up to the stage. "Hello, Faith. Haven't I seen you before?" A badge on her clothes said she was in Team Hoenn, so she was probably from there. He likely had seen her somewhere in the region. What a fun occurrence. "Return, Treecko." He handed the Pokeball to the girl. "There you are, dear. Now, I will draw to see who will walk home with this lovely Mudkip." He stuck his hand in the hat one last time and pulled out another slip of paper. "Nate Kerston!"

Faith gratefully took the Pokeball from the professor. She was glad to see that he recognized her. It was an honor to receive a Pokemon from him. Before deciding to attend Cherilli, she thought she would be going to him for a Treecko to start her journey. It was great that she was getting one from him now! "Thank you very much." She could not help the grin that spread across her face. Now she was really just like her mom! There was a skip in her step as she headed back to her seat. |

Nate paid careful attention to the lecture. Hoenn certainly sounded fun. He hoped he would get the chance ti visit in the future. He smiled when two students won a Pokemon. He already knew that feeling, and it was great. He was surprised when he heard his name called for a second time. He ad really won again? My, he was lucky lately. He was not going to argue with it, of course! He did not get to choose a Pokemon, but he did not mind. He found the Mudkip quite cute. He stood up and hurried up to the stage. He smiled at the professor as he waited to receive the Pokeball. |

Professor Birch turned to the remaining Pokemon while the student walked towards the stage. "It's your turn for a new home, little one." He returned it to a Pokeball and then faced Nate. "Here you are, boy. Take good care of it." He handed him the Pokeball, a smile on his face. Once he was gone, he moved back to the microphone to address the entire audience. "That's it, folks. I hope you enjoyed learning about Hoenn, and come visit me there anytime soon!" What an excellent day. He hoped Principal Sash also thought it was a success.

Nate accepted the Pokeball and quickly stored it. "Thank you, sir," he said. "I will." He loved Pokemon, and taking care of a Mudkip would be an interesting experience. He turned and walked back to his seat. He had not been sitting for long when everyone was dismissed. Well, that had been an eventful hour. I stood up to head back to his dorm. He could not wait to name his Mudkip and introduce it to all of his other Pokemon! He had some good days ahead. |
