OOC: You have a chance to take home a Sinnoh start Pokemon. In order to qualify, you must have eight roleplay post within the month of January. Post here having your character attending the lecture once this is achieved. IC: The professor lectures were half over. This month, it was Professor Rowan's turn. Principal Sash was excited to have another great event. The students seemed to be enjoying the lectures so far. They were learning a lot, and they got some free Pokemon. They were growing closer to her ultimate plan. There were already several people in the audience when she entered the gym. Professor Rowan was standing back waiting for the event to begin. At the ding of the hour, she stepped up tot he microphone and spoke: "Thank you for coming out today. Please welcome Professor Rowan as he talks to us about the Sinnoh region!"
Rowan stepped forward and too the microphone from Sash. "Thank you, Principal Sash," he said as she left for her seat. "Welcome, students. Thank you for coming here to hear me speak. After sharing some exciting information about the Sinnoh region, you will have have a chance to win a Pokemon!" He could not wait for that moment to arrive. Right now, though, he had to give his talk. That was exactly what he did. He gave a brilliant lecture that astounded the crowd. |

Paul found himself in the gym once again in order to listen to a lecture. This time, it was about his home region, Sinnoh. While it was his home region, he thought it was still a good idea to hear the lecture. He knew more about it than those from other regions, but he was no expert on it. Plus, he had not traveled too much in it, so hearing about all of the important information about it would be useful for his purposes. He saw Professor Rowan on the stage when he walked in. He had met him in Sinnoh and had talked with him a few times. The beginning of the lecture reminded him about the drawing for the starter Pokemon at the end. Turtwig was one of them. If he happened to win again, he hoped he would not get stuck with it. One was enough to deal with. Pushing that aside, he sat down and listened.

Kiki walked into the gym alone. It was time for another professor lecture, and she did not want to miss it. The other lectures had fun and exciting, and she had already won one Pokemon. She could not wait to see what she would learn about Sinnoh. It seemed like a pretty interesting region. And all of Sinnoh's starter Pokemon were so cute! She could not win if she did not try, right? She noticed Paul as she entered the room, and she made a note to not go near him. She did not want to cause a disruption during the lecture, which would happen if Alice and Thorn decided to pop out on their own. She found a seat in the back and looked up, ready for the lecture to begin. |

Zane zipped down the hall, Tessie hanging onto his shoulder for dear life. He was late! He had just seen the sign for Professor Rowan's lecture in his hall, and he just had to attend. He loved learning about other regions, and there was free Pokemon! He thought Turtwig was the coolest out of all the starer Pokemon, and he just had to get one. He skidded to a halt when he reached the gym, his heart pounding in his chest fromt he exercise. He took a deep breath to calm himself. Then he put a smile on his face and waltzed over to the seats. He found a chair on the left near the middle and sat down. He was just in time! |

Professor Rowan found himself going on and on about his home region. He only stopped when he got a hand signal from Principal Sash telling him he was going over time. He quickly concluded his speech int he best way possible. Then he took a deep breath and looked around at the students. "I'm sorry if I was rambling. I just get really excited about the Sinnoh region. I know what you all are excited about, though. It's time for the Pokemon drawing! Let me introduce you to the Sinnoh starters." He took out three Pokeballs and released each one. "This is Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. Let me draw to see who will get to choose first." He stuck his hand int he hat Sash offered him. He pulled out a folded slip of paper and opened it to read it. "Zane Lathurna! Please come up and choose one of these lovely Pokemon." |

Zane was not usually able to sit still for very long, but he found Professor Rowan's lecture quite interesting. It made him want to visit Sinnoh and check it out. Hopefully he would be able to someday. He could not wait to travel! He was surprised when he heard his name called. He had won! And since this was his fist lecture, he had done it in his first shot. He could not be more pleased. He grinned as he hopped up from his seat and rushed down the aisle. "The Turtwig, please," he said to the professor. This was a great success! |

Professor Rowan found the Turtwig's Pokeball and returned it. Then he handed the ball to Zane, smiling. "Here you go, son. Take good care of it." He certainly seemed like an eager young trainer. He was sure the grass type was going to a great new home. Now for the other two. He reached into the hat once again and pulled out another slip of paper. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Next, we have Paul Gruff!" He waited patiently for the student to meet him at the stage. He wondered which Pokemon this one would choose. Zane took the Pokeball from Professor Rowan, his arm shaking with excitment. "I will, sir," he said. "Thank you." He felt like jumping up and down for joy. He had a Turtwig! He knew starters were rare in the wild, so it was great that he had this chance to win one. He turned and strotted back to his seat, a stride in his step. It was going to be hard to pay attention after this. He forced himself to sit still as he waited for the second winner to choose a Pokemon. This day had been a huge success!

Even though he was from the region, Paul had learned some new information about Sinnoh that interested him. He would have to keep it in mind for when he graduated and needed to decide on where he would travel to next. His brother would probably want him to visit, so he would most likely end up there for at least a little while. Since he had the three starters of Sinnoh already, he was not particularly interested in winning one of them. He no longer had the Chimchar, but he did not want to take a second chance with it. Besides, he had enough fire types to work with at the moment.
When his name was called, he was somewhat surprised since he had won last time, but he walked up with a composed expression. "Hello, professor," he greeted Professor Rowan. Looking at the two remaining Pokemon, he said, "I'll take the Piplup." He already had one, but that did not mean he could not have a second to sell to someone fascinated with the Sinnoh starter. The starters were rare in the wild and were not even found in other regions besides their home-region, after all.

"You're welcome," Professor Rowan said to Zane. He nodded at Paul when he approached. "Hello." He wanted the Piplup, huh? "Good choice." Of course, all three of the Sinnoh starter Pokemon were great choices. He was pleased that three students would get to experience their greatness firsthand. He could not think of a better way to spend a morning with students. He returned the water type to its Pokeball and then handed it to Paul. "There you are." He paused to give him time to return to his seat. "Now we just need to find a home for this Chimchar." He reached into the hat that Principal Sash offered to him and pulled out a final slip of paper. Kiki enjoyed this lecture as much as the others. The drawing at the end was always exciting. She raised her eyebrows in interest when Paul's name was drawn second. So, he chose the Piplup? Interesting. She tried to shake away the thoughts and focus on Professor Rowan. What that guy did was none of her business and she should not care. Then the third name was drawn, and it was her! She could not believe she had been chosen a second time! She quickly got up and rushed to the stage. She could see the Chimchar eying her curiously. She gave it a small smile before looking up at the professor. "Thank you, sir. It's an honor." |

Professor Rowan nodded at Kiki with a small smile on his face. "It's a pleasure. I'm sure you'll take good care of this Chimchar." He returned the fire type to its Pokeball and handed it to the girl. Now that part of the lecture was complete. once everyone was seated again, he spoke into the microphone to the whole crowd. "That's all I have for you today. Thank you for coming out to listen to me. I hope to see some of you in Sinnoh in the future. Goodbye, Cherilli Academy!" He gave everyone a wave before exiting the stage. Kiki smiled as she took the Pokeball from the professor. "Thank you." She was sure to have a great time with this little guy. She turned and walked back to her seat. She was not there for long, for Professor Rowan then ended the lecture. She got up again and walked out of the gym, her thoughts only on her new friend. It had been a great day! |
