Paul walked through the forest on a bright Saturday morning. He was not walking on the path because he did not want the chance of bumping into someone. It was a bit cold outside, as it was winter, but the sun was getting higher in the sky every minute. The warmth from the sun, even though the trees hid most of it most of the time, kept Thorn from complaining. Paul normally walked at night and it was alone, but he thought today he could do some training wherever he ended up after the walk. As for the not being alone part, Thorn, as usual, popped out of his Pokeball and insisted on tagging along. After some arguing, Paul eventually relented, as long as he kept quiet. So far, it seemed to be working, but he knew better than to expect that to last.
Even as a Grotle, Thorn was still super hyper. It had caused trouble for the former Turtwig in the beginning. He had kept trying to run and jump like usual, but he ended up tripping and falling each time. This was due to his increased weight from the evolution. He was now around 200 pounds instead of about 22. He was larger as well. Having done some research on him, Paul knew he would never be able to be as agile and quick as he used to be. After a couple months, Thorn had finally given up that dream and faced the reality. However, that did not mean he had given up his dream of being the most energetic, hyper Pokemon on the planet. No, that was too much to hope for.
Thorn happily walked beside his trainer. This was great! Usually when he popped out of his Pokeball while he was taking a walk, he would put him back in. This time, he had actually allowed him to stay! It was probably because Thorn had persisted even more today since it was absolutely crucial he be out this time. Or maybe it was because he liked him more now! Yeah! After all, he had recently evolved. Maybe he was happy he had done so and liked him more because of that! He really hoped it was that. Right, back to the plan. He needed to concentrate here. He was glad he didn't have to come up with a way to get his trainer to go for a walk; he had just gone out on his own. This was coming together perfectly!
Alice and Thorn had come up with a plan to get their trainers to get along better and to allow themselves time to be together. Their first plan had worked out great, so he was excited to see how this one turned out. His job was to get Paul to go to the forest and somehow direct him to a clearing. That was where Alice and her trainer, Kiki, would be searching for herbs. It was also where Alice said she saw a Beedrill nest. That was where their plan would all come together. Thorn had no idea where the clearing was, but he figured he would be able to sniff out Alice. In order to not annoy Paul, he made sure to subtly guide him in one direction or the other as they walked forward. Whenever he smelled Alice, he slightly turned in that direction. Paul, in his own thoughts, blindly followed since he did not really have a destination in mind. The Grotle grew in anticipation of seeing the Bayleef as he sensed himself getting closer and closer.

There was an extra spring in Alice's step today as she took her weekly walk with her trainer, Kiki. It may have taken awhile, but she and Thorn were finally putting their plan into action. They had both been busy the past several months, so it had been difficult to work out the details. Now, however, their plan was about to commence. They had their trainers out at the same time, going to the same place. Paul often took walks alone, so Thorn said he would make sure he was out during the walk today. As for Alice, she and Kiki always roamed the forest for herbs in order to create natural remedies to Pokemon ailments. It would be just great if they all "happened" to run into each other. Then the two grass types could initiate their plan of getting their trainers to like each other so they would be allowed to spend more time together.
Really, it should not be that hard. Both of their trainers were just too stubborn for their own good. Alice knew Kiki would open up eventually if she found something she liked in Paul, but it would take a lot to get Paul to do the same. He did not sound like a very fun trainer. However, the Bayleef always believed the best in others, and she knew there had to be a way to get through to him. This whole plan would be very good for him. Having a human friend would hopefully help him to realize the better part of himself and get him off on a better path as a trainer. She knew his Pokemon would sure appreciate it. It may have been a bit idealistic, but she wanted to at least give it a try. Besides, her and Thorn's relationship was on the line.
The plan was to use the humans' psychology class against them. They had learned that both fear and having to work together could produce positive feelings between people and Pokemon. What better way to test this theory by getting into trouble with some Beedrill? Alice knew of a Beedrill nest near the clearing where she and Kiki often searched for herbs. The two of them had just arrived. The two of them started walking around, searching for the right herbs that they were missing. Alice kept an eye on the Beedrill nest while simultaneously watching out for Thorn and Paul. She knew the Grotle's scent well, and she could tell he was almost there. Once he arrived, she would find a way to "accidentally" disturb the Beedrill nest and then get her and Thorn out of there so that their trainers could come up with a way to work together and save themselves. It was foolproof, right?

Paul was not paying much attention as to where he was going; it did not really matter. He just enjoyed walking aimlessly while he thought. At the moment, he was thinking about his second mission and the secret organization in general. He was given a Patrat and told to raise her until she evolved. After that, he would battle Duke in order to prove he raised her well. The Patrat still had a ways to go, but Paul was determined to strengthen her a lot by the time she evolved. It was not something that could be rushed, but hard, tough training was necessary. Thorn would be useful in training her, so he planned on doing that at the end of his walk.
The secret organization was interesting. Anyone else would probably be skeptical about it, but Paul thought it sounded very appealing and harmless. Their goal was to get stronger. His goal was the same. It was like it was fate he had found it. He was not just going to pass up this opportunity. If something went wrong by the time he finally joined and he discovered it was not a good organization to be a part of, then he would just leave. He highly doubted that would happen, however. Their goal was purely respectable. He was eager to find out more about how they worked. That was why he was determined to train hard with his Patrat.
The sight of another trainer and Pokemon caused Paul to leave his thoughts and come back to reality. He stopped and took in who was before him. It was Kiki and her Bayleef, Alice. It was odd that they were in the middle of the forest instead of staying on the path. "Looking for something?" he asked with raised eyebrows. He was not sure what he felt about this situation. He did not like that it would most likely take forever to get Thorn to walk away from Alice or even to get him to stay in his Pokeball.
Thorn smiled when the scent of Alice became super strong. They were so close! After passing by a few more trees, they came to a clearing. There was Alice! His little tail wiggled back and forth in delight. <Alice! Hi!> he cried in a happy voice. Instead of stopping with his trainer, he made his way over to his friend. <We made it!> He touched one of her leaves around her neck affectionately. He could not wait for the next step of their plan! It was going so great so far!
OOC: I finally got to this...

Kiki always enjoyed searching for herbs with Alice. The two of them shared a love for healing an natural remedies. It was great bonding to search for and collect herbs. Just being out in nature was quite relaxing. There seemed to be something different about the Bayleef today, but she decided not to worry about it. She did not seem and or upset, so why worry? If something was really bothering her, she would come to her. She was probably just excited to be out today. It was a really nice day. Perhaps when they were finished here, they could go get some ice cream together. That would be nice. They two of them needed to work on training since Alice moved differently now that she had evolved, but that could wait for a later day. Right now, her mind was on plants.
She was so focused on her searching that she jumped when she heard someone talking to her. She had never met anyone out her in the forest since most trainers stuck to the path. Anyone who did wander was unlikely to wander in the same direction as her. Spinning around, she was even more surprised at the person who was addressing her. What was Paul doing there? Maybe he was more likely than others to stray from the path, but she could not believe that he found her. Her eyes trailed to Thorn as he ran to talk to Alice. Well, she supposed she could accept an interruption for her Pokemon's sake. She looked back at Paul and gave him a small smile. It probably did look weird for her to be roaming around with no clear goal. "Yes. I'm looking for herbs I can use to experiment in making natural remedies to heal Pokemon." She paused. "What are you doing out here?"
Alice turned and grinned when she spotted Thorn and Paul. They had done it! They had managed to mind each other in the forest. Even if the next phase of the plot failed, it was still a success because they would have gotten to spend at least a few minutes together. She smiled at him when he reached her. <Hi, Thorn. Great job.> She glanced at Paul. <You trainer doesn't seem to be in a super grumpy mood. This will work.> Then she turned her head in the direction of the Beedrill nest. <It's over there. Beedrill are usually quite territorial, so we may just need to get close enough and they'll attack on their own.> She hoped no one got hurt. If someone did, Kiki could just heal them, right? OOC: Better late than never.
