Onatrux knew it was dangerous to go out into the forest at night, but the bug-type pokemon he was looking for could were nocturnal, meaning there was little other choice. He kept to the path, using the headlight on his Acro-bike to help guide him and alert him to any Pokèmon in the area.

The new trainer was not the only one out at night looking for bugs. A Hoothoot has just woken up, and she was hungry! She flew around for a bit, looking for bug Pokemon, before she decided to search from the ground. She started walking around and searching. She came close to the path where trainers walked. She was not worried about being disocvered, though, for she knew humans rarely ventured out at this time of the day.  Gender: Female Level: 6 |

Onatrux was having no luck finding his bug pokemon, Spinarak. Thinking for a minute, he lets Charles, his Growlithe out of his Pokèball, "Charles, do you think you could find some nearby Pokèmon to battle?" The small dog barked happily in confirmation, and started sniffing the ground. It didn't take long before he caught wind of a Pokèmon, and went running off after it. Onatrux followed as quickly as possible, finding that Charles has cornered a Hoothoot. "Ok Charles, you can battle, let's go!"

The Hoothoot was startled by the Growlithe and flapped her wings in distress. She could have tried to fly away, but she had a feeling this Pokemon would just use a fire attack to get her back on the ground. She knew they were going to battle, so she might as well have the first move. She stood still and used Hypnosis. Maybe the Growlithe would fall asleep so she could get away. The Growlithe was able to resist the effects of the Hypnosis. "Good Boy, Charles! Now use Bite!" Charles quickly moved in on the Hoothoot and bite down as hard as it could on one of it's wings.

The Hoothoot started to fly up as soon as she heard the trainer's command. She was disappointed that Hypnosis ahd not worked, but she knew that happened sometimes. Maybe she would try it again later. She was not that good of a flyer to get away from them completely, so she settled on dodging the Bite attack. Just as predicted, the Hoothoot started to fly. "Charles!" Onatrux called, trying to get his Pokemon's attention, "Stop now and use Ember!" the Growlithe quickly stopped, causing the Tackle to barely brush against it, and fired of a barrage of Embers at extremely close range, hopefully burning the Hoothoot, but assuredly teaching it that it was in some serious trouble.

The Hootoot's eyes widened when she saw the balls of fire coming towards her. Unfortunately, she was not able to dodge them. She was not burned, but they had still hurt a lot. Now she was hungry and angry! She would shot that Growlithe she meant business as well. She growled before flying forward at a faster pace for an even better Tackle. Onatrux attempted to give a command, but Charles acted independently, leering at it's opponent and she growled at him, then opening his jaws wide for a Bite as she flew in for another Tackle, planning to use her attack so she could not get away this time.

The Hoothoot tried to fly away, but without the advanced warning from the trainer, she was too slow to react and was caught by the Growlithe's jaws. She tried to struggle free, but it was no use. If only she knew Peck! That would get her out of this situation. As it was, she did not have many options. She growled at the dog before attempting to lull him to sleep again. (OOC: i don't have Growl, i have Leer. it's fine, it really only makes that first growl none effective)
"Charles! Charl..." that was all that the Growlithe hear as he fell asleep, falling over onto his side like the life had been drained from him. Onatrux knew that if he returned Charles to his Pokeball, the Hoothoot chould get away, and he didn't wait that, but he also knew that Charles couldn't do a thing in his current state. He pulled up his courage and ran to the Growlithe's side, yelling at the Bird Pokemon "Go on, get outta here!" making a judgement call. None of his other pokemon stood a chance against the bird pokemon, and he wasn't going to risk their health.

OOC: Whoops. My bad. lol The Hoothoot smiled when he saw that her Hypnosis had worked. She waited to see how the trainer would react. She let out a breath of relief when he seemed that he was trying to get rid of her. She flapped her wings and started to fly away, glad to get away from the scene. Now she could go find some breakfast! |

Onatrux watched the small bird fly away, and returned Charles to his Pokeball. "Well, i think that is enough for tonight. i better head back before people start to wonder." with that, he climbed onto his bike and rode away, headed back to his dorm.
