OOC: This thread is for Faith and Kiki's battle. Kiki will go post first. She also has the first move.
Principal Sash was excited for the final round of the Pokemon contest. The two finalists from the last contest would be competing again! She wondered if it would go different this time. The other rounds had been fantastic, so she was sure this one would be as well. After the break, she grabbed the microphone and stepped up onto the stage. "Thanks for waiting, folks," she said. "It's time for the final round of the contest. It's going to be a great battle. Now please welcome Kiki and Faith!" She walked back to her seat to watch the battle begin. |

Kiki could hardly believe she was in the final round of a contest for the third time in a row. It was not her dream to become a great coordinator, but she participated in contests because it was fun. Though she had lost the last contest, she was excited about the prospect of winning this one. She was up against Faith once again, and she knew this was going to be a difficult battle. She walked confidently onto the stage and took her spot on one side of the battlefield. "Come out, Ella!" She tossed a Pokeball in the air and released her Pokemon. The cute Eevee was the perfect choice for this contest battle. They were ready to win! Faith excitedly bounced onto the stage. This was her second contest, and she was in the finals again! She even had the same opponent. Both of them already had one ribbon, so this would be their second. She was looking forward to the chance to prove herself to everyone while having fun at the same time. "Hi, Kiki!" she said, waving at her friend. So, she had a shiny Eevee? She was really cute, but her Pokemon would be even cuter! "Come on out, Amber!" The shy Fennekin appeared and looked up at her trainer nervously. Faith gave her an encouraging smile. "Don't worry; this will be fun. Just do everything I saw as gracefully as possible." Kiki smiled at Faith and nodded at her. "Hello, Faith." It was going to be fun to battle her friend for a ribbon again. She knew that no matter what happened, there would be no hard feelings. She found the girl's Fennekin quite cute. It was going to be an interesting battle with two pretty, female, fox Pokemon. She would be sure to be on her guard. "Ok, Ella, let's start off with Tackle!" This was the only damaging attack that she knew. It would be difficult to win this way, but luckily contests were abotu more than just dealing damage. She had a plan for her other attacks.
<Hello,> Ella greeted the Fennekin. She could tell she was feeling nervous. <You're going to do just fine. Contest battles are a lot of fun!> She liked that there was not all the pressure on her to win the battle. As long as she make herself look great, she could still do a good job. She fluffed up her tail and arched her back before beginning her first attack. She bounded across the stage as gracefully as possible, hoping to hit her opponent. Faith hoped that she had made the right decision in choosing Amber for this battle. The two of them were still not very close, and there were some trust issues. She was hoping that working together in a fun contest battle would help them bond. It was worth a try, at least. "Dodge and use Ember!" The Fennekin appeared too nervous to dodge. "It's ok! Just keep going!" She hoped she would gain progress as the battle progressed.
Amber smiled slightly at the Eevee. She seemed nice. Maybe this would not be so bad. She was still not that great at battling, though. She froze up when she saw her opponent coming towards her. She knew she should get out of the way, but she found herself unable to move. Getting hit knocked her out of it. She cleared her head to aim it and then aimed her Ember at the Eevee. Now that they had gotten one attack in, it was time for Kiki to use her contest skills. "Dodge that by jumping up and using Tail Whip!" She thought this would look pretty cool. She knew the Fennekin was likely to open up once they were further in battle, so she wanted to get her points in while she could. "Now Tackle!" She still had to do some damage, after all.
Ella ran forward while the fire came at her. At the last second, she jumped in the air to dodge the Ember. Then she did a flip in the air while swishing her tail back and forth. She landed onthe ground in front of the Fennekin after the fire ceased. Finally, she raced forward to Tackle her again. <I'm going to get you!> Level: 7 Attacks: Tail Whip, Tackle, Helping Hand, Growl, Sand-Attack Abilities: Run Away, Adaptability, Anticipation Hit By: Used: Tail Whip, Tackle Health: High Green Points: 100 |

Faith knew she had to do something quickly to turn this battle around. She had already lost more than a fourth of her points while her opponent had lost any at all. She knew yelling at her Pokemon would only make the situation worse, so she was going to have to continue to kindly encourage her. "Dodge that!" She took a deep breath and let it out slowly when Amber did not move. "Use Tail Whip and Scratch!" She hoped she would be able to accomplish this since they were both close.
Amber watched in awe as Ella dodger attack. She wished she could do that! She was too mesmerized to dodge the Tackle. She grunted as she stood up again. Alright, it was time to get serious. She bent down and swished her tail back and forth just like the Eevee had done. Then she lifted out her paw to Scratch her. Kiki could see that life was beginning to emerge in her opponents. Now they were going to get into a good battle. There wa little chance to dodge, so she just let this go. She was fine with points for now anyway. "Ella, use Sand Attack and then Tackle!" They had practiced this combination, and she hoped her Eevee could implement it well. She knew this battle was just getting started.
<Not bad,> Ella said to the Feenekin. They both had beautiful tails they should be showing off! The two of them were too close together for her to be able to dodge the Scratch attack. At least it did not hurt that much. She moved forward and skidded on the ground, bringing up sand and dirt and flinging it at the fire tyoe. Then she smoothly backed away and trotted around the fox, turning when she was close to Tackle her. Faith's mind was working quickly now. It seemed that Amber was more willing to listen to her now, so she could expand her options. The Sand Attack gave her an idea. "Aim your Ember into the sand!" She had to act quickly, but it would look cool if it worked. The only downside was that she would be sure to be hit. At least that was not as important in a contest battle. Just for good measure, she decided to add something else. "Now Tail Whip!"
Amber could see the sand coming. It took strength to resist her insticnts to close her eyes and instead focus on the sand. As soon as her eyes locked onto the Eevee, she spit out a flurry of fire balls. The fire crashed with the sand, creating sparkles around the attack, which glittered. A few seconds later, she felt something slam into her. She shook the sand off of her fur as she stood up, swishing her tail in the process. Kiki was surprised that Faith chose to use Ember into the sand. The judges seemed to like it. She knew she needed to step it up if she wanted to win this. "Alright, Ella, growl and use Tackle." She hoped this would work nice. Her Eevee really needed to learn some new moves. Oh well.
Ella was hit by the Ember and fell to the ground. She had not seen that one coming! She still had a lot of energy left and hopped to her feet. She growled menacingly at the Fennekin while she leapt toward her. She hoped the judges would be impressed with her. Contests were so fun! Faith was thinking quickly now. She hoped her Pokemon was not still blinded by that sand. "Amber, dodge and use Scratch!" This could look pretty good if done right. She held her breath as she glanced at the clock. They still had plenty of time left.
Amber shook her head to rid her eyes of the last of the sand. Now, that was better! She had enough time to see the Eevee coming towards her. She bunched up her muscles and then ran forward and jumped. She flew in the air, passing her opponent. She then reached her paw down to Scratch the Eevee as she neared the ground. Kiki was surprised when the Fennekin managed to dodge the Tackle in a splendid way. She had even gotten an attack in. The girl glanced at the scoreboard and noticed they were almost even now. Victory could go to anyone. "Ella, don't stop running! Turn and use Tail Whip and Tackle!" She hoped that would look impressive enough, for it was all she could think to do at the moment.
Ella's eyes widened in surprise when the Fennekin passed her by. Before she knew what was going on, something scratched her side. She let out a gasp of pain, but she kept running just like her trainer ordered her to. She smoothly turned around, whipping her tail back and forth in the process. Then she ran for her opponent again, hoping to smash into her this time. Faith could tell that there was little chance of dodging this second Tackle, so she let it happen without comment. She knew it was time to do something big in order to take away a lot of points from her opponent. "Amber, do a flip in the air using Tail Whip and then Ember!" She hoped it was not too soon to try something like this.
Amber turned just in time to see an Eevee coming towards her. She fell down on the stage with an "oof." She took a deep breath as she stood back up. That sounded like a bold plan, but she was willing to try it. She ran forward a few apces before leaping into the air and flipping around, leaving her tail moving freely. Then, as she spun while coming down, she shot out her Ember at the Eevee. Kiki did not know what they were doing or if it would work. By the time the Fennekin was inthe air, it was too late to do anything about it. Glancing at the scoreboard, she could see they both had the same amount of points now. It was coming down to the wire. "Growl and Tackle!" She really needed to come up with some new combinations, but this was all she had to work with for now.
Ella looked up in amazement as the Fennekin seemed to fly past her. Then she was suddenly hit with flying fire balls. She started to run, but it was no use. Once it was over, she spun around to start her own attack. Growling, she made the fur on her back stand up. Then she leapt towards her opponent for a fierce Tackle. Level: 7 Attacks: Tail Whip, Tackle, Helping Hand, Growl, Sand-Attack Abilities: Run Away, Adaptability, Anticipation Hit By: Tail Whip, Ember Used: Growl, Tackle Health: Low Yellow/High Red Points: 44 |

Faith was impressed that Amber had managed to get the combination down perfectly. She hoped this was doing great things for their relationship. She decided to try something similar. "Jump and use Scratch!" There was greater risk to this one, but she wanted to try it out.
Amber was panting heavily as she stood there. This battle was taking a lot out of her. More jumping? Well, she would try. She turned around just as the Eevee growled. She hesitated before moving into action. She ran and then jumped in the air. She was so low that the Eevee hit her and caused her to stumble, but she made sure her claws were out so there was a chance she would injure her as well.
