Kiki tried hard to think of something new that she could do. Her opponent was doing a great job of using the limited attacks she knew. "Use Tackle and then Sand Attacl!" If she was quick enough, she might be able to do this without the Fennekin using Ember again. She really wanted Sand Attack to work like it was supposed to.
Ella smiled when she felt herself hit the Fennekin. She was flying above her again, but she still managed to get her. She winced when she felt her claws rank against her flank. This was not good! She took a deep breath before turning around. They were both getting tired, and she wondered if one of them would faint before the time ran out. She sped forward as fast as she could. Whether or not she hit her target, she would skid and fling up sand before running away again. Faith was impressed by the speed of that Eevee. She managed to use Tackle and Sand Attack before her Fennekin was able to react. The girl tried hard to think of a way to win this battle. Her Pokemon might not be able to attack well with that sand, so she decided to keep it simple. "Try to find out where she is and use Ember!" She held her breath as she waited to see what would happen.
Amber froze as she saw the Eevee coming towards her. Before she could figure out what to do, she was slammed with a Tackle. It took more energy to get up this time. Just when she had gotten to her feet, sand was flung into her eyes. She shook her head furiosuly in an attempt to get rid of it. She could just make out the Eevee through the sand, and she aimed and fired her Ember, hoping it would hit its mark. Kiki was pleased that the Sand Attack seemed to work this time. Now was her chance to turn the battle in her favor. "Quick, dodge it and use Tackle!" She did not have time to do anything else. She glanced at the clock. They were almost out of time. The winner of the contest would soon be decided.
Ella smirked when her sand hit the Fennekin's face. <Sorry,> she teased. She really wanted to win this battle. She darted back and forth as the Ember came right at her. She jumped in their air and flipped around, landing facing her opponent now. Then she raced forward for another Tackle. Faith gritted her teeth when the Eevee managed to dodge their last attack. This was not good. They were running out of time and Amber could not take much more. The only thing she could do was to keep up their strongest combination and hope it would be enough. "Tail Whip and Ember!"
Amber panted as she watched the effects of her attack. She had missed! She did not have the strength left to dodge the oncoming Tackle. She struggled to her feet once again. Was this battle ever going to end? It took an effort to bend down and swish her tail back and forth. She focused on her aim before releasing her Ember. Level: 5 Attacks: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember Abilities: Blaze, Magician Hit By: Tackle Used: Tail Whip Ember Health: Low Red Points: 10 |

Kiki watched as her Pokemon was struck by the fire balls. Both of them were about stretched to their limits right now. One more attack could do either of them in. The girl was determined to make hers the victorious one. "Ella, Tackle one last time!" She hoped this would work out as planned and win it for them.
Ella watced the Fennekin's tail. Then she was struck by the Ember attack. She was really started to detest that fire. She had fallen on her back, and she rolled over to get onto her feet. Once more? She could do it. With the last of her strength, she raced down the battlefield towards her opponent. This was going to be it. Amber panted as she watched the Eevee coming towards her. She had used up the last of her energy with that Ember, and she could not dodge. She felt her opponent hit her, and then everything went black.
Faith watched in dismay as her Pokemon fainted. "No, Amber!" She let out a sigh as she took out her Pokeball. "You were great. Thanks for trying." As she returned her her, she hoped that she had at least learned to trust her. They still had a long way to go in terms of their relationship. "Congratulations, Kiki. That was a great battle." She had certainly learned a lot. Level: 5 Attacks: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember Abilities: Blaze, Magician Hit By: Tackle Used: Health: --- Points: 0 |

Principal Sash watched the battle in excitment. She was not sure which coordinator was going to win. Their points were even for a while. Finally, the Fennekin fainted, and the battle was over. A smile on her face, she stood up and walked onto the stage with her microphone. "There you have it, folks. The winner of the January contest is Kiki from Johto! Congratulations!" While the crowd applauded, she pulled out a ribbon and handed it from Kiki. "Here you are. This is your second ribbon. Great job, and I hope to see both of you back here soon!" This was a great ending to a contest. Kiki has won the contest and earned a ribbon!
Kiki has earned 120 points for Team Johto!
Ella has gained four levels. She now knows Baby-Doll Eyes and Swift.
Amber has gained one level. |

Kiki watched in amazement as the Fennekin fell. She had really won? She grinned at her Eevee as she bounded over to her. "Great job, Ella. You were amazing." She had actually won a second contest. She returned her Pokemon to her Pokeball and then smiled at Faith. "Thanks. You performed well too. Good luck next time." She could tell she was a great coordinator, and she was sure she would win another ribbon soon. She turned to Principal Sash and accepted the ribbon from her. "Thank you so much!" She grinned as she held the ribbon her hand. Success! |
