Gary had arrived back home. Well, he was back in his home region, not his hometown. He was close enough to Pallet Town that he could walk there for a day. However, he did not want to waste any time, so he simply asked his grandpa to visit him in Viridian City the following day. This day was about searching for Pokemon. Sure, he could look for Pokemon back at Cherilli, but he wanted to catch some Kanto Pokemon so that he could earn some points for his team. Plus, there were some awesome Kanto Pokemon that he had dreamed of catching as a boy. If he had started his journey, he could already have them. He knew the most about Kanto Pokemon, so now was his chance to build up a strong team! The boy had left Viridian City early in the morning. The creatures of the forest would be just waking up, and he was hoping to find them. He looked around attentively and he walked along the path away from the city and deeper into the forest. He was ready for his Kanto adventure! |

From a nearby push a pair of onyx black eyes was watching the male trainer as he walked down the road from Pewter City. The eyes walked the trainer before the owner decided to strike, perhaps this trainer would prove to be a worth challenge. A blur of purple burst forth from the bush a rattling echoing through the air as the blur appeared in front of the trainer, taking the form of none other than an ekans. The snake like pokemon rattled it's tail declaring her challenge for a fight towards the trainer. The Ekans she hissed loudly as she reared back onto the end of her tail in an attempt to make herself look larger, "<Come trainer let us do battle!>" If this trainer proved strong enough she may even join him so she could one day become an Arbok. Gary stopped in surprise when he saw something come out at him. He recognized the Pokemon immediately as an Ekans! "Cool. Do you want to battle?" This one looked like a fierce opponent. Excellent. He loved a good challenge. "Ok, let's go Skipper!" He decided to release his Wartortle because he wanted his partner to experience his home region with him. "Start off with Water Gun!" He wanted to test the Ekans to see what she was capable of. He hoped this would be an interesting battle.
Skipper looked around curiously. This was not Cherilli Academy. He knew that his trainer was on a field trip to Kanto. This was where he grew up? It looked pretty cool to the Wartortle. He shook the thoughts away so he could focus on the oncoming battle. He could beat this snake! he sucked in a sharp breath and let it out in a stream of water. He wondered if he would get to see the Ekans' speed. The female Ekans hissed loudly as she raised herself on her tail standing at a towering height of six feet five inches, with two inches still on the ground, her full height being six feet seven inches. The lengthy snake like pokemon bared her fangs, her tongue flicking at the air as the two accepted her battle challenge. Her tail shook with joy, she was ready and set for a challenge. She was met with a stream of water, being struck dead on in the face and being sent sliding back across the terrain. The Ekans coughed and spat up water having had her mouth open when the move hit. She hissed loudly in annoyance as she raised to her full height standing on the tip of her tail and used her intimidate ability, making herself look as scary as possible to slice her foes attack. Ekans opened her mouth again and unleashed a barrage of poison needles that sailed forth towards the Wartortle. Gary was impressed with the way the Ekans towered even above him. She would have looked menacing and frightening to some, but that made him only that much more eager to battle. He knew his Wartortle felt the same way. He waited for a second to see what the Poison Sting would do. Then he issued another command. "Ok, use Tail Whip and Tackle!" He wondered what sort of strategy the poison type had to use against them. Did she rely on pure power or something more?
Skipper stared up at the Ekans, refusing to be intimidated. He knew he was up for quite a battle. He had no plans of losing, though. He shielded his face with his arms as poisonous darts flew his way. Fortunately, he could not feel himself weakening much, so he suspected he had not been poisoned. He dropped to all fours and whipped his tail back and forth. Then he raced forward to ram into the wild Pokemon. The female Ekans hissed loudly, a smirk on her lips as the poison sting nailed the foe. She licked her lips as she slithered along the ground moving about in a zig zag formation in order to make it as hard as possible for her opponent to lock onto her. She moved in a hypnotic dance as the training commanded the Wartortle to use his tail whip before the water type raced forth to hit her with a tackle. She slithered forth and prepared herself. She was going to allow the tackle to hit her so she could wrap around the turtles body and bite down hard with a bite attack. Gary watched the Ekans slithering around on the ground. It actually looked kind of cool. He then wondered why she seemed to be making no effort to dodge. He understood several seconds later. "Quick, Withdraw!" He watched his Pokemon withdraw into his shell after he was bitten. "Now use Muddy Water!" He hoped the Ekans did not quickly move away.
Skipper felt himself collide with the snake Pokemon. He had been suspicious of the other Pokemon's motives, but he was not stopping for anything. Then he suddenly found himself surrounded by the Ekans' body. He winced as he felt teeth sink into his skin. Then he hid inside his shell to raise his defense. Popping back out, he swept up muddy water from the ground and hurled it at the Ekans. The ekans hissed as she moved about after having unwrapped from the Wartortle as he escaped her. She reared up watching him as he unleashed his muddy water attack towards her. As the muddy water moved towards her she moved her body using her flexible snake like body to avoid the incoming attack allowing it to pass by her freely. The poisonous snake like pokemon licked her lips giving a cocky smile in the direction of the water type before she parted her lips unleashing a barrage of poison needles. Gary narrowed his eyes slightly when the Ekans managed to evade the attack. That was quite clever. He was going to have to think like her if he wanted to win this battle. He saw the poisonous darts coming quickly, and he came up with a plan to get rid of most of them. "Shoot those back with Water Gun!" He did not want his Pokemon to have another chance of being poisoned.
Skipper moved back to avoid the Ekans after finishing his attack. He wanted to try again, but he listened to his trainer. As the darts came flying at him, he shot his Water Gun along the same path, which would hopefully end in the Ekans. A few needles hit him, but he did not feel much of an effect. The ekans hissed in annoyance as the water gun attack blocked out her poison needles. She however got quite a shock when the water struck her sending her sailing through the air and crashing into a tree. She struggled to rise shaking her head. She faced her foe and released another poison sting, however she fired it upwards into the air on an angle causing the poison needles to rain down onto the terrain. Gary was pleased to see the Ekans was weakening. He could feel victory within his grasp. He could try to catch her now, but he wanted to see if he could win by defeating her. he could always heal her with a potion after he caught her. "Clever," it muttered upon seeing the way she used the Poison Sting. It seemed this one had a greater effect than the others. "Skipper, use Muddy Water!" He hoped the poisonous snake would not be able to dodge this one.
Skipper smirked at the Ekans as he watched her crash into a tree. Excellent. His eyes followed the poison needles as they rained down on him. He had no time to react. He felt energy drain from him; it seemed like the third time was the charm. No matter. This would soon be over. He ran forward on all fours. He skidded to s top when he neared the ekans and swept up water from the ground. The Female Ekans hissed out loudly as she was struck by the ground type move. She was went sailing through the air where she rolled across the muddy terrain, mud clinging to her scales. She struggled to rise panting heavily, bruises covering her form. She gave one last hiss before she collapsed into the mud having fainted from the battle, she lay there defeated easy to be captured. Gender: Female Level: 15 Attacks: Wrap, Leer, Poison Sting, Bite, Glare Abilities: Intimidate, Shed Skin, Unnerve Move Active: Intimidate (slices atk by one stage) Debuff: Def - Hit By: Muddy Water Used: Health: ---Congratulations Skipper has Levelled up to Level 18

Skipper watched in satsifation as the Ekans fainted. Then he walked back to his trainer and nodded proudly. "Great job, Skipper," he said as he pat his head. He was proud of him for battling hard. Now he took in the Ekans lying on the ground. She had proven to be quite strong, and he thought she would make a good edition to his team. With this in mind, he found an empty Pokeball and expertly threw it at the defeated Pokemon. |

Gary picked up the Pokeball and smiled. This Ekans would make a good Pokemon for his team once he trained her and toned her down. He put the ball away before taking out Skipper's. "You can take a rest for now," he said, returning the Wartortle. Then the trainer started to walk through the forest once again. He was not ready to call it a day yet, and he wanted to see if he could come across one more interesting Kanto Pokemon before he left the region. |
