Onatrux stood in front of the Pewter City gym, ready to open the doors and challenge the leader, Brock. Knowing already which Pokemon Brock was allowed to use when challenged, Onatrux was confident that he could overcome the opponent which lay before him.
Pushing the doors open, he entered the building, the rocky battlefield stretching out before him. It was his first time fighting a gym battle as the challenger, and though he was slightly on edge, he used these feelings to propel himself further, onto the battlefield where he called out, "Brock! I an Onatrux Ojex, originally from Olivine City, currently residing at Cherilli Academy. I challenge you to a battle!"

A young man stepped forward, his face hard and serious. Brock had heard about the Cherilli Academy field trip, and he was ready for the students. He had promised Principal Sash - once a challenger herself - that he would treat her students with respect and give them a chance to earn a gym badge. "Welcome," he boomed. "I accept your challenge." He walked up to stand on one side of the gym, and then he pulled out a Pokeball. "This will be a two on two battle. Meet my first Pokemon: Come on out, Geodude!" A large, floating rock with arms appeared before him, his expression matching his trainer's.

Studying the Geodude, Onatrux Quickly realized which Pokemon he should use to counter act it. "Inawari! I choose you!" He called out, throwing the Pokeball of the Female Froakie, releasing her onto the battlefield. "So, Brock. Who gets the first move?" Onatrux asked politely, not wanting to take to much advantage in the rock types weaker speed stat. Species: Froakie

Brock watched as the challenger chose his Pokemon. A water type was a good choice, but it was going to take more than type advantage to beat the gym leader. "You may have the first move," he said since it was custom. It would not give him much of an up anyway. It was time to begin!

Nodding to Brock, Onatrux took a moment to contemplate Inawari's moves. The only Water type attack she had was Bubble, which had the added benefit of reducing the opponent's speed. She also knew growl, with lowered a foe's physical Attacking ability. This would make a good combo right now. "Inawari! Use Growl, then follow up with Bubble!" Onatrux called out, with Inawari responded to with a thumbs up, then looked directly at the Geodude, growling angrily and releasing a fusillade of small bubbles that popped intensely upon impact. Brock watched his opponent's actons carefully. As soon as he knew what he was going to do, he was quick to come up with a counter plan. "Dodge that and use Tackle!" He remained calm as his Pokemon was able to complete the task of dodging. Now he had one more thing to finish this up. "Now Rock Polish."
Geodude kept hsi eyes on the Froakie. He dd not like the looks of that water type. WHen she started blowing bubbles at him, he quickly darted out of the way while moving forward. He gained speed as he aimed for a Tackle. Then he started to polish up in order to increase his speed.

"Inawari! Jump and use Bubble again, when it get's close!" Onatrux commanded, which the Froakie easily complied with. Jumping over the charging Geodude, She turned in mid-jump and fired more bubbles at it's backside, Hoping to hit for good damage. Species: Froakie

Brock had to admit he was impressed with the challenger's quick thinking. The water type did manage to dodge, and it looked like her own attack was going to hit. It was time for some damage control. "Goeode, Defense Curl and then Tackle!" He hoped it would work this time.
Geodude narrowed his eyes when the froggie managed to dodge his attack. Now she was headed towards him! He curled into a ball and braced himself for the attack. Luckily, it was not too bad. As soon as he felt the bubbles stop, he uncurled and hurled himself at his opponent.

Onatrux and Inawari were both dismayed to see the Dual rock and Ground type not take more damage. "I wanted to save this attack for Onix, But I guess I have no Choice. ICE BEAM!" He called out to the frog Pokemon, who before attacking turned a lighter shade of blue, then gathered a blue orb of ice energy above it's head in it's hands, bringing the energy down and releasing it in a blue beam that resembled a lightning bolt. The smart frog Pokemon took advantage of the lower speed of the rock type, making sure this attack would interrupt it's attack and be impossible to dodge at such a close range.

Brock was slightly surprised that the Froakie knew Ice Beam. This was not going to be good for his rock type. He would have to keep this in mind and be more careful next time. For now, he would have to make the best with what he had. It was good for him that is Geodude was quite tough. "Now, Geodude, use Tackle followed by Rock Polish." It was time for them to get back into the game.
Geodude grunted in surprise when his attack was invaded and he was hit with an Ice Beam instead. That was not cool! He was getting enraged that all of his attacks were missing. Who did this little punk think he was? He moved forward again, moving up and down to make it hard to dodge. When he was finished, he polished himself off.
