N is deeply attached to Pokémon. By growing among abused Pokémon, he grew to resent humans, avoiding contact with them. As a result of this he decided to become the hero of the Unova Legend so that he could free Pokémon from humans. While his intentions are indeed noble and born from what he truly believes is right, this also shows his naivety and innocence, failing to realize both that he's being manipulated, and that his views are extreme as not all humans mistreat Pokémon. When he was leader of Team Plasma, he could be quite serious. He was protective of his followers, confronting a trainer himself to buy enough time for his men to escape. In spite of this, he also remains a teenager and can enjoy things such as an Amusement Park.
History:
N is an orphan. Ghetsis raised him. Ghetsis tricked N into believing that Poke'mon are good, and people are scum, by raising him only around Poke'mon. This aided Ghetsis's plans, because it meant that N would support him when Ghetsis was supposedly saving Poke'mon.
N has the rare power to communicate with Poke'mon, which may be because he spent his whole live with them. Although N now realizes that not all people are bad, he still has a very low opinion of them. Now after releasing all of his Poke'mon including Zekrom/Reshiram he finds himself at Cherilli Academy where he will try to remake what people think of him and what he thinks of people.
