OOC: The order is alphabetical by first name: Faith, Hikage, Kiki, Nate, Paul, Yami, and Zane. If it is your turn and you do not post within 24 hours, you will be disqualified unless you message me the reason you need an extension. The results will be posted once everyone is finished and the staff gets them in. Four students will advance to the second round. Feel free to post characters in the audience. Do your best and good luck.
IC: Principal Sash was excited for the October contest. They had not had one for awhile because of the summer break, so this one was going to be extra special. Plus, more students had signed up for this one than ever before. She was looking forward to seeing all of the great talent manifested. The stands were full as everyone waited for the event to begin. The three judges, Miss Riverton, Mr. Knight, and Mr. Winston, sat at a table in front of the stage.When it was time to begin, Sash stepped onto the stage with a microphone in her hand and her Vulpix, Maya, by her side.
"Welcome, everyone!" she boomed, looking around at everyone with a wide smile. "I hope you're all doing well. Thank you for coming to the October contest! We have seven coodinators today who are sure to stun you with their elegance and moves. First we have Faith Donnellon from Hoenn!" She left the stage while everyone applauded. She took her sit, her fox sitting beside her, to watch the performance. This was going to be great! |

Faith waited backstage, fidgeting nervously. She already had one contest ribbon, but that did not mean she could not mess up. She knew she had to trust her Pokemon and try her hardest. She took a deep breath when her name was called and let it out slowly. This was it. She was first. She put a big smile on her face as she walked out onto the stage. She was wearing a simple pale blue dress with matching sandals and her hair up in a bun. She looked around at the audience before taking out a Pokeball. It was time. "Ziggy, time to shine!" She tossed the Pokeball in the air and a Kecleon appeared, doing a flip in the air before landing on his feet.
Then the girl pulled out a pecha berry. "Here you go, Ziggy." She tossed it at the Kecleon, who caught it and began to pass it between his hands. Faith added a second berry followed by a third, fourth and fifth. The Pokemon was soon juggling all the berries at a speed that made it hard to distinguish the individual berries. "Now Bind!" Ziggy tossed all of the berries into the air before wrapping his tail around them, trapping them. "Scratch!" He flung the berries into the air with his tail. Then he jumped up and slashed the berries, causing them to break into several pieces.
Just as the pieces were about to fall, his trainer cried out, "Astonish!" Ziggy sent a ball of energy at the berries, sending back into the air. "Finish it with Lick." The Kecleon suddenly blended into his surroundings, making it look like he was invisible except for a red stripe around his stomach. He shot out his tongue to catch the berry pieces and eat them, though it looked to the audience like the pieces were disappearing in thin air. When all the berries were gone, he reappeared and took a bow with Faith. The girl smiled as they walked off the stage. That had gone about as well as she could have hoped. Now she just had to see if she would advance! In the audience, Rika watched Faith's performance in something of her version of awe. She'd never seen someone enter a Kecleon in a Poke'mon Contest, much less use it like that.
She mutters 'wow' under her breath as she waits for the next competitor. "I hope the next one's just as good..."

Coming to the contest Tyler was a bit bummed she couldn't be in it, but it gave her the chance to scope out how others preform. Sitting with everyone else she found that she some how ended up sitting next to Rika. Being team mates they would probably do that often even if not meaning too. "That was a neat trick. Never seen that type of Pokemon either." She said while clapping. "Have you?" She. Asked curiously as they waited for the next one to come on stage. She would have to figure out a routine for Nyu to do, one that was more exciting then the feline sleeping on her head. As she thought about it she then got and idea and let Nyu out of her pokeball. The Meowth sat down happily on Thler's lap. "Look Nyu this is what you and I will be doing. This is a Pokemon Contest." She explained to the feline who smiled at her then turned to watch the stage.

Rika looks surprised that she ended up sitting next to Tyler. She didn't see that coming at all. "I have. Once or twice. I grew up in Hoenn. Moved to Kanto when I was four."
She begins to space out, staring at the stage but not actually looking.

Principal Sash watched the performance silently from her seat. She had seen this Kecleon perform before, and she thought he had gotten even better. "What a creative way to use Kecleon's natural abilities," she said. "And those berries look good!" She smiled as everyone applauded. "Next, please give a big hand for Hikage from Unova!" |

Excited to see the next act, Rika ends up falling off her seat. Hoping no one noticed, she quickly gets back up on her seat. "Dammit...." She mutters under her breath.
While the next act is getting ready, she thinks about what kind of trainer she wants to be. She already knows that she wants to collect gym badges, but contests look fun too...

Sash waited a whole five minutes for Hikage to show up. When he did not, she returned to the stage and spoke once again into the microphone, "I'm sorry about that, folks. It seems Hikage is running a little late. We'll add him to the end of our list. For now, please welcome Kiki Jones from Johto!" Now, this girl was sure to show up. The principal returned to her seat with a smile. |

Rika was slightly disappointed that someone didn't show - she was looking forward to everyone's performance. But hey, at least there were plenty more acts to come! She slouches back in her chair, waiting for the next performance.

Kiki was not expecting to be up so soon. Where was this Hikage person? Oh well. She had already won one contest, so she was not that nervous. She trusted her Pokemon and knew he would do a good job. Her hair was up in a ponytail, and she was wearing a simple black dress as she walked out on stage. She smiled at the crowd before tossing a Pokeball in the air. "Come on out, Crunch!" The Blitzle appeared with a flash of electricity. He neighed and stomped a hoof on the floor.
"Start off with Charge!" Crunch stood still while sparks flew around his body as he charges his electricity. "Now Quick Attack followed by Flame Charge!" The Blitzle began to dart across the stage. As he gained speed, his body slowly began to be engulfed in flames. "Ok, Shock Wave!" Crunch screeched to a halt. While he was stills surrounded by fire, bolts of electricity escaped from his body, dancing with the fire to create colorful lights in the air. Then everything subsided, and the Blitzle returned to normal. He snorted as his trainer bowed. Then the two of them walked off the stage together. Sash was glad that Kiki showed up. Her performance was quite interesting. "Look at that fire," she commented. "I have never seen an electric type showed off this way." The fire certainly looked good combined with the electricity. "Alright, now give it up for Nate from Sinnoh!" |

Rika cheered almost too loudly when the girl finished. She'd loved it. She knew that Blitle and it's evolved form, Zebstrika, could learn flame charge, but that, in her opinion, was awesome!

Nate watched the other performances from the TV backstage. He was especially interested in the Blitzle for he would be using an electric type as well. He was glad they would be using their Pokemon quite differently. He didn't know if his performance was going to be as good as Kiki's, but he would give it his best. Finally deciding to put some thought into his outfit, he was dressed in a red polo and khaki slacks. He smiled at Kiki as he walked past her onto the stage. He took a deep breath before pulling out a Pokeball. "Let's do this, Chelsea!" The Shinx had not seen the benefit in performing in a contest, but her trainer eventually convinced her that it would be a good challenge.
Nate pulled out a ball of yawn and tossed it at his Pokemon. "Baby-Doll Eyes." Chelsea happily pawed the ball of yarn like a kitten. Then she looked at the audience and made her eyes look big and cute. "Now, Tackle and Bite!" Chelsea picked up the ball of yawn in her mouth, tossed it in the air, and hit it with her head. Then she jumped in the air and caught it with her enlarged teeth. She ferociously shook the yarn. "Charge." She sat down to charge her energy. "Finish it with Spark and Leer!" The Shinx let out stream of electricity from all areas of her body while she glared, the yarn still in her mouth. She hoped she looked strong and fearsome. After the audience applauded, she turned and followed her trainer backstage. Sash smiled when she saw the Shinx play with a ball of yarn. "Aww... how cute." And then the tempo of the performance changed drastically. "Wow. Despite her cuteness, she looks quite fierce." If that was what they were going for, they were doing a good job. She wondered if the judges would like it. After the applause died down, she said, "Now, give a hand for Paul from Sinnoh!" |

Principal Sash waited for Paul to show up, but he did not. She frowned when she realized she had another student who was either late or had ditched the contest. "Sorry for that, folks," she said into the microphone. "We'll give him a little more time as well. For now, give it up for Yami Hateshiginai from Hoenn!" She hoped this guy would appear soon. |
