Yami stepped out onto the Contest floor dressed in a silk green and white kimono with matching Hakama pants. He had his hands in the sleeves of his kimono. He stepped out into the light as he removed his hands from his sleeves pulling out a single pokeball containing the pokemon he would utilise for the contest today, his Dragonair Ryuujin. He had been watching the other competitors and their pokemon showing off their skills and style from back stage on the monitor screen. It had been a rather impressive display so he had to step up and try and out do his competitors. Yami enlarged the pokeball in the palm of his hand and tossed it up into the air, "Ryuujin let's go" cried Yami as the sphere opened up and in a beam of light appeared a beautifully blue scaled Dragonair that was emitting a gentle sapphire blue aura giving it a mystical appearance, "Just like we practiced" commanded Yami getting a nod from his Dragonair. The dragon pokemon parted his lips releasing a sky blue beam of ice up into the air. The beam began to separate coming back down in five segments towards the ground. As the ice beams descended bright orange and yellow flames burst to life igniting along the streams of ice, the super heated temperature from the flames melted the ice inside the technique causing water to rain down around the arena. As it rained down the dragonair took flight released an angelic soothing thrill as he flew through the air. The rain reflected off the light causing a rainbow to appear on stage. The Dragonair sailed through the rainbow, the seven colours flowing behind him giving him a mythical look, an appearance often only seen in Fairy Tales. Ryuujin flew back down to the stage where he curled up on his tail before being returned to the confines of his pokeball. Without even waiting the Hoenn trainer left. Sash was impressed with Yami's chpice of Pokemon. The Dragonair was simply beautiful, and he looked powerful as well. "Excellent use of opposites," she said, admiring the water. "And Dragonair looks dazzling flying through the air!" She thought that the trainer really knew how to bring out the strong points of his Pokemon. She clapped alone with the audience when the performance finished. "Now, please give a hand for Zane from Kalos!"

Zane had not prepared well for this contest. He had meant to teach Nanuk some new attacks, but he had not gotten around to it. Therefore, he did not have much to work with. He hoped the judges liked his performance anyone. He casually walked onto the sage with a smile on his face. Then he pulled out a Pokeball and pressed the button while the ball was level with his head. The Cubchoo appeared and spread his arms out happily. Zane picked him up and tossed him in the air while causing him to roll. Nanuk fell tot he ground, rolling into a ball. He stopped at the edge of the stage and posed with his arms up. "Ok, Powder Snow!" The ice type released powdery snow that lightly fell down on the stage. "Now Growl!" He growled endearingly while he became covered in snow. Then the two of them bowed and exited the stage. Species: Cubchoo Type: Ice Name: Nanuk Gender: Male Level: 5 Attacks: Growl, Powder Snow Abilities: Snow Cloak, Rattled Hit By: Used: Powder Snow, Growl Health: High Green

Sash found the Cubchoo quite cute. However, it was obvious that he did not know many moves. "That looks like fun," she said. "And the snow is so pretty." She smiled and clapped with the rest of the audience. "Now, is Hikage here?" She waited a minute for him to show up before speaking again. "Ok, how about Paul?" Were the performances finished?

Rika cooed as the Cubchoo did it's thing on the stage. She wasn't usually one to go for that kind of thing, but sometimes a girl has to be a girl you know? Rika slumped back into her chair when it was time to wait for the next entrant.

After thoroughly glaring at Nate, Paul grudgingly walked onto the stage. Nate had thought it would be extremely amusing to sign him up for the Pokemon contest. He had tried to avoid going to it anyways, but Nate dragged him there and nearly shoved him on stage. Paul detested contests; he did not see the point in them. You couldn't strengthen your Pokemon properly through it. There was the part where the Pokemon battled, but the goal was still to show off the Pokemon's beauty. What was the point of beauty if the Pokemon was not strong? In order to prepare for this, Paul had simply trained his Pokemon extra hard. His goal for this contest was to show everyone the strength of his Pokemon. He would not make a fool of himself.
Once he got to a good spot on the stage, he stopped and tossed a Pokeball. "Thorn, stand by!" His Grotle appeared with a big grin. Paul frowned. "Use Growth!" Thorn grew in size before everyone's eyes. "Razor Leaf continuously!" Thorn sent sharp leaves flying everywhere and did not stop. Soon, there were leaves flying all around. "Now Absorb!" The Grotle concentrated on the leaves and sent forth his glowing green light. The light came into contact with multiple leaves, and he absorbed them. He kept doing this until all of the leaves were gone.
"Razor Leaf!" Once again, Thorn sent leaves flying. "Solar Beam." Thorn eyed the leaves as he grew a solar beam from his mouth. When it was big enough, he released it, and it forcefully struck all of the leaves, causing an explosion in the air. He looked very happy at his successful performance and nearly started to attempt to dance. To keep him from doing so, Paul returned him to his Pokeball. He gave the audience a curt bow and then walked off the stage.

Principal Sash smiled when Paul finally showed up. He did not look too happy to be there, but maybe she was just imaging things. His Grotle certainly had a lot of energy. "Interesting combination choices," she noted. "Grass type moves are being shown off well, and I can tell Thorn has a lot of power." She applauded along with everyone else. When Paul had left the stage, she got up and made her way to the middle of the stage, her microphone in her hand. "And that's all for the appeals round. Our judges will soon decide who will be moving onto the battle rounds. Please hold tight for a few minutes!" She wondered what the judges would think about everyone's performances.

Several minutes later, Sash returned to the stage. "Alright, the results are in!" she exclaimed. "The coordinators moving on will be shown on the computer screen!" The picture of four trainers appeared on the screen: Nate, Yami, Faith, and Kiki. "Now let's find out who will be paired with who." The pictures were mixed. Then pairings were shown. "The battles will be Yami vs. Kiki and Nate vs. Faith. Good luck to everyone!" She could not wait to see who would earn the ribbon. OOC: I will create two threads for y'all. In Yami and Kiki's thread, Yami will post first and will have the first move. In Nate and Faith's thread, Nate will post first and have the first move.
