Kaitlin is a very shy, slightly socially awkward young woman. An only child who was home schooled by an army of private tutors and nannies, attending Cherilli Academy will be her first foray into the wide world of Pokemon training and so she is quite apprehensive about the experience. Despite her shyness she is actually quite nice, and is willing to lend an ear or a shoulder to those in need.
Due to her upbringing she can sometimes be quite sarcastic with her remarks and generally speaking habits, and that sometimes is lost on people who don't understand sarcasm. She is generally the last to talk or join in on a conversation, but she is always aware of what is being done and said around her, and she is quite observant.
History:
Kaitlin's father was on a business trip, traveling around the regions when he got the message that his wife was pregnant with their first child. By the time he got back to Saffron City, the baby had been born and was already a couple of months old. Raised with loving care by her parents, Kaitlin had a happy childhood. When she was twelve, her mother passed away from aggressive, stage four breast cancer and an awkward silence settled over her life. Withdrawn and depressed, Kaitlin's father tried sending her to therapy but it wasn't very helpful.
However, one day he came home with a Growlithe puppy and taking care of the young canine seemed to bring Kaitlin out of her depression. She became more active and happy with the young fire type by her side, and the impact that the Growlithe had on the teenager was astounding. As she continued to grow, her love for Pokemon grew along with it and she often could be seen wandering around the grounds of her house, looking for Pokemon, taking pictures and making illustrations of them. Finally, her father decided that Saffron was not the best thing for his young daughter and so he enrolled her in Cherilli Academy, with the hope that she would become a gifted trainer.
