Well, that trip to the office was exhausting.
But yet there was still plenty of things left to be done, as Adel was now outside the building that belonged to his 'team', and where his dorm room was located. Hopefully his stuff had made it in one piece on the way over!
As he was starting to make his way over to the entrance though, something managed to catch his attention out of the corner of his eye. Something out in some nearby bushes. Adel had no clue how he noticed this, but somehow he did. Having turned to walk over towards it, he ended up putting down his bag and crouched down for a closer look. Something kind of round was sticking out from beneath the bushes, and he appeared quite shocked when what it was had become apparent to him. There was a Pokémon Egg out here! But what in the world was it doing here by itself?
Nervously glancing around the area, Adel couldn’t see anyone, or anything else, around. Did someone lose it, or leave it behind? That was beyond strange, for something like this to be out here. Not only that, but this didn’t seem good. Even he understood that eggs, and chilly air, did not mix. Just by looking at it, he was pretty sure it wasn’t the egg of an ice type. Which those would probably work a little differently. But he’d give himself a headache trying to figure that one out. Once the issue he was presented with here started to sink in, Adel knew that he’d need to do something about this egg. He couldn't just leave it here like this. But he was feeling reluctant, similarly to when he’d taken hold of the Minccino’s Poké Ball.
Slowing reaching out towards it with both of his hands, he was hovering with about an inch of space between his hands and the egg. Unable to actually close that gap without hesitating. He only barely managed to force himself a second time to do so, after he had tightly shut his eyes closed. He could feel it now, his fingers cradling the shell. And the weight it held as he lifted it up off the ground. But what really bothered him was how cool it was, that was the opposite of a good thing. Now peeking through cracked open eyelids, he could hardly believe he was actually holding one of these things. A Poké Ball was one thing, but an egg? It was hard for him to sort out the feelings he was going through, that he nearly lost his focus on the situation right now. Shaking his head, he now hugged the egg closer to his body, tucking it beneath his jacket to envelop it entirely in temporary warmth. The sudden chill from it had made him shiver suddenly, which he wasn’t happy about… And it took a lot of effort to remind himself that it was just an egg right now, nothing more.
Adel made his way right over to his room in a hurry, after realizing that things seemed a bit lacking where people were concerned, in this building. Going right in once he found it, and shutting the door behind him. On the other side, things looked pretty much untouched and unused, as was to be expected. He could see there were a couple of boxes that belonged to him on the one side of the room. ”Alright. Let’s see here…” He’d muttered to himself as he set aside the egg on the bed for a moment, leaving his jacket with it as well, and deposited his bag somewhere out of the way.
Adel didn’t really want to waste time, so things started to get kind of messy as he pulled out boxes from the pile. Opening them up to again pull more things out, tossing a couple of things aside when he needed to dig down towards the bottom. ”Here we go!” Finding what he was looking for, he took these items over to the desk. Two blankets, and one of them had a cord attached to it.
Placing the normal blanket down, and working it into a round shape to cradle the egg, he then gently placed the egg right on top. Making sure things were steady, he plugged in what was an electric blanket, and draped it over the egg on the low setting. ”There…” Hopefully that would help warm it back up a bit again. And tomorrow he would then try to see if he could figure out what to do with it, including finding out where it came from, if it had an owner somewhere. Right now he needed to focus on straightening things out in his room, it looked like a disaster now than it did before after he had gone rummaging through stuff in a hurry.
Distracting himself for the next couple of hours with cleaning up his room and getting things organized, Adel was now starting to hit his limit. He was still checking up on the egg of course, and making sure it was warmed up evenly by fixing the position of both it and the electric blanket where needed. But eventually he decided to turn it off once he thought the egg seemed warm enough. Now he felt like taking a nap… Which he went out pretty quickly once he fell into bed.
What he didn't know however, was how his assistance had helped it reach that crucial point in getting ready to hatch. Peacefully unaware of it starting to shake beneath its cover, and the shell now cracking.
(OOC: I think his team definitely needs to have ‘cute’ as the main theme. Because I find this idea both adorable and hilarious. Lol. Also, lame egg pun is lame. I'm terrible with thread titles.)
