Attempting to Train [Mod]

It was probably high time that Adel started doing some actual Pokémon Trainer stuff. Which was why he was here in the training room, standing in front of one of the machines.
”Hmm… Could I disable certain types?” He wondered aloud as he popped on the helmet to take a look. After trying to brush up a little bit more on his Pokémon knowledge beforehand, Adel had managed to figure out a couple of the types he could possibly see through this machine. As a complete rookie to this stuff, he figured he would be slightly okay with doing some battling if it was virtual, since it wasn’t the real thing. But real or fake, there was only one thing he was not going to deal with. Which unfortunately by having gotten himself a grass type, by mistake he might add, that made it quite possible for what he didn’t want to see to show up in the machine.
”How does this thing work…?” You needed to put on the helmet, that he understood perfectly. But he couldn’t seem to find what he wanted after trying to fiddle with the machine a bit, which disappointed him. Still wanting to go through with this, he settled for moving on with the required step. After putting the helmet down for a moment, he pulled a ball off the strap of his messenger bag, and stared at it for a moment with a hesitant look. This one was a little bit odd for him, just from how excitable it seemed. Which would become apparent once he pressed the button to enlarge it and gave the ball a small toss. Releasing the tiny Petilil, that he decided to name Maata, from her confines.
Appearing from the beam of light that the Poké Ball had produced, the young grass type had looked around at her new environment curiously. This was very different compared to home! But what excited her more was turning around to look up at the boy that she regarded as her parent, bouncing up and down happily as she hurried over to him. ”Lil! Lil!”
He figured it wouldn’t hurt to try practicing with training, in the attempt to become stronger as a trainer. But he still tensed up as he watched Maata suddenly come over and start clinging onto his leg. The first time he tried to keep her off him, he couldn’t stand the resulting bawling that came of it. So now he expected to be subjected to unwanted cuddles from this Pokémon for a long time. ”Here. Put this on…” He tried to warn her as he went to grab a helmet. Gently placing it over the head of the unaware grass type.
The Petilil wasn’t paying attention to anything besides making sure to give her parent lots of hugs. Barely even hearing his words as she was too preoccupied. So it was pretty confusing when things went dark around her suddenly. ”Petilil?!” She cried out her confusion. Growing afraid of whatever this thing was.
He could’ve swore he felt the Petilil start clinging to him even tighter than before as he put the helmet on her. ”Um… Sorry, Maata. Don’t worry, it’ll be fine.” It wouldn’t do either of them any good to have her freaking out on him, so he had attempted to reassure her. Even going so far as to pull up the helmet for a second. ”See? It’s only temporary. We’re going to use it to train.” He watched as the Petilil looked up at him, blinking her small red eyes. It was hard to guess if she even really understood him. But she did seem more willing to wear the helmet once he put it back on her. To which she then piped up, and had released him. ”Lil!” Moving over to a better position beside the machine, she waited for him now.
Grabbing his own helmet again, he gave it another good look for a moment. Silently pleading as he put it on, for there to be no fire types.

The moment the two put their helmets on the machine turned itself lights coming to life as pixels of light formed around them encasing the virtual training room. A bright light came on from above as pixels of light descended down flying all around heading towards the walls shifting back and forth through various colours and patterns. A robotic feminine voice echoed through the virtual training room, "S imulation activated, activating battle procedures. Activating training room protocol selecting battle location" spoke the voice as the lights began to dye down as the little pixels fused together as the room vanished being replaced. All around the two was now a large beautiful forest with towering great Oak Trees. The sky was a deep blue with very few clouds in the sky, number of bird like pokemon taking flight followed by numerous bug types. "Location selected, Viridian Forest. Activating Pokemon Scan Protocol, scanning activated' a harmless beam of light shot forth towards the Petilil encasing the tiny pokemons body, "Scanning 10%....20%....50%" spoke the female voice, "Scan 100% completed. Pokemon acknowledge the grass type Petilil, selecting challenger" another beam of light rained down from the sky hitting the ground where little pixels of light came together in the form of a Pidgey, " Flying type Pidgey selected. Let the battle commence" said the voice as she faded away waiting for the battle to end so she may reactivate.

The sudden light had surprised both of them. Adel gasping as he watched everything around them through the helmet suddenly change. Once all the random pixels had settled, the handiwork of the machine was one heck of a sight to behold. ”Whoa…” That was actually kinda cool. And so real looking too! For the moment, Adel just took the time to simply admire the scenery. The forest really reminded him of his old home. Making it easy to get sidetracked with memories...
At the same time, Maata was also fascinated by what that strange doohickey on her head managed to do. Up until the machine had needed to scan her, which made for quite the distraction itself. ”Peti?!” The sudden beam of light that shone on her managed to freak her out for a second. What was it doing now?! Examining her body the entire time that it was scanning her, she couldn’t figure out what it was. The Petilil even tried moving around a bit to see if she could ditch it somehow, which didn't seem to really work. But she certainly felt a lot better once it went away eventually. Whatever it was for, it must've had something to do with the next light. Maata's head leaned to the side curiously as she watched the pixels form into something. A fellow Pokémon? "Petilil?" She attempted to communicate with with the digital Pidgey.
Finished with his reminiscing, Adel was now staring at the Pidgey that the machine had produced. That looked... Pretty real too... But all this was virtual, so he shouldn't be getting worried about it. Having heard the voice say that they could commence the battle, Adel wanted to get started. Though it seemed Maata was a little more interested in interacting with it... He tried to get her attention. "Uh... Maata?" It seemed to work, as she looked to him and replied with an eager, "lil!"
He proceeded to point at the Pidgey. "You need to attack it. Use, uh... Absorb, was it?" This stuff should have been super easy to remember... She did have only one attack after all! For a worrying second the Petilil just gave him a curious look at first, before suddenly doing a single happy bounce. This was all pretty new for her too, and she seemed to really want to do her best with this. Creating a small green beam between the two stubs on her body that would be considered 'arms', it was shot out right for the bird.

The virtual pokemon looked around, " Gey" said the flying pokemon as it pecked at the ground going about its day unaware of the impending doom that would soon be upon it. The Pidgey scratched and clawed at the ground ignoring the grass type and her training looking as if it was digging for worms. However the moment he felt the beams hit his body he jumped back in shock flapping his wings about from the shock of it. The bird like pokemon flapped about hysterically as it looked around for the culprit that had attacked it. The pidgey locked it's eyes onto the grass type Petilil and screeched in righteous fury at her. The flying type glared in the direction of the Pidgey before spreading its wings wide and taking off into the air flying high above the battlefield where it began to circle around the battlefield before dive bombing towards the Petilil heading straight for the grass type intending to slam into her with a tackle attack. ”Lil! Lil!” She actually hit him! Although that might’ve only had to do with the Pidgey being preoccupied with his own business, she was too happy to really care about that kind of detail. Feeling the excess of collected nutrients that was stolen by her attack, it seemed too bad that it would just go to waste like that, as she was still pretty healthy at the moment. Her moment of pride would only last briefly though, once her opponent screeched furiously at her. Looking up from the dissipating green orb, she now watched the bird. Unsure of what he was up to once he took off into the air.
That actually worked! Seems their first battle would turn out okay. Maata sure looked happy about it too. Maybe if they kept this up, they would make some good progress… Or maybe things wouldn’t be that easy, as Adel was also watching the Pidgey. Observing the following screech and nasty looking glare from it, which was frightening to see how angry it was, after it had been caught off guard by Maata’s attack. The behavior sure seemed realistic too… But yikes that was one temperamental bird. ”I think we made it mad...”
”...lil?” He was mad? Well, that didn’t sound good to Maata. After he made his final circle around them up there out of reach. All they could see at first was a small speck, but then it seemed like that speck was growing in size as it was rapidly descending towards Maata. ”Look out! It’s coming right for you!” Adel tried to warn her once he realized what it was up to. But instead of the result he had hoped for, Maata panicked. ”Liiil!” Her inexperience showed as she uselessly ran around in circles like a sitting Ducklett. Only attempting to flee after the bird had gotten close already. ”Maata?!”
This one was going to be a painful lesson learned as the Pidgey’s attack connected full force. She got knocked down flat on her face. That was just mean… Never mind that both she and Adel had started it first by attacking him. Not only did that hurt, but now she was all dusty. ”Pet…” She said sadly as she picked herself back up, looking back at the Pidgey with the sign of tears welling up in her eyes.
”Um... Try again, Maata. P-Please?” The last part he quickly added nervously the moment the Petilil had turned to look at him with those sad eyes. She seemed to obey though after shaking the dust off. Preparing another beam to launch at the mean Pidgey. Maybe she'd feel a little better after absorbing some of his energy. At least something else would help too with the injury she had sustained, as the Leftovers became useful in dulling the pain a little.

The pidgey flew down landing on a branch and turned to face the group glaring at them slightly as he folded his wings over pulling them in close to his body. He squeaked loudly at them his words not understandable at all as he was a simulation. He cried out as he felt his strength waver again but unlike before this seemed stronger dishing out more damage to his tiny bird like body even if it wasn't that effective against him. He growled opening his lips as he spread his wings open wide and leapt off from the branch taking flight into the air launching up high into the sky. He flew up above the tree tops before he dived bombed heading straight towards the Petilil again aiming to hit her with a tackle attack just like before. The Simulation didn't know very many moves so it could only stick with the one attack. Species: Pidgey Level: 1 Attacks: Tackle Abilities: Keen Eyes, Tangled Feet, Big Pecks. This time somehow seemed quite different compared to her previous attack, as she noticed that she had taken a lot more energy than expected. This really surprised Maata. Still, she kind of felt bad for the Pidgey once she took notice of how it cried out from that. At the very least, she tried to cry out to him in the attempt of apologizing. ”Lil!” In the meantime, her own body started glowing green as it did its work to take in as much energy as it could, which did in fact make her feel better. The rest that was leftover having faded away to nothing in seconds.
But by the looks of it, it seemed as if the Pidgey was still pretty mad. And may not have taken any notice to her apology, or just didn't care at this point. This kind of made her sad. And she definitely knew what he was up to this time, once he took off into the sky again. Figuring out how to not get hit again was the challenging part though.
Staring up out into the canopy of trees where he had gone, Maata began to wonder when and where he would come back down. Starting to grow nervous after she lost sight of him.
Adel was also keeping an eye out for the bird. After Maata went on with continuing the battle, he felt relieved that she hadn't gotten upset with him. He couldn't help it when he warned about the Pidgey, but he did panic a little bit himself at that moment. Since Maata wasn't exactly quick on her feet just yet, that meant he would have to try figuring something out so he could be more helpful here. Less panicking would be a good start. Because that didn't exactly pan out like he hoped it would. ”Lil...” He heard her say, which held a hint of nervous energy.
In moments, it seemed the bird had no plans of taking its time here. As the small ball of feathers had suddenly dived back down, both of them noticed it fairly quickly. "T-There! Dodge it!" Adel quickly spoke without thinking. And this time Maata ended up moving off over to the side in a hurry. However she hadn't reacted quick enough to get out of the way, and still managed to get whipped in the face by his wing as he zoomed by. Stumbling backwards since she hadn't expected that. It wasn't as bad as last time, but it did still hurt. ”Lil.”
That seemed to work out better. At least a little bit anyway. "Alright... One more time, Maata. Use Absorb!" Could she actually hit him mid-flight though? So far a still target was much easier to hit... Guess there was only one way to find out. So she gave it a try, and fired another green beam.

The virtual pokemon huffed as it felt its energy being drained again by the grass type. The pokemon flapped it's wings giving an angry battle cry as he took flight again, his opponent may have dodged most of his attack, but this time he would aim to strike them at full force. The Pidgey flew up into the bright blue sky simulated by the Virtual room, flying high above the simulated Viridian Forest. The Pidgey then flew downwards with a loud squawk as he sailed down towards the Petilil in an attempt to use another tackle attack.
