Yami stepped of from the boat that had brought him to Olivine City. He had gone on a class field trip the Johto Region that had departed just yesterday for Olivine City. They were only here for a short time so he wouldn't have the ability to explore all of Johto fighting the different gym leaders only the one, Jasmine. They had been informed ahead of time that Jasmine would be using a number of lower level pokemon for the students that would be arriving as not all had high level pokemon and would be thoroughly thrashed if they dared to fight Jasmine at full strength, so he had altered his team accordingly going with his Vulpix and Onix with his Archen in reserve should he decide to use the flying rock type pokemon instead of one of the others he had chosen specifically for this match. He hummed lightly as he slid his hands into the sleeves of his kimono. He had his pokeballs stored inside of his sleeves attached to loosely hanging threads of silk that had been intentionally added to the inside of the sleeves. He made his way towards the port city from the docks looking around with an amused expression as he took in the sights of the city. It had been awhile since he had been away from shupert city, he rather missed the outside world. He made his way through the city streets ignoring the people as he made his way to his desired location the city gym. He wanted to know just how these gym leaders compared to the battle leaders. He had defeated Jenna and now he was curious to take on one of the regions Gym leaders. He approached the steel gym and slowly opened the doors pulling out a single pokeball containing his Vulpix. He walked right in and announced his presence, " Hateshiginai, Yami here to challenge the steel gym leader Jasmine to a pokemon battle" announced Yami,

The lights of the gym turned on, and Jasmine could be seen walking to one end of the battlefield. "Welcome," she said. "I'm Jasmine. You're a student from Cherilli Academy, correct?" She recognized his name from the list Principal Sash had given her. She had been glad to work with the school to give some students a chance to face a real gym leader. She hoped this would be a great learning experience for them. However, that did not mean she would be going easy on them. "This will be a two on two battle. Here is my first Pokemon." She held up a Pokeball and released a Magnemite. The electric and steel type hovered in the air in front of her. "You may have the first move. Show me what you've got." (Ooc: sorry its short posted via phone) Yami nodded his head at Jasmines question. He reached into the sleves of his kimono and pulled out a single pokeball, "Come out Amaterasu" commanded yami as he tossed the sphere into the air and im a beam of light appeared a young female vulpix. The fire fox gave a cute little yawn and turned to face the steel type pokemon, "Start with sunny day and follow with a fire blast" commanded yami. Amaterasu yipped in response before she released bright rays of light from her fur that illuminated the gym. She parted her lip ls unleashing a large rush of flames. The flames launched forth taking the shape of the kanji for fire, almost looking like a man, as they launched forth to engulf the magnemite. Jasmine was impressed with the challenger's strategy and moves. It seemed like Cherilli Academy taught its students well. "Fly up to dodge it!" She confidently looked across the battlefield at Yami. "Not bad." She wondered what else he had up his sleeve. Whatever it was, she would come up with something to counteract it. "Alright, Magnemite, use Tackle and follow it up with Supersonic!" It would be beneficial to them if the Vulpix became confused.
The Magnemite flew high into the air to avoid the flames. Unfortunately, the fire reached too high for him to dodge them completely, and the lower half of his body was hit by it. He wasted no time in zooming down for a counterattack. Whether or not he hit the Vukpix, he would send out odd sonic waves that would hopefully confuse the target. Yami watched from the side lines taking track of the battle watching with a blank expression. His Vulpix's Fire Blast looked like it had done significant damage as Jasmine's Magnemite had been unable to dodge the incoming Fire Blast completely. Yami watched the field as his Vulpix had retreated to create a little distance, "Vulpix dig in then avoid that supersonic and use another Fire Blast" commanded the trainer getting a yip from his Vulpix in response. He would have to ensure Vulpix avoided becoming confused, if she became confused this battle would be all over for her and he would have to resort to his secondary pokemon which he wasn't prepared to send out until Vulpix had dealt with Magnemite and then weakened whatever Jasmine's second pokemon was. Amaterasu yipped in response to her masters commands as the Magnemite rushed in towards her zooming forth with a tackle attack. She dug her paws in as the Magnemite collided with her sending her sliding back a few inches. She looked up as the Magnemite then released odd sonic waves unleashing them towards her. She then began to move swiftly dashing around the sonic waves to avoid them to prevent confusion. Once she had completely avoid them she inhaled before exhaling a large blast of flames that rushed forth towards the steel type pokemon. Jenna observed the Vulpix running around on the floor to avoid the Supersonic attend. That was pretty clever. She could try that attack again,but she would probably get a similar result. She decided to go with something different. "Fly up and use Thunder Shock!" Magnemite could use the electric attack from up high, which would make it easier to dodge the fire Pokemon's next attack.
Magnemite narrowed his eyes when he saw the Vulpix running. That was no fair! Oh well. he flew up to avoid the second Fire Blast, getting partially hit like he had the first time. he took a deep breath, releasing his energy in an electric attack that would shock the Vulpix. Yami brushed a strand of hair behind his ear as the Magnemite was commanded to use his thunder shock, "Amaterasu counter with Fire Blast! Maximum power!" commanded the trainer. Fire Blast by design was a superior move to Thunder Shock rivalled by the move Thunder. He was counting on the intense heat from the fire blast combined with the electrical power of the thunder shock to cause some sort of explosion to occur but he was counter on the boost from Sunny Day and the same type attack bonus Vulpix's attack would receive to over power the thunder shock to try and end this battle. Amaterasu gave a might roar as she swung her tails causing them to catch ablaze. Fire danced around the paws of her feet as she inhaled doing as he trainer commanded. She focus all her strength into the fire blast in order to make it as strong as possible before she parted her lips and unleashed a giant raging inferno of crimson red flames mixed with orange and yellow that rushed forth to meet the Thunder Shock head on. The Thunder Shock and Fire Spin slammed into each other, setting off an explosion that sent smoke across the whole battlefield. Jasmine shielded her eyes with her arms to protect them. When the smoke cleared, it could be seen that the Magnemite had fainted. Jamsine smiled sadly as she returned him to his Pokeball. "Thanks for the battle Magnemite." She nodded at Yami. "Not bad. Let's see how you deal with my second Pokemon. Come on out, Steelix!" She released a large, rock snake. "Start off with Rock Tomb!"
The Steelix roared to signal the start of the battle. Then he fixed his icy eyes on the Vulpix. She was going down! He raised his head as he became outlined in white energy. Gray rocks formed in a circle around his head, which were also glowing. When he stopped glowing, the rocks moved and fell down onto his opponent. Level: 14 Attacks: Tackle, Supersonic, Thunder Shock, Sonic Boom Abilities: Magnet Pull, Sturdy, Analytic Hit By: Fire Blast Used: Health: ---  Level: 15 Attacks: Heavy Slam, Thunder Fang, Mud Sport, Harden, Bind, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Rage Abilities: Rock Head, Sturdy, Sheer Force Hit By: Used: Rock Tomb Health: High Green Vulpix has gained three levels. Amaterasu eyed the giant metal serpent her 2 foot frame was just a speck of dirt to the 30 foot giant. She gulped lightly as she eyed the massive creature. She steeled her heart as fire burned inside of her, she could do this. She was already aware of the battle plan, she had dispatched the Magnemite and now she needed to at least try and weaken the steelix as much as possible. Her eyes widened as rocks formed in mid air before they went flying down towards her. She cried out as she was sent flying across the arena from the contact. She bounced across the terrain before landing at her trainers feet. She winced as she struggled to stand her body bruised and battered, but she could still fight.. Yami showed no outside emotion to the Steelix nor it's rock tomb. His Vulpix had been weakened but he still had a chance to do some serious damage. His Pokedex began to beep as it informed him that his Vulpix had unlocked the move confuse ray. His lips twitched slightly, good news. If he combined confuse ray and fire spin he could trap the Steelix in a fire vortex for a number of turns and with confuse ray confuse the pokemon so that it may harm itself in battle, allowing his next pokemon an advantage, " Amaterasu! Combination of Confuse Ray and Fire Spin!" commanded Yami. Amaterasu nodded her head as fire burned inside her. The temperature began to increase as fire burst forth from her tiny body. She parted her lips as a sphere of bright red flames began to form. All around her body appeared six golden orbs of energy that materialised from nowhere. The orbs began to spin clockwise launching forth before a stream of spiralling flames launched forth heading straight towards the Steelix. Level: 15 Level Needed to Evolve: 50 Attacks: Ember, Tail Whip, Roar, Baby-Doll Eyes, Quick Attack, Fire Spin, Confuse Ray TM Moves: Sunny Day, Fire Blast Abilities: Flash Fire, Drought Weather: Sunny (3/5) Enhancement: Fire Spin ++ Hit by: Rock Tomb Used: Confuse Ray, Fire Spin Health: Red |

It seemed like the Vulpix had learned a new move. This combination of attacks was unfortuante, but Jasmine would make the best of it. She decided to use a low level attack since the Vulpix was wearing down. "You're doing well, Steelix. Now Rage!" If he did not become accused, this attack should finish off the little fox. She wondered what Yami had planned next.
Steelix refused to show pain when the fire encircled him. He could take this! The Confuse Ray left him feeling dazed, but did not think it had affected him too badly. Not yet, at least. He moved forward, shaking the ground with his weight. He then went crazy as he attempted to attack the Vulpix and take her out. Amaterasu cried out as she was struck by the metal giant being tossed across the battle field where she crashed into the ground at her trainers feet. She struggled to rise, trying to get back on her feet. Her body hurt and ached, the pain that coursed through her being was unimaginable. She struggled to her tiny feet her right eye shutting as she winced from the pain that was caused from her movements as she used her sheer will to stand. Her body and legs shook as she stood proudly before she collapsed falling into a blissful unconsciousness. Yami eyed his Vulpix as she demonstrated her powerful will to fight, rising to her feet before finally collapsing. He brought out her pokeball returning her to its confines, "Good Job Amaterasu, rest up Chiyo will take it from here" he slid the ball up his kimono sleeve before drawing out the next. He enlarged it before tossing it up into the air, "Let's go Chiyo Curse and Earthquake" commanded the trainer, giving his commands as a beam of red light hit the ground ans his next pokemon appeared. He had high hopes for his Onix. She was on the verge to evolve so they needed this victory. A loud roar echoed through the gym as a massive shadow loomed over the battle arena. Appearing opposite the Steelix was a pokemon of near equal height, a female onix. The onix only a foot or more shorter than the Steelix appeared from the beam giving a dramatic roar as she turned to face her opponent, " <Sorry handsome your going down>" said the female rock pokemon with a small smirk. She had her commands so she allowed her body to glow a bright white as she activated the move curse boosting her attack and defence but lowering her speed. She then slammed her tail hard into the ground multiple times creating the ground to shake followed by the entire gym as she unleashed her Earthquake attack. "Good job, Steelix," Jasmine said when the Vupix fainted. Now she had one more Pokemon left to defeat. She raised her eyebrows when Yami chose an Onix. Then she soon understood. His Pokemon knew a ground type attack, which would do a lot of damage to her Steelix, and there was nothing he could do to dodge it. "Quick, use Rage!" The attack would be more powerful now that her Pokemon had taken on a significant amount of damage. If only it was enough...
Steelix roared when the Vulpix fainted. He was going to be the champion! He eyed Yami as he waited for his next opponent to appear. His steely eyes focused on the Onix. It was a female. He cocked his head at her comment. He had no time to reply, for the Earthquake attack knocked the wind out of him. Angry, he moved forward in a rage. Chiyo gave the Steelix a cheeky smirk as he rushed forth with a rage, " <Bring it on big boy>" said the Onix as she watched the steel type rush her slamming into her hardened body with a normal type move. She slid back digging her tail into the ground to steady herself. The attack had caused a little damage, to be expected as the Steelix was stronger than her but her trainer was smart and had already formulated a battle plan. "Chiyo Harden then Earthquake again" commanded the dragon trainer. His plan was to continue using Earthquake the only move that had a chance to end this battle for him. Chiyo's other attacks would be of no use in this battle meaning he could only rely on Earthquake a heavy hitting ground type move. Chiyo's body glistened as she hardened it boosting her defence in order to make it harder to defeat her. She gave roar as she brought her large tail down on the ground the entire battle arena shake violently as she unleashed the force of her earthquake. Steelix started moving all around so he would not be hit by the Earthquake. However, it was no use. This last attack did him in. He fell to the ground with a large thud.
Jasmine smiled sadly as she took his Pokeball out. "Good job, Steelix. Take a rest." She was disappointed in how easily she had lost, and she hoped the trainer had learned something from her. "Congratulations. You had a great strategy. I can't give you a badge, but come back and challenge me after you graduate. I'll battle you at full strength." She smirked. She was looking forward to it. Level: 15 Attacks: Heavy Slam, Thunder Fang, Mud Sport, Harden, Bind, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Rage Abilities: Rock Head, Sturdy, Sheer Force Hit By: Fire Spin (3/5), Earthquake Used: Health: --- Onix has gained four levels. She may now learn Rage.

Chiyo gave a mighty roar as the Steelix went down without a fuss. Her tail crashed into the ground as she released a prideful roar. The metal cat around her neck began to glow as it fused to her rock hard body. The metal began to grow encasing her form consuming it as she started to glow brightly. Her body began to grow in length, this was evolution. Yami turned to face his onix as she began to glow, so she was beginning to evolve. The trainer looked on as his pokeon began to change shape. He had been waiting for her to evolve, "That's it Chiyo evolve into a steelix" spoke the raven haired trainer. His team was growing in strength.
