The Wailer tried to snap out of it, but he was still terribly confused. The Shadow Ball hit him square on, taking the rest of the energy out of him.
Brandon grimaced when his Pokemon fainted. "Return, Wailmer." He sighed and took out another Pokeball. "Combusken, you're up!" A chicken like Pokemon appeared in front of him. "Start off with Ember!"
Combusken growled at the Umbreon. She was ready to fight! She took a strong pose while she gathered her energy. Then she opened her beak and shot out fire balls in quick succession. Nate smiled proudly at his Umbreon. "Great work, Watcher." This was their first win with him as a dark type! He pushed his excitement down as he looked over the fire type. They could beat this one too! "Alright, now use Swift!"
Watcher smiled and swished his tail back and forth. He was glad he could please his trainer. He did not know if he could beat this Combusken, but he would try his best. He winced as the fire balls singed his fur. He sotod his ground and shot out sharp stars at his opponent. Brandon was determined to win this round. That little Swift would not stop his Combusken! "Alright, use Focus Energy and then Flame Charge!" Yes, that should do him in!
Combuksen glared at the dark type. She shielded her face as stars came flying at her. Then she shook her body and got ready to battle. Taking a deep breath, she focused all her power in one spot. Then she stomped in place, causing fire to cover her. When she was satisfied, she ran forward to attack. Level: 20 Attacks: Focus Energy, Ember, Double Kick, Peck, Flame Charge, Scratch, Growl, Sand Attack Abilities: Blaze, Speed Boost Hit By: Swift Used: Focus Energy, Flame Charge Health: Green |

Nate was pleased to see that his Umbreon was holding up well so far. He did not think they would win this round, but he still had his second Pokemon. He wanted to do some good damage to his opponent before he had to use it, though. "Feint Attack!"
Watcher kept his eyes on the fire type. He hoped he would not become burned. He dashed to the side when Combuksen came at him, but he was not quick enough to dodge the attack. He soon recovered and moved to use Feint Attack. Brendan knew he had to do something or he could lose his second Pokemon. "Quick, use Sand Attack and Double Kick!" He hoped this would be enough to bring down the powerful Umbreon.
Combusken flinched as she felt the effects of Feint Attack. How could she beat this guy? While he was still close to her, she kicked up dirt with her feet. Then she kicked twice, hoping to finally get him out of the battle. Sand flew into Shadow's eyes, blinding him. He could not see well enough to dodge the Double Kick. He fell into a heap on the ground and did not get up again.
Nate took out his Pokeball. "Great work, Watcher. I'm proud of you." The Umbreon had down excellent for his first battle in his evolved form. Now it was time to choose his second Pokemon. "Chelsea, you're up!" He smiled at the Shinx. "Use Spark!"
Chelsea growled at her opponent. She simply loved battling, and this looked like a good challenge to her. With glee, she released a wave of electricity. Her electric moves were the best! Brendan nodded in satisfaction. "Good job, Combusken." He could see that the Shinx was not as strong as his opponent's previous Pokemon. Perhaps he could win this now. "Use Flame Charge!"
Combusken chuckled to herself when the Umbreon fainted. One down and one to go. She puffed up her chest as the next Pokemon arrived. She could beat this one too. The electrical shock that coursed through her was bothersome, but she could deal with it. She gathered her fire energy as she ran forward. Nate looked at his Shinx and knew what she was thinking. Flame Charge would be hard to dodge, so they might as well make the best o fit. "Charge!" This would make her electric attacks even more powerful. "Now Spark!"
Chelsea growled at the Combusken. She was not going to let a fire type stop her. While her opponent charged forward, she powered up her electric type moves. She clenched her teeth as she endured the attack. Then she released a Spark. Brendan grit his teeth as he watched the Shinx grow in her power. There had to be something he could do to stop her. Fire power could win the day! "Combusken, Ember!"
Combsuken felt her energy draining. This battle would be over soon. She still had a chance, and she was determined to fight until the last second. She took a deep breath and then released it in a series of fire balls. Nate's brain worked quickly to come up with a plan. "Chelsea, Bite!" He did not want to use an electric attack twice in a row. Hopefully, the fire type would soon reach her limit.
Chelsea growled as she ran at the Combusken. She bent down to doge the kicking feet, but in order to leap at her, she still had to get hit. She pushed through the pain and attempted to chomp down on her opponent's leg. Brendan narrowed his eyes at the Shinx now attached to his own Pokemon. This was not good. Well, it was back to fire. "Use Ember to shake her off!" That should do it.
Combsuken squawked when the Shinx suddenly latched onto hr leg. She growled and tried to shake her loose to no avail. She then took a deep breath to calm herself before shooting out fire balls. Then she shook her leg again, hoping this would work. Nate was glad that his Shinx would tough and listened to what he said. He quickly came up with a strategy to win this battle. "Chelsea, use Spark and then Charge!"
Chelsea growled at the Combusken as she shot fire balls at her. She tried to dart side to side, but much of the fire still struck her. She stopped and planted her feet firmly in the ground before letting loose a bolt of electricity. Then she relaxed and recharged her powers. Brendan was still pumped up for this battle. He quickly thought of his Pokemon's moves, especially those he had not tried yet. He decided to go with something unexpected to catch his opponent off guard. "Peck!"
Combsuken shivered as she felt the electricity hit her. She really needed to find a way to get around that. For now, she was off to attack. She sped forward on her long legs, her beak growing in the process. Then she leapt at the cat Pokemon to strike! Nate knew there would be no time to dodge, nor would Chelsea want to. He trusted her strength and endurance. "Now Spark!" He did not know if this would do it, but he knew his Pokemon would try her best.
Chelsea focused on preparing her electric power. She stood strong as the Combusken drilled into her. This was exactly what she wanted. She stood close to her and then released a powerful Spark attack. Brendan observed the two Pokemon. They were both wearing down, and he had to make sure it was his own who lasted longer. "Now use Double Kick!" He hoped to get a few good strikes in.
Combsuken shrieked as the electricity struck her. She had enough already! She raced forward to strike back. Her powerful legs would earn her victory! She stopped short of the Shinx and then prepared to kick her hard.
