New Night [Mod]

Nate walked through the city streets at night, his Eevee, Watcher, by his side. The two of them had had a great time exploring the city and surrounding area during the day. Now they wanted to check out what there was to do at night. "Pretty cool, right, Watcher?" he said, smiling down at his Pokemon. Just as the Eevee opened his mouth to reply, his whole body started to glow. The trainer's eyes widened. Was it finally happening? Could his little buddy be evolving? Considering the conditions, he did not doubt which of the many possible evolutions was taking hold. OOC: Watcher is evolving into an Umbreon. Also, I would like to have a battle with an NPC. |

Watcher grinned at the dark type standing before him. "This is awesome, Watcher!" He embraced the now larger Pokemon. Watcher smiled and accepted the hug. The trainer pulled back and smiled at him. "Let's see if we can find an opponent so we can test your new powers." The Umbreon nodded in approval. Then the two friends set out on the path once again. |

A boy stepped out form the woods just in time to witness the evolution. "That was awesome!" he said with a grin. "Would you like to battle me? We could make it however many Pokemon you'd like." He waited patiently for his answer.  Brendan |

Nate smiled at the boy who appeared. This was just what he was looking for! "Sure, I accept," he said. He thought for a second. He had one other Pokemon around Watcher's level that he wanted to train up. "Let's make it two-on-two. Let's do this, Watcher!" The Umbreon stepped forward, the white circles on his fur glowing in the darkness. Brendan nodded. This was great! "Ok, Wailmer, you're up." The water type was not ideal for fighting on land, but he was confident in his abilities. "Start off with Water Gun!" He was already thinking about his next move.
The Wailmer stared at the Umbreon. He thought he looked quite intimidating. Oh well. It was time to battle. He sucked in a sharp breath and then let out a stream of water. Then he waited anxiously for a counter-attack. Nate's eyes glanced over the Wailmer. That was an interesting choice. He bet he was not much of a threat on land. His new Umbreon had this. "Shadow, dodge that and use Shadow Ball!" It was time to see his new power.
Shadow stretched his limbs. Everything felt so new to him. He had never evolved before! He could not wait to run around and see what he could do now. As soon as the Wailmer was given an order, he was ready to go. He darted to the side with surprising speed. Then he turned his head and shot out a Shadow Ball at his opponent. Level: 19 Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, Quick Attack, Bite, Pursuit, Confuse Ray Egg Move: Tickle TM: Shadow Ball Abilities: Run Away, Adaptability, Anticipation Hit By: Used: Shadow ball Health: High Green |

"What out!" Brendan called, but it was too late. No matter. He knew the battle was only beginning. "Wailmer, use Whirlpool!" Water Gun had not worked, but hopefully this attack would have its intended effect and even things out.
Wailmer sighed when his attack missed. That had been a fun one too. The Shadow Ball came too quickly for him to even move, and he grunted when he was it. He had to strike now! He gathered up a huge whirlpool of water and hurled it at his opponent, Brendan Level: 18 Attacks: Splash, Growl, Water Gun, Rollout, Whirlpool, Astonish Abilities: Water Veil, Oblivious, Pressure Hit By: Shadow Ball Used: Whirlpool Health: Low Green |

Like expected, it was hard for the water type to move on land. However, that Whirlpool looked quite powerful, and Nate knew it would have an effect for several turns. "Use Quick Attack straight through the water!" This would not mitigate the damage done, but it would help the Umbreon execute his won attack.
Watcher felt good when he saw his attack hit. He liked evolving! His eyes widened when he the water coming towards him. he took a deep breath and raced forward. He had to close his eyes so water did not get in them, but soon he had broken free. He kept up the attack until he neared his opponent. Brandon blinked in surprise at the Umbreon's actions. It looked like he would need to use some strategy to win this battle. "Wailmer, use Rollout!" He hoped to keep this up for a little bit.
Wailmer's eyes widened when he saw the Umbreon coming at him. There was no way he could dodge the attack, and he let out an "oof" when he was hit. At least he had not fallen on his side. He curled his body so he was in a ball and then rolled towards his opponent. Nate could tell that the battle just got harder. There had to be a way to stop that rolling Pokemon or it would be over. He decided on a plan. "Use Sand Attack and then Pursuit!" There was no way he could dodge this.
Watcher's eyes followed the moving blue ball. he darted to the right, but this did not stop him from being run over. He slowly got up and growled. He would get that water type! He moved forward, skidding to a stop near the Wailmer so he would push sand onto him. Then he moved in with a lighting quick move to strike. Brandon shrugged when the Umbreon's attack worked. He could still try to use Rollout, but that did not appear to be the best strategy right now. He would try something else. "Astonish!"
Wailmer felt dizzy as he was forced to start rolling about. The sand in his eyes made him wince, and he was unable to dodge the Pursuit attack. This battle was getting old very quickly, and he wished it would end soon. He moved in on the Umbreon in an attempt to use Astonish. Nate wondered why his opponent chose a dark type move knowing that his Umbreon would be strong against it. Maybe he was running out of moves. Oh well. It was not his problem. He wanted to try out one of Watcher's other new moves. "Use Confuse Ray followed by Bite!"
Watcher watched as the Wailmer jumped in front of him. He was startled, but too much damage was not done. He grew excited at the prospect of attempting new moves. He stood his ground and shot out rays from his eyes. Then he leapt forward, opening his mouth wide at the last second to bite him. Brandon narrowed his eyes when he saw his Pokemon become confused. He hoped the status would not last long. "Wailmer, Water Gun!" He knew he would soon be in a tight spot.
Wailmer groaned as he felt the Umbreon's teeth puncture his skin. Fortunately, he was big enough to easily shake him off. He heard his trainer's command, but it did not make much sense. In his confusion, he attacked himself. Nate was glad that the confusion seemed to have worked. Now he could end this round. He could already feel victory in his grasp. "Watcher, Shadow Ball!" He hoped this would do that. If not, he could always continue fighting.
Watcher fell to the ground as he slipped fro the Wailmer. At least he had done a good amount of damage. Oh, he liked his new Confuse Ray move! He relaxed when he realized he would not be attacked just yet. He formed a purple ball in his mouth and then shot it at his opponent.
