OOC: This thread is for Yami and Kiki's battle, and it occurs first in roleplay time. Yami should post first. He also has the first move.
IC: There was a break after the appeals round, and then Principal Sash returned to the stage. "Thank you for waiting, folks," she said. "Now we're onto our battle round. First up, we have Yami from Hoenn and Kiki from Johto!" She wondered which of these two would become victorious. |

Yami stepped out onto the contest arena in his hand an ultra ball that he tossed up and down. He headed to the middle of the contest arena where he began to look around. This would be the first time he actively participated in a contest battle. This was his first contest that he had participated in, now that he had made it the second round of the contest he was quite pleased with himself. Yami enlarged the ultra ball in his hand tossing it up into the air. The sphere opened up as a beam of light hit the ground allowing the form of his majestic Dragonair to appear. The long dragon type pokemon released a soothing thrill from his throat as his tail flicked through the air. Species: Dragonair Type: Dragon Name: Ryuujin (Dragon God) Gender: Male Level: 35 Attacks: Leer, Twister, Dragon Rage, Slam, Agility, Dragon Tail TM Moves:Thunderbolt, Draco Meteor, Flame Thrower, Ice Beam Abilities: Shed Skin, Marvel Scale

Kiki walked out onto the stage, sporting a pale green dress, her gold hair flowing onto her shoulders. She was excited for the chance to win another ribbon. She seemed to have a talent for these contests, though they were not her specialty. Still, they were fun, and she wanted to win. She knew she had to get through this battle if she wanted a chance in the finals. She took in her opponent and his Pokemon. The Dratini looked pretty strong, so she would need to use her strongest Pokemon. "You're up, Alice!" She tossed the Bayleef's Pokeball in the air, and she appeared in a flash of light. Alice looked back at her with a confident grin. It was time to do this! Yami eyed his opponent and her Bayleef as she sent it into battle. He hummed to himself as he looked from his Dragonair to his opponent, " Shall we begin?" spoke the young man and once he had his confirmation he would begin his attack. He shut his eyes inhaling, "Ryuujin let's show off your power. Draco Meteor" commanded the Hoenn member his eyes shooting open. Ryuujin released a heavenly thrill at his master's command. His body began to glow as waves of draconic energy burst forth, opening like a damn. His body glowed a deep burnt orange colour as he floated up into the air. raised the tip of his tail pointing it up into the air as a large glowing sphere of orange energy began to form. The sphere grew and grew in size easily dwarfing the dragon pokemon's own tail. Ryuujin flicked his tail launching the sphere up into the air where it burst open. Dozens of tiny orange sphere like meteorites began to rain down over the battle field, heading down towards the Bayleef. Kiki had to admit that the Dratini moved beautifully and performed an attack that was equally elegant. She knew this was going to be a tough match. "Reflect!" she called out. Draco Meteor was hard to dodge, so she wanted to be safe and avoid at least some damage. "Now Magical Leaf!" Grass moves were not particularly great against dragon types, but this attack could not miss and would ensure some loss of points.
Alice watched the Dratini carefully. She studied his moves so that she could know how to beat him. The sound of Draco Meteor caused her to flinch in fear, but she took a deep breath to control herself. A clear reflective mirror appeared around her, cutting down on the damage when one of the rocks struck her. She shook off the pain and moved forward sightly while causing a swirl of leaves to come from her body and gracefully make their way to her opponent. Ryuujin eyed his opponent, the dragonair slithered back and forth keeping a wary eye on the Bayleff. His Draco Meteor had done a little damage to the grass type pokemon. Perhaps his trainer would give the command to use a fire type move against the grass type. The dragon type was forced to focus back on the battle as a barrage of magical leaves slammed into his body. He slid back across the battlefield shaking his head before giving a small glare. Yami paid no attention to his focus magical leaf attack. He simply remained calm, staying wary on what was happening, already forming a strategy to show off the strength of his Dragonair, " Ryuujin combination Agility, Flame Thrower" barked Yami as he gave his commands. Ryuujin released a thrill from his throat as his body began to shimmer. He disappeared in a blur of speed moving all through the air with grace, as if he was flowing through water. He moved to appear behind the Bayleef. He sucked in as much air as his lungs could handle, his cheeks puffing out slightly. A red hue formed around his body as he pared his lips expelling a bright orange stream of glorious fire that rushed forth engulfing everything in the dragon's sight. The flames generated such intense heat that the warmth engulfed the stadium like a tidal wave. Kiki knew there was little she could do about that Flame Thrower attack. She watched as her points dropped while her Pokemon was injured. She could have used Reflect again, but she wanted to try something different. It was risky to do it more than once, and now seemed like the best time. "Alice, use Magical Leaf followed by Synthesis!" The sure-hit attack would give the Bayleef time to heal herself at least partially. One more attack like that, though, and her points would be all but gone.
Alice braced herself for the fire attack. Just as it was about to hit her, she released her leaves once again. The leaves wrapped around the fire, heading right back at the source of the Flame Thrower. She hoped that looked nice for the judges. When the flames finally ceased, she took a deep breath and focused on Synthesis. Her body began to grow and sparkle as she healed herself. Principal Sash watched the battle in excitement. However, soon Yami was called away for a personal emergency. She sighed in disappointed. Well, these tings happened. "Sorry about that, folks," she said as she walked onto the stage. "Due to extenuating circumstances, Yami is no longer able to participate. Therefore, the winner of this battle is Kiki! She will move on to the final round." Alice has gained one level for participating. |

Kiki was surprised that Yami would end the battle, especially when he was so close to winning. It must have been a really bad emergency for him to leave. She hoped everything was alright. She smiled slightly at Principal Sash. Well, she was onto the final round. She nodded at Alice, and they headed backstage together. |
