Nate knew he was getting somewhere now. He could tell this was good training for his Pokemon. "Good job, Manny. Tackle once more!"
Manny nodded. He was glad his trainer was proud of him. Now he just had to finish this battle! He endured the Machop's attack. Then he moved forward as fast as possible to knock into it. The Machop Moved to the left, but it tripped and was attacked by its opponent. Angry, it stood up and used Leer.

"Hang in just a little longer," Nate said. He believed in his Swinub. That hologram was wearing down; he was certain of it! "Use Tackle again!"
Swinub had become tired, and he did not want to battle anymore. At the same time, he did not want to let his trainer down. This was his first real battle, after all. At least the Machop did not attack him directly this time. He took a deep breath and then made his move. The Machop grunted after it was struck. Its eyes narrowed, and it paused for a moment. Then it charged forward, swiping its leg when it got close to its target.

Nate knew it was do or die here. "Manny, use Tackle one more time!" At least their opponent was a hologram that could not think or plan.
Manny huffed and puffed after he was struck by the Machop's leg. Just one more attack... He thought he could do that much. Then he could take a nice, long nap. The Machop was struck once more. This time, it did not get back up. After the Pokemon vaporized, a mechanical voice said: "Congratulations, you have won. Take your helmets off if you are finished."

Nate smiled at the Swinub. "Good work, buddy. You can take a rest now."He took the helmet off of him. Then he released Echo, his Solosis. "I've got a treat for you!" He held out five rare candies, which the psychic type easily accepted. Then the boy placed the helmet on top of his head. Nate smiled in satisfaction. "Good. Now you're ready to fight. Start off with Psywave!" He wondered how well the floating psychic type would be able to use his new moves.
Echo enjoyed the candies, and now he felt strong! He was still a baby, but he was eager to test out his abilities. The hologram in front of him did not seem so threatening. he stayed in place and tried to use Psywave. Nate blinked. Oh, that's right. Psychic moves had no effect on dark type Pokemon. Whoops. "Sorry, Echo. Let's try Rollout!" Yeah, that should be better.
Echo had not remembered the detail about his psychic attacks either. But that was why they practiced, right? He was unable to dodge the Tackle, but he quickly recovered. He lowered himself to the ground and started spinning his body around. Nate felt like he was in a groove now. He new exactly what to do. "Roll away and use Rollout again!" Yes, this should work.
