The Absol was surprised by the girl's tone. She wasn't afraid of him? This certainly was unusual. Even the Fennekin did not seem fazed. He nodded at them. If they wanted an honorable battle, then he would give them one. He struck first, creating a wind to knock back his opponent. Faith liked something about the Absol. He seemed to have ulterior motives for battling her, though she did not think it was anything bad. "Amber, use Ember and then Tail Whip!" She had to fight back hard against their strong opponent.
Amber clenched her teeth and dug her claws into the ground. Still, she was blown off her feet by the wind. She gathered her fire energy as she stood up. Then she aimed her Ember at the Absol, swishing her tail at the end. The Absol braced himself for the move The fire scorched his fur, but he still endured it. He wondered what more he could do to scare the Fennekin. He needed proof that these two would not run away. He mulled over the thought as he dashed forward to use Quick Attack. Faith calmly observed the Absol. Se wondered how they could become friends. All she could think to do right now was continue to battle. "Amber, Scratch!" She hoped this worked.
Amber grew dizzy watching the dark type zoom back and forth. her trainer's words grounded her. She waited until the Absol came close, and then she lifted her paw to Scratch him. The Absol tried to continue to run, but the Fennekin tripped him up. he lost his balance and crashed to the ground. He growled as he got back up. He did not want to make a fool of himself. He ran at his opponent and tried to use Feint Attack in an attempt to scare her one last time. Faith could see the Absol was starting to calm down. She hoped he would be able to trust them soon. "Quick, jump up and use Ember!" That guy sure was fast.
Amber wondered why her opponent was so wary. Did he distrust humans just like she once had? But he seemed cautious of her as well. He did not seem very mean. She leapt into the air before he could hit her. She shot out her fire balls before landing on the other side of the Pokemon. The Absol shuddered as the fire balls singed his fur. It seemed the Fennekin had burned him. And yet she was not angry. She even seemed friendly. He truly did not understand. He decided to use one of her own tricks, so he ran at her, planning to use his claws for a Scratch attack. Faith noticed a difference in the Absol now. It looked like she was getting closer to her goal. "You use Scratch as well and follow it up with Tail Whip!"
Amber noted that the Absol seemed burned. She was glad her fire was good for something. She kept on her feet, slowing down only when she was scratched. She leapt at her opponent to Scratch him right back. Then she paused to whip her tail around. The Absol was swept off his feet from the Scratch attack. He winced from his burn as he got back up. He growled lowly while he zipped forward, using Feint. Faith grew excited as she saw the Absol weaken. He seemed pretty nice, so she hoped to be able to catch him. "Amber, use Ember!"

The Absol howled when fire hit him once more. He could not take another attack like that. He wondered if this girl would try to catch him. The idea was kind of nice. He braced himself and then used Razor Wind. "You're both doing well," Faith said. "You seem like a nice Pokemon, so let's finish this. Amber, use Scratch!" She hoped to be able to catch the Absol after this.

The Absol looked up in surprise. Was she serious? He felt hope right before he took the final blow. If he could be with a trainer like her, then maybe he could be happy. He fell to the ground and fainted. Faith smiled. "Good work, Amber. Now let's take this guy home." She took out a pokeball and tossed it at the Absol. Amber walked over to her and watched curiously. |
