Strolling Amid Trees [Mod]

Gary enjoyed walking in the forest in Sinnoh. The trees were not dissimilar to those at the academy, but it was cool to think that he was in a whole different region. He did not have any big plans for this trip. Neither did he feel much like exploring the city. Instead, he strolled along the path in the forest. He wanted to see the kind of Pokemon that lived here and perhaps come across a challenger worthy of him, whether Pokemon or human. Right now, he leaned towards human. He looked around hopefully. |

Just then, a woman jumped out of the bushes in front of Gary. "Hello!" she said energetically. "I'm Bebe. Let's have a one-on-one battle, alright?" She was on a mission, but she could take time for a little training. She took out a Pokeball and revealed an Eevee. Gary smirked, pleased when someone appeared to challenge him. "That's alright with me," he said. He could use a quick battle. So, she was going with an Eevee? Good thing he knew all about that Pokemon. "Spirit, you're up." He released the normal and grass type and thought of a battle strategy. "Start off with Tackle!"
Spirit trotted in place. A battle? Oh, this was going to be fun! She smiled at the Eevee in front of her. <Hello! Let's have fun, alright?> It would be better if Pokemon could be friends after a battle. He ran forward, planning not to stop until he ran into his opponent. Bebe looked over the Deerling. That Pokemon appeared strong! She was sure that he would be a great opponent for her Eevee. She was about to call out for Eevee to dodge, but she saw it was too late. Oh well. Time to get on the offensive. "Use Swift!"
Eevee watched the Deerling's movements. He turned to run when he got close, but he was too late. He muttered as he slowly got to his feet. He shook the dirt off of his fur and then swished his tail, making sharp stars appear and sending them flying at his opponent. Gary was quick to react to the Eevee's attack. "Dodge that and use Double Kick!" He knew his Deerling could complete the task. The battle made him relax and get into the spirit of things. He was sure he would return to Cherilli Academy in great shape.
Spirit raced around the area, having the time of his lfie. <Wee!> Battling was so great when he was allowed to run around! He easil dodged the Eevee's attack, causing him to giggle. <Too slow!> He then rounded on him and came in close. Suddenly, he spun around and kicked his hind legs, hoping to make contact with his opponent. Bebe frowned as she watched the Deerling evade her attack. This was not good. She had to think of something even better. Then she got an idea. "Eevee, Bite!" Yes, that would do it.
Eevee skidded to a stop when he realized that he could no longer see his opponent. He turned his head quickly to try to catch sight of him. Then he saw feet in his face. He groaned as he was struck twice. Growling, he leapt forward to latch onto one of those legs with his teeth. Gary already had a strategy forming in his mind. He waited for the Eevee to get close to his Pokemon. Then e called out, "Leech Seed!" That move was always useful. "Now Feint Attack!!"
Spirit pranced in place. His trainer had not told him to move, so he stayed where he was. Just as the Eevee was on him, he shot out a tiny seed. Unfortunately, he was bitten by his opponent. He struggled to break free and then used Feint Attack. Level: 19 Attacks: Tackle, Camouflage, Growl, Sand Attack, Double Kick, Leech Seed, Feint Attack Abilities: Chlorophyll, Sap Sipper, Serene Grace Hit By: Bite Used: Leech Seed, Feint Attack Health: Green/Low Green |

Bebe frowned as she saw the impact of the Deerling's attack. This was no good! She had to act fast before that Leech Seed drained all of the energy from her Pokemon. "Use Swift!"
Eevee cried in terror as he was affected by Feint Attack. He really did not like that move! He shivered. There were thin vines around him taking his energy. He better make his move. He swished his tail, releasing sharp stars aimed at his opponent. Gary nodded in satisfaction. If he took it slow and easy, he should have no problem winning this battle. He was glad that his Deerling was enjoying himself. "Now Double Kick!"
Spirit pranced in place. The strength he got back form that Leech Seed felt great! He ran around in circles when stars came flying at him. Unfortunately, he was not able to dodge many of them. Without slowing down, he ran at the Eevee. At the last second, he turned and kicked out his hooves. Bebe could see she had little time to turn this battle around. She was not very skilled, so there was only one thing she could think to do. She had to keep plugging along. "Eevee, Quick Attack!"
Eevee fell over when the Deerling kicked him. <Ow...> he muttered. He did not like this at all. Oh well. He would have to keep fighting until his trainer told him to stop. He collected his energy and then darted forward for a Quick Attack. Gary knew he had the advantage in this battle. His Deerling was quicker and more experienced. Still, he knew better than to let hid guard down and assume he had already won. "Now Feint Attack!"
Spirit tried to run again, but he was not able to escape the Eevee's Quick Attack. He soon he recovered and rounded back on the normal type. He made himself look menacing before striking. Bebe winced as her Pokemon was attacked again. There had to be a way to win this battle! She decided to go with Eevee's strongest move. "Now Bite!" If only he was at a higher level.
Eevee shivered as the Deerling's attack frightened him. He wished he could get over that. he could feel himself weakening and did not know if he could take another blow. He hoped his next move would do a good amount of damage. He leapt at his opponent with his mouth open wide. Gary knew he was close to winning this battle. He just needed to use a little more power. "Double Kick!" he cried. He wondered if this would do it. He was almost sad that the fun would be ending so soon.
Prancer hopped around the area. Battles were so great! He was losing energy, but it was not to the point where he could still not have fun. He turned just in time to see the Eevee leaping at him. He instinctively kicked up his legs to attack back. Eevee was too tired to get out of the way of the Deerling's hooves. He cried as he collapsed on the ground. He did not get back up.
Bebe gasped. "Eevee!" She rushed to her Pokemon and scooped him up in her arms. Then she gave Gary a sad smile. "Thank you for the battle." With that, she disappeared into the trees. Level: 20 Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack, Growl, Refresh, Bite, Quick Attack, Swift, Baby-Doll Eyes Abilities: Run Away, Adaptability, Anticipation Hit By: Double Kick Used: Health: --- Deerling has gained three levels. He now knows Take Down!

"Great work, Spirit!" Gary exclaimed. The Deerling smiled in pride. He still looked tired, so the boy returned him to his Pokeball. He blinked when his opponent suddenly ran off. Oh well. He had gotten what he wanted.
He turned around and whistled as he headed back to the city. OOC: finished |
