Faith took a shaky breath as she entered the large building. She could not believe she was about to have a gym battle. It seemed to unreal to be true. She had tried to ignore her desires, but she was finding it increasingly difficult. She wanted to be a coordinator to please her mother, yet... She shook the thoughts away. That was for a later time. This gym battle was just for fun. It did not mean anything. "Roark?" she said as she looked around. "I'm here to challenge you!" |

Roark walked into the room. "Hello," he said, offering the girl a friendly smile. "Are you from Cherilli Academy?" He had recently battled a student, and this girl's uncertainty suggested she was another one. Excellent. "Let's battle. Geodude, you're up!" He tossed a ball in the air and released the rock type. Faith smiled slightly when she saw Roark appear. "Yes, I am. Thank you for accepting my challenge." She hoped that this battle would teach her a lot about herself. It was time to choose a Pokemon. "Time to come on our, Ziggy!" The Kecleon appeared and stood before her. "Start off with Feint Attack!"
Ziggy snarled as he raced forward. he jumped when he got close to the Geodude. Then he attacked scarily, hopping to get in some damage. So, this was what a real battle felt like! Roark could see that Faith was starting off strong. He wondered exactly what that Kecleon could do. It was quite an unusual Pokemon. Well, he did not plan to go easy on that girl. It was time to start off with a great attack himself. "Geodude, use Rock Throw!" That would show them.
Geodude watched the Kecleon's movements with his eyes. There was no way for him to dodge that Feint Attack. He glowered at the Pokemon. Now it was his turn. He gathered large rocks and hurled them at his opponent. Faith let her Pokemon be attacked by the Geodude. Doing so would activate the Kecleon's type to rock. Then the next rock attack thrown his way would not do as much damage. "Alright, now use Feint Attack!" She would be fine as long as she stayed away from normal type attacks.
Ziggy stood firmly in the place. He shielded his eyes with his arms, but the rocks thrown at him did hurt. He shook off the damage and glared at his opponent. Now it was his turn to strike. He formed some energy and power in his hands and then let it loose. Level: 14 Attacks: Synchronoise, Ancient Power, Thief, Astonish, Lick, Scratch, Bind, Feint Attack Abilities: Color Change, Protean Hit By: Rock Throw Used: Ancient Power Health: Green/Low Green |

Roark knew all about Kecleon's special ability. He decided to take advantage of this knowledge and switch up his attack types each turn. of course, this would onyl work if his attacks hit. "Geodude, Tackle!"
Geodude grunted as he was struck by the weak attack. It would take more than that to bring him down! He was not quite sure why he was asked to use Tackle against a normal type Pokemon, but he trusted his trainer. He zoomed forward to strike. Faith frowned. It seemed like her opponent had figured out her plan. It was not that surprising since he was a gym leader. She was going to have to step up her gaze. "Ziggy, Bind!" She hoped this would work.
Ziggy narrowed his eyes at the other Pokemon. There had to be a way to get at him. He was smarter than that giant rock, after all! He was struck by the Tackle and became a normal type Pokemon again. Then he aimed and whipped out his tail, attempting to bind it around the Geodude. Level: 14 Attacks: Synchronoise, Ancient Power, Thief, Astonish, Lick, Scratch, Bind, Feint Attack Abilities: Color Change, Protean Hit By: Tackle Used: Bind Health: Low Green/High Yellow |

Roark was enjoying this battle. He had a strategy he planned to keep for now. That Bind did a good amount of damage, but he would make up for it soon. "Now Rock Throw!" If he continued to change up his moves like this, he could get around the Kecleon's special ability.
Geodude moved to the side, but the Kecleon was too quick. He grunted as he was squeezed five times. He had to find a way to get to this gecko. He moved up high so he was out of his reach. Then he threw several large rocks down at the normal type. Faith could tell that Roark was onto her plan. Well, he was a gym leader. No matter. She had a backup plan. "Hang in there, Ziggy. Now use Synchronoise!" Hopefully, this move would deal out a lot of damage.
Ziggy shielded himself with his arms. Still, the rocks falling on him caused him to wince. he was grateful for the next command from his trainer. Now that he was the same type as his opponent, this move would work out great! He took a deep breath and then released odd, psychic sound waves. Level: 14 Attacks: Synchronoise, Ancient Power, Thief, Astonish, Lick, Scratch, Bind, Feint Attack Abilities: Color Change, Protean Hit By: Rock Throw Used: Synchronoise Health: Yellow |

Geodude looked around as he felt an odd sensation. before he knew what hit him, he was on the ground, faitned.
Roark smirked. "Wow, you're pretty powerful. Return, Geodude." He took out a new Pokeball. "You're up now, Onix!" He released his large Pokemon. Now the battle was just beginning. "Use Rage!"
Onix narrowed his eyes at his opponent. He would crush that little Pokemon! he moved forward, shaking the ground from his weight. Soon he picked up speed. He then approached the Kecleon, attacking in a rage. Level: 12 Attacks: Rock Throw, Stealth Rock, Rollout, Rock Polish, Mud Sport, Defense Curl, Tackle Abilities: Rock Head, Sturdy, Sand Veil Hit By: Synchronoise Used: Health: ---  Level: 13 Attacks: Rock Throw, Screech, Stealth Rock, Rage, Rock Tomb, Curse, Bind, Harden Abilities: Rock Head, Sturdy, Weak Armor Hit By: Used: rage Health: High Green Kecleon has gained two levels! He may now learn Feint Attack.

Faith smiled to herself when the Geodude fainted. She was not doing too bad. Now she had to defeat that Onix! Roark already knew Ziggy's special move, so she figured she might as well try it out right away. "Ok, use Synchronoise again!"
Ziggy smirked. One day, two more to go. He did not know if he would last that long, but he would give it his best shot. He allowed the Onix to Tackle him so that he would become a normal type again. Now it would be harder for his rage to build. The Kecleon took a deep brave and released his odd sound waves again. Level: 16 Attacks: Synchronoise, Ancient Power, Thief, Astonish, Lick, Scratch, Bind, Feint Attack Abilities: Color Change, Protean Hit By: Rage Used: Synchronoise Health: Yellow/Low Yellow |

Roark smirked when Faith called out the same attack. She had seriously miscalculated. "That's not going to work. Synchronoise only damages Pokemon the same type as the user, and right now your Kecleon is a normal type." For that reason, he would avoid using rock type moves if possible. "Onix, use Rage!"
Onix laughed when odd waves passed by him harmlessly. <What was that supposed to do? His rage was building, and his next move would be even more powerful. He lumbered toward the Kecleon again. Faith widened her eyes in surprise. So, that was how Synchronoise worked? She felt foolish for being ignorant. Maybe she needed to study more. She pushed the thoughts out of her mind. That was for another time. Right now, she had a battle to win! "Sorry, Ziggy. Use Ancient Power!"
Ziggy did not understand why his move did not work until the other trainer explained. He was frustrated he could now use his mouth powerful attack, but there was nothing he could do for it now. He withstood the Onix's Rage and then formed a ball of energy in his hands, hurling it at his opponent. Roark was glad that Faith seemed to understand where she had gone wrong. Part of his job was to pass on his knowledge to trainers. Still, that did not mean he did not want to win. "Rage, once more!"
Onix roared when he was hit by a rock type attack. That was an offense to him! Then again, he was using normal type moves himself. He liked Rage because its power continued to increase, with that in mind, he lumbered forward to attack. Faith could tell that her Pokemon's time was almost up. That Onix was just too big or powerful. She thought hard about how to make the most of what could be the final move for her Kecleon. She decided to take a risk. "Ziggy, use Lick!"
Ziggy braced himself for the Onix's attack. Somehow, he managed to stay on his feet. He was frustrated that he could not seem to make a dent in the rock type's strength. He acted quickly once it was his turn to move. He stuck out his tongue and attempted to lick the large Pokemon in hopes of paralyzing him. Level: 16 Attacks: Synchronoise, Ancient Power, Thief, Astonish, Lick, Scratch, Bind, Feint Attack Abilities: Color Change, Protean Hit By: Rage Used: Lick Health: Red |
