Lenora patiently waited until the attack had commenced. "Not bad, but we'll be better. Hypnosis!" If this worked, it would surely put a stop to the challenger's plans.
Watchog shielded her face with her arm, but the sharp stars still tore trough her skin. She growled as she faced the Umbreon. There was no way he could stop her next move. She took a deep breath and then used Hypnosis. Nate could only watch as his Pokemon became hypnotized by the Watchog. Watcher fell to the ground and started snoozing. "Wake up!" the boy called out. His heart hammered as he tried to figure out a solution to this new predicament. Lenora smirked in triumph. "You've got to be more careful if you want to win a gym battle. Now Watchog, use Crunch!" She was confident that her Pokemon would be able to complete her mission.
Watchog snorted in amusement. <Have a nice nap.> She took her time finding the perfect formation. Then she ran at her opponent, widening her jaws in order to strike hard. Nate held his breath as he waited for his Pokemon to wake up. After enduring a brutal attack, he saw the Umbreon stir. "Good. Now use Confuse Ray and Swift." It was payback time.
A jolt caused Shadow to snap back into action. He looked up at the Wachog with wide eyes. How could he have fallen asleep at a time like this? Glowering, he shot a beam of light from his eyes. Then he opened his mouth for a physical attack. Level: 22 Attacks: Tackle, Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, Quick Attack, Bite, Pursuit, Confuse Ray, Feint Attack Egg Move: Tickle TM: Shadow Ball Abilities: Run Away, Adaptability, Anticipation Hit By: Crunch Used: Confuse Ray, Swift Health: Green/Low Green |

Lenora frowned slightly when she noticed her Pokemon seemed confused. This was not good at all. "Hang in there, Watchog, and try another Crunch!"
Watchog became entranced by the Umbreon's gaze. then suddenly nothing made sense anymore. He stumbled right into the Swift attack. When he tried to use one of his own moves, he ended up attacking himself by mistake. Nate tensed as he waited to see if Confuse Ray had worked. Finally, he saw the normal type attack himself. Excellent. "Now, Watcher, Shadow Ball!"
Watcher smirked at the Wachog. <Having a problem?> he teased. His opponent was already wearing down, and now he might not even attack him. This was his chance! He stood his ground and prepared a powerful Shadow Ball in his mouth. Lenora waited to see if her Pokemon was still confused. She was glad to see that he seemed responsive. "Watchog, use Crunch!"
Watchog tried his best to clear his mind. The Shadow Ball sent him flying backwards, but at least he could think now. He growled and leapt at his opponent with his jsaws open wide. Nate winced as he watched the attack commence. At least it seemed like his Pokemon was winning. They just had to hold on a little longer. "Hang on, Watcher. Use Feint Attack!"
Watcher darted to the left, but the Watchog was quicker. He grit his teeth as the normal type bit into his leg. He growled at him and then prepared to attack. Watchog became frightened after this last attack, and he could no longer stand. He collapsed in a heap on the floor.
"It looks like you've won," Lenora said after returning her Pokemon to his Pokeball. "Not bad for a student. I can't give you a badge, but I will let your teachers know you have earned points for your team." She walked across the room and held out her hand for him to shake. Level: 18 Attacks: Rototiller, Tackle, Hypnosis, Crunch, Leer, Bite, Sand Attack, Bide Abilities: Illuminate, Keen Eye, Analytic Hit By: Feint Attack Used: Health: --- Shadow has gained two levels!

"Good work, Shadow!" Nate said with a grin. The Umbreon bounded over to him, and he bent down and stroked his head. The two of them were a great team. He looked up at the gym leader and nodded. "Thank you. It was a fun battle. Maybe I'll have a real one someday." After another smile, he left the gym. OOC: finished |
