Kiki and Alice strode through the city together. They were enjoying their time in Unova. The girl wondered if she should search for Pokemon. Then there was the gym leader in this city. She had so little time on this field trip that she could not make up her mind! Then she wondered what kind of trainers resided in Unova. She decided she wanted to find one and challenge them. She started down a path in the forest with her Bayleef, figuring that was where the trainers hung out. |

A teenager stepped out to block Kiki's path. There was a small smirk on his face. "You look like a Pokemon trainer," he said. "I need to test my skills. ow about a battle? Three on three?" He crossed his arms and waited for her response. He always liked finding a formidable opponent.  Hugh |

Kiki stopped, surprised to see someone standing in her way. Upon hearing the challenge, however, she smiled. "Sure. That sounds good to me." She thought for a minute. It might be best to train her Pokemon she planned to use against the third Battle Leader at Cherilli. "Go, Chomper!" She tossed a Pokeball in the air and released the Totodile inside. Hugh grinned. "Great!" He looked over the Totodile for several seconds. He knew exactly who he was going to choose. "Servine, go!" He released his grass type Pokemon. "You can go first." Kiki gazed at the Servine. That looked like a powerful Pokemon. It was going to be tough to beat him. She decided to test out is speed first. "Chomper, use Water Gun!" She wondered when her own Pokemon would evolve.
Chomper jumped up and down. Battling was so exciting! Oh, a grass type would be tough to beat. He calmed down as he considered his next move. Well, he better hit hard. Hugh smirked as he watched the Totodile. "A little water is not going to hurt my grass type. Servine, use Leaf Tornado!" He clearly held the advantage in this battle, and he planned to win.
Servine did not bother to dodge the Water Gun. <Is that the best you got?> she taunted the water type. If he thought he had a chance to beat her, he had something else coming. She stood in place and whipped up a tornado made out of leaves. Kiki should have expected the Servine to be strong. She did not know how she would win this battle, but she was going to give it her best. It was time to get serious. "Hang in there, Chomper. Use Leer and Bite!"
Chomper jumped up and down after completing his attack. He loved his water! Suddenly, there were leaves coming right at him. He covered his face with his claws, but this did not help very much. He leered at the Servine in anger. Then he ran forward with his jaws open wide so that he could bite her. Hugh smirked when his grass attack worked well. This was going to be easy. "Now Leech Seed!" If his Pokemon could get a little bit of health back while damaging his opponent each turn, all the better!
Servine moved back after finishing her attack. She watched the Totodile come at her, but his Leer startled her, and she was bitten. She winced as he held on. She took the chance to release her Leech Seed to drain him and hopefully make him let go. Kiki clenched her teeth as her Totodile took even more damage. This was not good at all. Maybe she had chosen the wrong Pokemon for this battle. There was only one thing she could think to do. "Chomper, use Rage!"
Chomper let go of the grass type as soon as he felt something hit his back. What was that? He spun around but could not get it off. He flinched as he felt his energy drain. Taking a deep breath, he ran at the Servine. While he ran, he started to glow white. Chomper grew wider and taller. When the light faded, in the Totodile's place stood a Croconaw.
Hugh widened his eyes when he saw Chomper evolve. "Wow, you got lucky," he said. The water type would not be stronger, but the grass type still had the advantage. "Don't count on it helping you too much. Servine, Vine Whip!"
Servine started to move out of the way of the Totodile, but the light caused her to pause. Was her opponent really evolving? By the time she realized what was going on, it was too late. She fell over when the now larger Pokemon attacked her. Annoyed with herself, she stood up and whopped out her vines. Kiki grinned as she watched her Totodile evolve into a Croconaw. "Way to go, Chomper!" Mow they stood a better chance against the Servine. She quickly got back into battle mode. She hoped they had both found some new confidence. "Now dodge that and use Rage!"
Chomper felt bigger and stronger. The Servine had shrunk, and he flashed her a toothy grin. <Let's see what you've got now!> He easily hopped out of the way of the vines. Then he gathered his Rage and stormed towards the grass type. Hugh grumbled to himself about the unfairness of evolutions during battle. He willed himself to calm down so he could give his next order. No use crying over spilled milk. "Servine, Leaf Tornado!" He still held the type advantage.
The Servine was unable to move out of the way of the Croconaw's Rage. This attack hurt even more than the last. She growled to herself. She would not let this guy catch her off guard! She took a step back and then whipped up a spiral of leaves. Kiki knew it was a long shot to win this round. At least she had two Pokemon left after Chomper. Still, she wanted to go out fighting. "Rage again!" She hoped he had built up enough power to do a good amount of damage.
Chomper attempted to ignored the whirlwind of leaves coming at him. He ran forward with his head lowered. Many of the leaves struck him, but he did not slow down. Hugh did not like this at all. He was supposed to be winning! Glowering, he tried to come up with a plan. "Wrap, now!" Yes, that would do it.
The Servine was surprised by the power of the attack. She could not believe she was affected this badly by a water type. her pride made her blind, so she lashed out with her vines.

Kiki thought quickly. Her mind returned to contests of the past. She thought one of the moves she had used would work well in this situation. "Run, leap in the air, and use Bite!" She thought it would work better now that Chomper had evolved.
The Croconaw was not fazed by the Servine. He ran at her before jumping in the air, neatly avoiding her vines. He waited until he was above her and then started his descent, his jaws open wide.
