Gary hummed to himself as he walked through the forest. He was proud to have worked hard enough to make it to yet another field trip. Today he was in Unova. One gym battle was enough for him, so he was out searching for special Pokemon. He was interested to see what the Pokemon of other regions were like. Pokemon were always amazing, so he was sure he would have a great time and learn a lot. |

A young Snivy was having fun climbing a tree. It was a nice day out, and he thought that he would have a great view of the forest from the top of the tree. As he climbed, he heard someone coming down the road. Curious, he climbed onto the nearest branch and peered down. It was a human! He did not see any humans out here. He moved a little closer, but at that moment, the branch snapped, and he fell through the air right onto the boy's head!  Gender: Male Level: 8 |

Gary nearly jumped out of his skin when he found something land on his head. Was he being attacked? He decided the best thing to do would be to grab what ever it was. He lifted his hands up and wrapped them around the creature. He then brought it around so it was eye level. His eyes flickered in surprise when he saw it was a Snivy. "Hi there, little guy. What happened to you?" Did he fall out of the tree or was he attacking him? |

The Snivy widened his eyes in alarm. Oh no! What was the trainer going to do with him? He started to shake as he was picked up. However, upon looking into the boy's eyes, he relaxed as he realized he was safe. <I - I slipped and fell. I mean no harm.> He did not want him to think he had tried to attack him! Gary could not tell what the Snivy was saying, but he knew he meant him no harm. He probably fell out of the tree or something. He smiled at him. "Alright. You can be on your way now." He gently set him on the ground. Something caused him to pause, and he continued, "Unless you'd like to battle. It would be fun." |

The Snivy blinked in surprise. A battle? He was uncertain at first. He was not the best battler. Then again, this trainer seemed nice, so perhaps he could teach him a thing or two. He had to learn to defend himself after all. He nodded. <Ok. Who am I up against?> He took a battle stance and waited for another Pokemon to appear. Gary was pleased that the Snivy seemed ready to battle. He wanted to know what he was capable of. He thought for a moment before pulling out a Pokeball. "You'll face Stephan." The Cyndaqil that appeared looked at the grass type curiously. "He is a fire type, but he's my weakest Pokemon and doesn't know any fire moves yet. You can go first." Since he had seemed timid at first, he did not want to scare him away by being too aggressive. The Snivy nodded. The fire type was intimidating, but he could probably take him if he really did not use any fire type moves. He was glad to be going first. Gary was glad that the Snivy agreed to battle. This was going to be fun. He was interested to see what the little guy could do. "Stephan, dodge and use Tackle yourself!"
<Don't worry,> Stephan said. <My trainer is tough, but he is also kind.> He patiently waited for the Snivy to move, and then he leapt out of the way. The Snivy was surprised when he ran into nothing. He looked around to search for the Cyndaquil. Unfortunately, he was struck by a Tackle as soon as he found him. This battling stuff was hard. He slowly got up and faced his opponent. This time, he tried to use his Vine Whip. Gary watched the Snivy fight back. He could tell he did not have much battling experience, but he did see potential. "Stephan, Tackle!"
The Cyndaquil flinched when he was struck by the Snivy's vines. He knew it did not do much damage, but it was still annoying. he shook the feeling off and then raced forward to attack again. The Snivy tried to move but stumbled and fell. The Cyndaquil's Tackle sent him rolling through the dirt. He felt dizzy as he stood up, so he decided to settle for a Leer to weaken his opponent's defenses. "Alright, Tackle again," Gary said. He had promised not to use fire type moves, so this was all he could do. He hoped his Cyndaquil would not become too bored.

The Snivvy fell back from the force of the Tackle. He was prepared to return the blow now, and he whipped out his vines to strike the Cyndaquil while he hooped backward to stay out of range. Watching the Snivy, Gary started to develop ideas on how to defeat him. "Grab those vines and use them for your Tackle!" It sounded good in his head at least.
Stephan winced as the vines struck his back. He sucked in a sharp breath and grabbed the vines with his grubby hands. He then used the force of the attack to propel himself forward.
