OOC: This is for Gary and Faith's battle. Gary will post first and will have the first move.
IC: The time had finally come. Principal Sash grinned as she strode onto the battlefield. Once again, Gary and Faith were pitted against each other. Both had won a tournament in the past, and she wondered who would appear victorious today. "Welcome to the Fall 2015 End of the Semester Tournament! Please give it up for Gary from Kanto and Faith from Hoenn!" She smiled as she made her way over to her seat. It was time to begin! |

Gary strode onto the battlefield with his head held high. For the third time in a row, he was in the final round of the end of the semester tournament. And also for the third time in a tow, he was facing off against his friend Faith. She had one the previous semester, but he was looking forward to repeating his first victory. "Skipper, let's go!" He kissed the Pokeball before releasing the Wartortle inside. He wanted to finish this with his partner and first Pokemon. The two of them exchanged a look. They were ready! As Faith entered the battle area, she wondered if her mom would be watching the finals. She wondered if she would be proud of her. This was not a contest battle, so would she approve? She wondered if her father had been a trainer. She pushed the thoughts away as she took her spot across from Gary. She had to give it her all in this battle. "Let's do our best," she said, pulling out a Pokeball. "Go Willy!" The Bibarel looked ready to begin. Gary nodded at Faith. "Good luck." He knew this was going to be a great battle. They were pitting their starters against each other, and both of them were water types. He could not wait to see how this would turn out. "Skipper, use Muddy Water!" It was best to start off strong.
Skipper stared into the eyes of the Bibarel. <Let's have fun,> he said. He would battle his hardest, of course, but there did not need to be any bad feelings between them. He had to respect another water lover, after all. At his trainer's command, he dashed forward. When he got close to his opponent, he brushed his arm on the ground to swipe up mud and water. Faith loved the prospect of a water Pokemon battle. It was her favorite type of Pokemon, so she thought she had the advantage. She let Gary's attack take full force, knowing it would not do much damage on her own Pokemon. She wondered if he was testing their skills. Well, she would give him a show. "Willy, Headbutt!"
THe Bibarel barred his fangs as the Wartortle came closer. He stood his ground while the muddy water hit his fur. He shookt he water off to dry himself. That didn't hurt, but his own attack would! Hoping his opponent was still close, he charged forward with his head lwoered. Gary watched the action unfodled. He had to think quickly in roder to react timely and come up with a good strategy. At the moment, he could only think of one thing: "Withdraw!" At least that would minimize the damage done by the Headbutt. "Now Bite!"
Skipper immediately pulled inside of hsi shell. He felt his body shake, but the damage was not too bad because he had a hard armor. He isntantly popped out when he felt the shakign stop. he hopped the Bibarel was still close to him as he opened his jaws and lunged forward. Faith frowned when she saw the Wartortle hide in his shell. That was no good. She had to find a way to make sure that did not happen again. She soon had another problem as the turtle clamped down on her Bibarel. "Quick, use Aqua Tail!"
Willy did not like the feeling of his head hitting the hard shell. He jumped back to evalaute his current situation. His eyes widened when he was bitten. He had to get tis guy off of him! He turned and used is swirling tail to attack his opponent. Gary thought the battle was getting interesting. There were only so many moves that could sue that were not water attacks, though their strongest moves woulds till do some damage. Plus, there was some secondary effects to think about. "Skipper, Bubble!"
Skipper grunted when he felt something against his skin. He let go of the Bibarel and was pushed back by the force of the Aqua Tail. The water did not feel too bad, but he knew he was to do someting to make up for lost ground. He blew out some bubbles to hopefully slow down his opponent. Faith thought of he roptions in her current situation. She soon came to a conclusion. "Use Rollout!" The move would not do much damage at first, but it would build with each use.
Willy blinked at when bubbles struck his body. Was that supposed to hurt? Oh well. He formed a ball with his body and then rolled towards the Wartortle. He felt a little slower than before, but he did not think much of it. Gary watched the Bibarel roll around. He knew this could get dangerous if he let it go on. He had to think of a way to stop that ball of fur. "Skipper, Tail Whip!" That would help with the water attack he had planned next. "Now Water Gun!" He wondered if that would do the trick.
Skipper followed the ball of Pokemon with his eyes. Though the Bibarel was slower than before, the Wartortle was still unable to dodge the attack. At least it had not done too much damage. He whipped his tail back and forth as he stood up. Then he aimed and shot out his water. Faith wondered what was up with her opponent. He had to have some sort of strategy. Well, she would continue with her own. "Willy, use Rollout once more!" There was no reason to stop yet.
Willy felt his body strike something hard. He continued to roll, even when he felt his body weakened by water. He did not like the feeling. A little water could not hurt him! He continued to roll, although he was even slower than before. Gary grit his teeth. His plan was not working. It was time to try something different. "Skipper, stand your ground and use Bite!" It was risky, but it might just do the trick. He wondered how long this battle would take.
Skipper kept his eyes on the moving ball. He had to find a way to stop him. When the Bibarel came close, he tried to stop him with his arms. He ended up being flattened, but he stilla ttempted to chomp down on some skin inorder to stop the attack and inflict some damage. Faith focused on her breathing as the battle picked up pace. She had to think clearly if she wanted to win. She had another tricky situation to get out of, and only one idea came to mind. "Willy, Water Gun!" She hoped this move had enough force.
Willy's rolling was finally stopped by the Wartortle. His eyes widened in surprise when he realized he was caught. He had to do something quickly! He moved his head so he had a good aim and let out his best Water Gun attack. Gary wondered why Faith was resorting to using a water type move. She must be out of ideas. Well, he had some of his own. "Skipper, Tackle!" It looked like the Bibarel was wearing down. He could see victory coming in close!
Skipper let go when he felt water in his face. He shook the water off and sent the other Pokemon a look. Really? He could use a simple move as well. He ran forward on all fours, planning to run right into the Bibarel. He needed to win this. Faith was glad she had gotten out of that situation. Still, she could tell that this would all be over soon if she did not think of something. With that Tackle coming, she decided to go with her best water move. "Aqua Tail!"
Willy shook his head to clear it. He was glad he was done being bitten! His victory was short lived, for the turtle was soon running right at him. He prepared his own attack right before he was hit. When it was over, he quickly turned his tail to his opponent to attack.
