Sprite:
Species: Ariados
Type: Bug/Poison
Name: Arak
Gender: Male
Special Markings: White spirals through the black dots on his abdomen
Level: 25
Attacks: Poison Sting, String Shot, Leech Life, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak, Sucker Punch, Fury Swipes, Psychic (TM), Electroweb (egg)
Abilities: Swarm, Insomnia, Sniper
Nature: Curious and a little cautious, the Ariados is rather more likely to avoid or deter likely conflicts than actually take them on, often trapping opponents in his webs and allowing himself to make a clean escape as necessary. Perhaps just as often, however, he will reach out psychically, regardless of not being the most proficient at it, trying to feel out a potential enemy or ally's personality. Like this he gets around fairly proficiently as a loner, successfully evading capture for some time and rather intent on continuing to do so until he might find the right partner again. Considering some of his own personal perceptions and history, however, he tends to be a bit more inclined to trust females over males, and is often rather wary of fire-type pokemon. All in all, though, the Ariados isn't particularly unpleasant when it comes to it; potentially fairly friendly and helpful if he ends up finding someone he comes to like, but it's simply a matter of finding such people or pokemon.
History: Growing up as a 'shiny' pokemon was fairly difficult for the Spinarak, both without much for proper parents and for, more than just being a color rather different than his kin, even having odd white spirals around the 'eyes' back on its abdomen. Still, he did his work and laid his webbed 'home' shortly into life, prospering so far as he managed to survive and frequently trap or elude various trainers that came along. Stronger and stronger the Spinarak grew, before he found himself evolving completely on his own, as a matter of a certain necessity for making a few more enemies than friends of the other predators in the forest he grew up in. Eventually, however, he consented himself to tag along with a trainer that seemed rather more pleasant than most of the rest that had come along, partly to experiment and partly to just get away from his situation at that time. The relationship didn't last long before he drifted away from the trainer, but not before he was granted a TM move that even enabled him, through psychic power, to speak psychically; albeit not particularly well. With that little relationship ended, and some experience in contests more than actual battles during it, he drifted off on his way to wherever his feet may take him next.
