Faith was glad that her water attacks were working again. Now it looked like the battle was evened up. This was her chance to win! She knew exactly which move to choose for her final act. "Felicity, Rage!"
Felicity frowned at the Cyndaquil's Leer. Now she knew she was really vulnerable. Before she could get away, he rammed right into her. Growling, she moved close to him in a crazy fashion to strike back. Nate had decided to ask Stephan to use Tackle again, but then he noticed something unusual. The flames on the Cyndaquil's back had nearly doubled in size. Then he realized that the ability Blaze must have taken effect. Now he had a better idea of how to win this battle. "Use Leer and Overheat!"
Stephan fell over from the Totodile's attack. As he stood up, he could feel his fire power increasing. He wondered if it would be enough to take out the water type. Well, it was time to find out! He leered once more at his opponent. Then he stood his ground and tapped into the fire burning on his back.  Level: 8 Attacks: Tackle, Leer TM: Overheat Abilities: Blaze, Flash Fire, Smokescreen Hit By: Rage Used: Leer, Overheat Health: Red/Low Red |

Felicity was startled by the sudden surge of power from the Cyndaquil. She took a nervous step back. Then, suddenly, she was surrounded by a powerful fire that was too much for her to handle.
Faith gasped when her Pokemon fainted. "Felicity!" She could not believe she had actually lost. Once it registered, she sighed and returned her Totodile to her Pokeball. Then she gave Gary a small smile. "That was amazing. You deserved to win." Level: 9 Attacks: Scratch, Leer, Water Gun, Rage Abilities: Torrent, Sheer Force Hit By: Leer, Overheat Used: Health: --- |

Principal Sash enjoyed the battle and found the outcome marvelous. Who would have thought a fire type would beat a water type? "Excellent!" she said as she stepped onto the battle field. "Both trainers worked hard, but it is Gary from Kant who will be moving onto the next round!" Cyndaquil has gained four levels! He now knows Ember.
Totodile has gained one level! |

Gary relaxed when he realized he had won. He smiled at the Cyndaquil who bounded over to him. "Great work, buddy." He picked up Stephan and held him in his arms. Then he nodded at Faith. "Thanks." He felt proud of his accomplishment. He left the battle area with thoughts of the next round. |

Faith was glad she had at least fought her hardest. She smiled when Chelsea evolved. She was sure the two of them would be a better team now. As for herself, she had more training to do. She left the battle area with plans to do just that. |
