Mr. Knight whistled as he entered the classroom. It was a nice, sunny day, perfect for the first class of the semester! This was the highest level course of an elective, so he did not have to worry about students who were not really interested in the subject. He sat down at his desk and smiled as he took out his enrollment sheet. This students would soon arrive: Faith Donnellon , Nate Kerston , Kiki Jones , Gary Oak , and Sawyer Fylan .

Nate had gotten up early so he could be ready for class. It was a new semester and a new chance to learn. Estel traveled with him to Healing and Potions. The boy thought the Chikorita would enjoy the class. He arrived at the room and made his way inside. Seeing that he was the first to arrive, he took a seat right up front. Estel stared at Frost curiously.

Sawyer was on her way to another class. She held Tammy in her arms. Since the Stunky had problems with illness, she thought she should come along to learn about theories of healing. The girl was not great at the subject, but it was important nonetheless. She preferred classes that were relevant to her. She entered the room and looked around. She gave Nate a small smile before sitting on the left side of the third row. She placed Tammy on the right side of her desk.

A tiny Joltik sat on Gary's shoulder. June was still not used to the giant school, so her trainer decided to bring her to a mild class in order to help her out Gary made sure she was safe was he entered the classroom. He took a seat with equal space from the others. He felt the bug relax as he got ready for class.

Kiki and Alice jogged down the hall together. They just knew they were going to be late! Kiki wished she kept a better track of time. She almost forgot to slow down as she reached the door, nearly slamming into it. She opened the door and entered, her heart beating quickly. In order to not draw attention to herself, she took the closest seat.

Faith ran into the classroom out of breath. She hoped she had made it in time. Her Fennekin clung to her shirt, terrified by the ride. The girl gave Mr. Knight a sheepish smile before sitting beside Kiki. She gently set Amber on her desk and then stroked her back.

Mr. Knight could tell that all the students had shown up this time. He had them in class previously, so he felt no need to take attendance. "Good morning, everyone!" he said brightly. "Let's get started with introductions, shall we? Please introduce yourself and your Pokemon and then explain the biggest injury you've had to deal with, either yourself or one of your Pokemon."

Gary jumped on the opportunity to talk about his experiences. "I'm Gary Oak. This here is June." Now, which story to tell? "One time, after battling a wild Pokemon, my Wartortle cracked his shell. I gathered berries and herbs to mix a potion I learned from this class. I spread it in the crack, and it healed within a week." He smiled proudly.

Faith considered the question carefully. Thankfully, she had not had to deal with any serious injury to her Pokemon yet. However, she could think of a story to tell. "Hello. I'm Faith, and this is Amber. When I was little, I fell out of a tree and broke my leg. Now I will know what to do if that happens to one of my Pokemon!"

Kiki wondered how much she should say in response to the question. She did not agree with the teacher on everything and did not want to get in an argument during class. She decided to just be vague. "I'm Kiki. This is my partner, Alice. She received a serious burn in the past, and I healed it through mixing herbs." Yes, that would do.

Sawyer glanced at Tammy. The Stunky had caused her the most trouble over the years, but she had taught her a lot. "I'm Sawyer. Tammy here has narcolepsy, and sometimes her muscles give out from cataplexy. I use pre-made medicine to help her feel better."

Nate listened attentively to his teammates' stories. He was glad he did not have to deal with situations like those, but now it was his turn and he needed something to say. "I'm Nate, and this is Estel. I've dealt mostly with exhaustion, which good rest cures." He shrugged. It was all he could think of.

Mr. Knight enjoyed listening to the stories. It was clear that they had been paying attention in previous classes. "Excellent. Now, as a warm up, I will give you practice scenarios. Work with a partner to answer how you would heal the specific injury you are given." He handed out a piece of paper to each student and then returned to his desk.

Nate was glad they could choose a partner for this activity. He looked around at the other students in the room. He was friends with all of them, but he thought the girls might want to work together. He walked over to Gary, Estel following him, and offered him a smile. "Do you want to work together?"

Faith noticed Nate reach out to Gary, so she turned to Kiki beside her. "Hey, how about we have a battle?" The two of them had battled in the past but it had been awhile. She was sure it would be a fun learning experience!
